UPDATE (with a less overwhelming guide)
For the new version of Brick Rigs (1.2+)

  1. Create a thumbnail for your vehicle in an image editor of your choice, and save it as a 512x512 pixels .PNG file

  2. Open Brick Rigs and load a level

  3. Open the editor (Press O)

  4. Select your vehicle

  5. In the bottom right, select "Open containing folder"

  6. In the folder that just opened, replace "Preview.png" with the thumbnail you created earlier
(Make sure it gets REPLACED, there will be a popup dialog box asking you to confirm)

  7. Restart Brick Rigs

  8. Open the editor again, and the thumbnail should have updated. You can now upload or update your creation.

  9. If it didn't work, follow the guide again and make sure you read step 1 and 6 closely.

For the legacy version of Brick Rigs, and for a simple way to make a thumbnail, follow the guide below.

d. Save it anywhere, as PNG and name it the same exact name you gave your vehicle.

Part 2: Applying the new thumbnail
Step 4:
a. press Windows Key + R, it will open a dialogue box.
b. Type in '%appdata%'

d. Navigate to:

Step 5

Step 6
Go back into the game and upload your vehicle to the Workshop.

Step 7

this guide is likely outdated, although the picture wont be that good, you can press "Insert" or "Ins" on some keyboards and it'll take a picture and automatically use that at the thumbnail

I did all the steps and yet my thumbnail will not show. I think it has to do with the fact that i recycled the preview file and put the thumbnail file in

I have updated the guide with a less exhaustive method for the newest version of BR. If anything remains unclear, let me know and I will add it.
