# Summary #

The IS-3M is a heavy tank built on so many previous designs it would take a book to list them, this particular blueprint comes from the IS-2 featured here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1120033777, that design was converted into the IS-3 but inherited all of the design flaws present in the previous design, such as a reliable but difficult to modify suspension system, or a turret with large issues relating to rotation. The main problem was the gun. It was built into the vehicle's turret in such a way that it was easy to disable and didn't accept modifications to improve any aspect, such as type of armament or elevation/depression.
This modernisation was, and is an effort to rectify or improve upon those issues, whilst keeping a well proven chassis.

# What's New #

The gun has been fully replaced and moved forwards in the turret, it now has a mantlet that allows for both full protection of the interior elevation mechanism and significant elevation/depression as well as finally being housed fully within the vehicle.

The suspension system has been retained but replaced with a much better constructed version, utilising thinner torsion bars to allow for a more compact mechanism. This compactness has allowed for full armouring of the suspension, as well as a smoother ride in general.

The turret ring has been reconstructed, sacrificing some armour protection for allowing the turret to traverse smoothly in every direction.
