The thing is, I keep track of many games regardless of them being Early Access or not. Take a nice quick look at the abysmal state of gaming nowadays and you'll realize why I'm playing some Early Access games. Triple A games are no better if not worse than most Early Access titles. Indie studio games dominate the top played in my games list. I play more VNs than major titles.
For every twenty games I look at, I may find only one I enjoy. Welcome to the gaming industry
Hey, keep in mind that this review was released years ago.
"I want to start off by taking a shot at anyone coming in here with EA on their lips. What you're doing isn't funny, it isn't productive, and it isn't even accurate when aimed at most companies."
now exploration is a dlc. also it is on different maps... very open worldly.
to host a server you pay ingame currency you get with real money.
survival is still lol
community content has to be payed now with ingame currency
server stability on a for this type of game normal amount of engagement still sucks (not that it is noteworthy if you have no players you dont get this problem - smart solution)
you can buy pets and hats in the market (this might actually save the game since you get so much replay value from it)
This leaves me with one question: What the actual fuck are you even talking about?
development went on and core problems like server stability map regeneration and aaaall the classics werent tackled for a long time or poorly patched. main time art department pushed out useless cosmetics and we got rideable pigs. a job well done. exploration got pushed further and further back, the survival aspect, not very strong to begin with, just turned into lol.
what we had now was a survival builder multiplayer exploration game with nothing to explore (dont forget how long the ships didnt work btw) no survival aspect and you couldnt build too much before you needed to delete all or the server became unstable.
so you had nothing. people left and rightfully so ..... so much for the multiplayer.
- Nothing, but there's a high chance the community will just drown it out anyway. A lack of paid DLCs, lack of pay to win content, and a COMPLETE absence of paywalls are what make the store a safe place that you can easily avoid."
- plain untrue and am not sure whats going on in your mind at this point. you repeating several wrong facts over and over does not make them magically true.
"Don't trust me? That's reasonable and smart - everyone needs an official source - and I have mine:"
- oh boy. not even gonna comment on this bit. jeeezus lord almighty....
- No I am not! It isn't ideal, however you can likely skirt around this by finding servers that host your special collection of mods you wish to play with."
- do i really need to comment on the fact that people now have to pay for community content wich was initially designed to help the game? really? what other game lets you pay for game mods. thats a move not even EA games would have dared. applause on a new all time low.
