Cave here. According to those uptight snobs in the PR department, my pre-recorded messages have been getting a little too... inappropriate lately. Apparently test subjects have been seen sat in the corner sucking their thumbs at the mere mention of that acid we put in the water cooler that melts your teeth. Suckers don't realise that sucking their thumbs will only make their thumbs melt too. Anyway from now on, to avoid terrifying our test subjects before they're even dead, all pre-recorded messages will strictly adhere to a script written by one of those prim and proper PR pansies. Starting now:

"Cave Johnson, CEO of Aperture Science Innovators, here, with a brand new test chamber that's filled with fun, for science! Bean-counters tell me this test is our most non-lethal and perfectly safe one yet! Step inside and experience the wonderment of Propulsion Gel, or you're fired! Say 'I love science', Caroline" - alright I've had enough, who the hell wrote this? A hippie used-car salesman who ate too many rainbows? C'mon, nobody talks like that, especially if that nobody isn't me. I'll be back in a minute to do my own damn talking. In the meantime, I hear the sprinkler system in the PR department needs fixing. I reckon I can acid with that. Assist. What? Did I say acid? I meant assist. Sorry, script threw me off. Cave Johnson, we're done here... for now.

-----------------------------

I've been in a bit of a creative slump recently. I've been getting very frustrated trying to make very ambitious and complex test chambers which never seem to work out, and sit unpublished, gathering dust. I've been very upset, and have felt unappreciated and untalented. I thought I'd solve that problem by going back to basics, and making an easy test chamber in the style of my tests from a few years ago. It was a cathartic experience, and I feel a lot better now.

So, welcome to Catharsis, an easy-medium puzzle focusing on an orange funnel and propulsion gel. I really hope it's as refreshing for you to play as it was for me to build.

Still a great puzzle  I’ve just played Cathartic (which looks fabulous!) and I thought I’d replay the original: intended solution ?

Nice intro-advanced chamber, it's been a while I can solve one of yours in one-sitting.

You are very good at creating maps where you think you know what to do but can find no way to do it...until you sit for a few minutes and think. Not so long that you give up or seek a hint, but not so short that the sense of accomplishment at the end is lost. Took me bit to see the cube/funnel/fizzler respawn to get the cube across to the other side of the fizzler. . Still good, if shorter that some of your others ( recently finished Skyranger, which is on the other side of your length spectrum.

You probably shouldn't tell us that this is the kind of work you put out when you are feeling down...we all might start wishing downright evil things for your mood while you are working on Desolation ;-P <In case the hyperbole of the previous comment was not clear, I am looking forward to your work in Desolation and there is no actual wish for any deterioration of your mood...at least, I think not:p2aperture:>

This puzzle was simple, fun and difficult at the same time, just like what you have described in your videos (I recently had a look at the ones about how to make a good puzzle). Thanks for the fun! :steamhappy:
