Small Tip : Disable Intro Movies

You can disable intro movies without editing the settings file, to do so follow theses steps:

  • Right-click Aliens: Colonial Marines in you Library and select Properties
  • Hit the Set Launch Options button in the General tab
  • Add the following launch option : -nomovie
  • Hit OK

Vous avez la possibilité de désactiver les vidéos au démarrage du jeu sans avoir à éditer le fichier de configuration, pour ce faire, suivez les instructions suivantes:

  • Cliquez-droit Aliens: Colonial Marines dans votre librairie et sélectionnez Propriétés
  • Cliquez Définir les options de lancement dans l'onglet Général
  • Ajoutez l'option suivante : -nomovie
  • Cliquez OK

No offence but this is obsolete. Refer to http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Aliens:_Colonial_Marines .

1 ) Edit %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Aliens Colonial Marines\PecanGame\Config\PecanEngine.ini

2 ) Change each instance of StartupMovies= to //StartupMovies=

3 ) Save your changes and close the file.

-nomovie has a major down side. It skips all pre-rendered cutscenes.

Good question, I think if the developers included it, it's because when you run the game on regular basis or excessivel, it start being boring to press 5 times the ESC key each time you start.
It's similiar to Valve games and -novid
