Description
ASM Granizo class frigate
________________________________________________________________________________

The ASM Granizo class frigate was designed as a cheaper option to the Ventisca class destroyers. This results in a ship with similar capabilities with a smaller frame.

The Granizo mounts two guided missile launch tubes, equiped with the first explosive missiles ASM has fielded in any void ship. These missiles work in the same manner to simpler and older kinetic missiles, needing the ship to guide them. Missiles should be fired in groups of two or four to ensure at least one will be able to cause heavy damage (first one will probably be disabled by turret fire). These weapons give the granizo excelent long range firepower.

As other ASM ships, it is also fit for close quarters combat, focusing as always on frontal assaults, using its heavy prow armor to take the damage. The Granizo also includes a prow mounted experimental gatling array, used to destroy enemy systems (mainly turrets) to weak the enemy ship in the first moments of clsoe quarters. However this array is vulnerable, and likely to loose its targeting camera early in battle. It is recomended to be used only at the begining of the battle to ensure it receives minimal damage (it is covered by two sliding doors).

It should be noted that the ship posesses a good gravity drive for forwads and backwards acceleration, a powerfull gravity shield (be aware that its use will affect the gravity drive, but not incapacítate it) and is also capable of flying in moons (0.25g) horizontaly (requires the use of its hydrogen thrusters, can hover vertically with its gravity drive)(Not really suited for landings, would require dedicated platform)
Please note that the gravity drive will stop working at all at 0.5g, and will loose power in lower gravities. It is reccomended to avoid entering planetary garvity fields at all.
The Granizo has limited production capabilities, having assemblers (2) but no refinery, having instead two arc furnaces. Total cargo space is of 328L (large cargo container has 425L)(will vary depending on world settigns)
________________________________________________________________________________

In an ideal situation, the Granizo will engage first, opening with several long range missile strikes to weaken the enemy. In the case the enemy doesnt jump away, a short close quarters combat would follow, completely disabling the target.
If however the Granizo is caught by surprise by the enemy, its recomended for it to use its powerful gravity drive to move out of danger, jump a short distance (5km~), locate the enemy if possible, and retaliate or disengage as needed.

It should be noted that the Granizo doesnt have any hangars for support ships, which makes it less easy to resuply. It can carry support ships on its exterior connectors.

IMPORTANT TOOLBAR KEYS:

TOOLBAR 1
1-Gravity drive on/of.
2-Gatling array doors.
5-Self repair systems.
6-Gravity shield.
7-Turrets on/off.

TOOLBAR 2
1-2-Antennas.
4-Jump drive.
7-Emergency landing parachutes*.

TOOLBAR 3 (torpedo control)
1-Silo doors.
2-Reloading welders.
3-Launch.
4-Guidance camera.

*The parachutes are there for when you are gonna crash in a planet. The ship can this way survive and probably be recovered using local resources to add the thrust needed to make it to orbit.

That's good! Because a ton of your ships made excellent examples.

Is it okay if I add a link to this ship as an example of a Heavy Frigate in my ship classification guide?

The thing holding it back was the new torpedoes, a weird bug didn't allow me to use them in this way

finally you uploaded it to the workshop....and it is not a WH40K build for a change ;p

Awesome! I especially like the detail you put into the description, and how you laid out the combat profile of the ship.
