ALT+F4
OK. This might not be news for many people who played HoF before. But if you press ALT+F4 right after a bad bet or defeat, the game will immediately close and you basically rewind the game to the point right before taking that bet or combat.

The only catch is that you must press ALT+F4 really quick. This is especially important for the case where you get defeated in a combat. If you don't ALT+F4 before that "defeated" screen fully appears, the game will save your progress and you cannot rewind anymore.

This is useful for many challenges that require luck. Instead of doing it all over, you can simply rewind, pick a new card, and win. Or, in the boss combat, you are generally disadvantaged. So, you need a few tries to get it right.

Good luck beating the game!
Alchemist
OK. This took me a while, but I eventually cracked it.

You need to get 3 ingredients of the same color. But not every color works. I tried Red and Blue. Red unlocked the token. Blue did not. I did not try yellow though.

To get a card you want, wait until the card spins to the position I mark in the picture and click the button.

i usually stop about where the yellow mushroom is and get what i want 95% of the time. 3 red gives the token because alchemist wants elixir of life. Mixing colours gives lesser results, not having one of each type fails it afaik

Good old alt + F4. I've used the same technique in Renowned Explorers, but not yet in this game. The sessions seem short enough not to suffer the loss too badly.

I usually judge the stop point from spinning speed. There are roughtly 5 points for stopping: 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock.

For example, if the wheel spins really fast, you generally click stop when the desireable card is at 10 o'clock.

With this method, I nail it almost every time.

btw i tried to also figure out when to stop the spinning and apparently it depends on how many cards are in the wheel. Overall though, the more cards the earlier you need to stop it. When i tested one with 10 cards in the wheel it was more than a full rotation to stop it

For the Alchemist encounter, Red unlocks the token and gives you Life Gain, Blue gives you Fame and Yellow gives you Gold. Really easy to achieve with the Grifter's Companion ring.
