Biolapse is a KF2 Biotics Lab themed Holdout/Descent style Map

This is a Holdout map that is a little more difficult than official maps and veterans of the game who play a lot of HoE with teams will find a new challenge here. There are 11 uniquely themed levels and each level will require a different way to approach it - you may find the need for communication and teamwork that previous maps have lacked. Be warned, this is a difficult map, do not expect to complete it solo or as a group on the first go in HoE. :P

This map now supports Endless! It's the first map to do so, so enjoy it and Boom Waves lmao.

There are 10 ‘Golden Fetus Trophy’ collectibles around the map and multiple easter eggs scattered around as well.

This map has been my main focus since April last year, and probably has a good 1000 hours in the development of it. Each level has been rigorously crafted and tested on 6p HoE to make sure that the map delivers a unique strategic and (hopefully) bug-free experience. If you do find anything please report it in the bug thread.

Interesting stats about the map:
  1. 201 custom meshes
  2. 214 combined meshes
  3. 213 custom materials
  4. 824, destructible actors
  5. Every light is destructible..EVERY LIGHT.
  6. 1.5x the size of The Descent (which is approx 6x larger than Manor)
Story
The actions in Biolapse occur after the events of Desolation

The intel from Operation Desolation has provided us with some valuable information on the location of Kevin Clamely. Tied with surveillance footage from one of the largest Horzine Production Facilities in Europe lead us to some troubling news; The Patriarch has returned to the facility, deactivated the containment fail-safes and resumed specimen production. The classified information obtained from the Jungle Installation show that the facility has capabilities to nearly double Zed populations based on what we have already encounted.

There is hope, intel also obtained show that there is a command override that can stop production entirely. However...the override is on the last level of an underground facility beneath the surface - currently occupied by either the Patriarch, or one of his colleagues.

Enter the facility and descend to the depths of the underground installation. Eliminate all specimen outbreaks and stop the facility from any further specimen production. This mission will need to succeed at all costs.

Hey Everyone, long overdue update. Server owners might need to look at this one if you sub to this map.

2 Main things have been changed:
-The Map name has been changed from KF-Biolpase to KF-BiolapseOriginal, so it should no longer conflict with the TWI version.
-The Tentacle Breach/Tank map has had the layout updated to be a bit more balanced

The map still supports Endless as well, so if you haven't already, check it out!

This should be the final update unless there are any major bugs, but from testing I haven't seen any.

i don't like this map when it's not Endless because i don't play survival mode

This don't work for me on endless maybe because this map is now officially out of beta and now in the game but even that can't be played in endless its a shame as i like it but will only play this if endless will work in the near future updates.

I've been talking about such map design for a VERY long time. I don't know if author seen my posts about it or he thought of it himself (great minds think a like ;) ). I fell in love with Descent's unpredictable sequence of submaps and it quickly became my favorite map. Then came Nightmare, but I didn't like it's repetitive submaps which totally killed the feel. Biolapse does it properly and adding Endless it'll be pretty amazing. Can't wait for it to officially roll out in KF2. It's gonna be a very cool event I feel...
