Revived - Vepr ship for vanilla races

The beautiful original ship is by ProkhorVLG, now revived (with original author permission) to post-release Starbound. I've also made a few improvements and additions myself.

Note this ship doesn't have true upgrades. It was originally designed in early beta, thus before ships had upgrades.

You can safely subscribe to both if you want. Purely optional. If you want to craft new Vepr stuff, you will need this mod subscribed as well.

Q&A
Q: Where is the teleporter?
A: It somewhat blends in, at the bottom of the shaft. It is animated and emits particles like other teleporters.

Q: Can i use this ship for <insert mod race>?
A: It can be done. Swapping .shipworld files is one way. It would be better to make a simple .patch file. I pinned a discussion to explain how. Feel free to publish any such patch files without needing to ask me. Though I wouldn't mind if you left a comment informing me.

Other info
  • If you want this ship on an older character, then delete their old .shipworld file found in
    \starbound\storage\player\
    Make sure you remove anything you want to keep first!
  • New characters don't need to do anything special. They'll simply have this ship.
  • FU's new BYOS feature will not interfere with this ship. This mod will supersede their ship though. I think it is fair to assume that if you wanted to use their BYOS ship, then you wouldn't subscribe to any ship mods.
  • You need the prerequisite mod because I have the actual used assets moved into it. I did so because then people running a server would only need the prerequisite mod in order to support people using this ship mod - without forcing it on everyone - even so don't upgrade when on the server. It is also easier to manage my assets this way.

Ok, so I apologize if this has already been answered, but what is the weapon digistructor for? Where do I get weapon blueprints for it?

Turning this mod on won't have an immediate effect. If you had it on when you upgraded a ship (which you don't do anyhow with FU's BYOS) then it would be a problem. For those that want this ship, they really only need this mod on during new character creation and when upgrading it

Point is, it isn't really tricky. Just sub, craft, unsub. It won't cause a problem to do so. Not the last time I checked anyhow, unless FU's BYOS radically changed something since I last looked.

But if you are worried, it isn't a bad idea to back up saves anyhow. Open your starbound folder, copy the "storage" folder within it to somewhere else. Now you can always restore your saves if you need. It isn't a bad idea in general to periodically do that when you aren't sure about things.

Do you perhaps have a list of the item codes? or the crafting table/locker's item ID? I'd try your suggestion but I'm a bit worried it may frack my ship.

Mm that might be tricky then since I'm currently using frackens BYOS and I have your blocks mods installed, and I built a custom ship, so if I activate it now, would it screw up anything?

Yeah that's one thing I forgot. Starbound will load in phases
1. Base game assets
2. Manually installed mods.
3. Workshop mods.

So if something is required by the manually installed mods, it too needs to be manually installed - because when Starbound checks if the mod it needs is there, it isn't (yet). But that won't matter the moment you upload it to the workshop (if you do).

As for the multiple races, just give me the strings I can make it easily and leave it in that thread.

ok. had to manually install the blocks and objects and this mod from the starbound forum to get my own working to test it. Now I just need help with the multiple Race bit

so, got this all figured out, cept the multi race part. but the game keeps giving an error saying i'm missing the blocks and objects mod. but. i'm not. i'm subscribed to it. did its name change for metadata since you wrote the guide?
