I promise to take everything you've said the way you describe meaning it, so no apology is necessary!
This mod is actually part of a big group of changes that I've made (and am still working on) that all work together. Instead of creating one huge, super mod that's difficult to update or modify, I split the changes up into parts, where it makes sense.
I learned a lot from the Endless Legend mods, and I'm far better at coding these days. I'm going to do a much better job with my ES2 projects!
What do you mean you know where I'm coming from?
@lilyophelia
I remember your and IvyFetish's great work since Tales of Auriga and Expanded Heroes for Endless Legend and all I was trying to say here was that a couple of screenshots would be nice, that's all (especially considering the fact that you have a lot of ES2 mods). Probably I chose my words poorly, what I meant by "customer" was "user", someone who sees mod for the first time and I used that word to show my logic. I didn't mean that you're trying to sell something to someone and I definitely wasn't trying to offend you. Please forgive me if I did so.
Get ready for lots and lots of mods, because the devs are really on top of providing mod support and I've seen a lot of neat projects that are currently in development.
Also, I've done a bit of modding for Amplitude's games in the past, and I'm pretty prolific once I get started. So lots of good things coming your way, sweets! <3
I'm not really trying to sell anything, so there is no customer. These are my personal mods, which you're welcome to enjoy if you'd like.
These are actually very simple changes. It simply outfits the starting hero ships with the weapons, defenses, and support modules (just like it says in the description!) that I prefer, so that I do not have to change my hero's ship every time I restart a game or get a new hero.
Also, it's works really well as a template for you or someone else to make your own personalized mod for the same purpose!
While I would love to create a full presentation for you, I'm a bit busy working on other mods! ;P
Honestly, I know where you're coming from. However, just try the mod to find out what has changed. Lily might not have massively described everything for us but I can tell you I have enjoyed these mods thus far and nothing in them is utterly game breaking.
@lilyophelia
Thank you for making your mods available to the public. This title has full modding support but the community seems damn near dead as far as submitted mods for it are concerned. i was happy to see your spin on things! Keep up the great work!
Please let me explain myself. When I see your mod (as a "customer") I would like to understand what the mod does. I have 2 options: 1. subscribe and see for myself, or 2. read description and see screenshots. The latter requires a lot less effort from me. With all due respect, description "to match my personal preferences" doesn't exactly explain what the mod does. What if your preferences are overpowered ships with 20 slots or ships with 4 squadron slots or pink ships (these are extreme examples, of course) ? How do I know that? So if your case "just a few things with ship designs" it would be awesome to have side-by-side comparison screenshots for those designs. This way I would understand your mod in couple of seconds and decide should I subscribe or not. With the lack of those, however, a lot of people don't even bother to try, because they don't know will all the effort of subscribing and seeking what is done inside the game for themselves would worth it.
It would be nice to see some screenshots.
