Inspirational Civ Leaders
By Adam Jensen 007
Hello everyone,
Being fascinated with history and the Civilization series, I have decided to create the List of the leaders that I found most inspiring in the Civ series.
Feel free to include leaders You want here. I am open to suggestions.
What decides who will make the list:
-1) There is a difference between regular warfare and war crimes. Any leader who has committed war crimes will NOT be on the list (Genghis Khan)
-2) Military conquest alone is not enough to make it to this list. The leader must have other accomplishments such as advocacy for human rights, science and art.

Cyrus the Great (Not in Civ 5 But Civ 6)
Cyrus
Military conquests: Cyrus became the king of the 4 corners of the world
He conquered Median empire, Lydian Empire, Asia Minor and Babylon

Human rights and other accomplishments:
-He was an advert supporter of human rights. First person to outlaw slavery and even gave women some rights 2500 years ago (see Cyrus's Cylinder)
-After conquering a civilization, he would allow that civilization keep their customs and traditions. This was the first example of a multicultural society.
-His tolerant views allowed him to Liberate the Jews from Babylon.
-He also created the first postal system in the world.

Ghandi
Ghandi:
Military conquests: None
Human rights and accomplishments: Plenty. Through the form of a hunger strike, Ghandi managed to protest the British colonial rule of India. Rather than using force and violence, Ghandi resorted to civil disobedience to spearhead India's independence. He has inspired many leaders such as Marthin Luther King which ultimately led to the Civil Right's movement
Casimir III
Casmir III
Military conquests: Through diplomacy and military prowess, Casmir III increased the borders of Poland.

Other Achievements: Through his great leadership skills, Casmir III led Poland to experience a great Golden age. Having inherited a kingdom with many problems and challenges such as debt, Casmir III managed to unite the kingdom of Poland. Casmir III improved the welfare of his people by solving Poland's debt problem, strengthening the military and codifying the law. He sorted to diplomacy whenever possible to avoid unnecessary conflict. Like Cyrus, Casmir 3 tried to create a system of equal rights for minority groups (Jewish people)
Teddy Roosevelt (in Civ 6)
Teddy Roosevelt: (Thank you Sam Fissure)
Teddy not only made an effort to preserve forests and wildlife, but also created the National Park System. Rather than reserving the parks for the nobility, Roosevelt gave access to these parks to everyone. This created a huge tourism boost for the United States. Additionally, he prevented the forest industry from overharvesting the rain forests. Therefore, he preserved the forests for future generations including lumbar mills.
Gilgamesh
Military conquests: None
Accomplishments: He created the first work of literature (You can get an achievement in Civ 6 by getting the first great writer as Gilgamesh). He was viewed as a hero by his people in protecting them from Barbarians. Additionally, he ordered the buildings of numerous constructions such as the ziggurats.
Pedro II (Thanks Rafael M)
Military Conquests: Do not think he had any

Major accomplishment: After his father had left him. Pedro II had to study politics in his teens in order to become Brazil's second emperor. He ended Slavery in Brazil and stopped the trafficking of colored people. As a schoalr, Pedro II was fascinated with learning Science and Culture. This ultimately lead many people such as Victor Hugo, Charles Darwin, Friedrich Nietzsche and many others to have a great admiration to him. Brazil, a multicultural country, is home to music from many genres such as Samba, Bossa Nova and eclectic music

Ceaser took over much of Gaul destroyed his rivals and could have become king of Rome had he not been assassinated and the Roman Empire reach it's greatest size under Trajan including the area of Dacia and more of the East, also if your talking Augustas ceaser he united the Empire from it being split by several generals and took new land as well as aquiring Egypt
