Main Achievements

Welcome Delver
Died, for the first time.
Die for the first time in a real playthrough; the death in the tutorial level is scripted and does not count towards this achievement. This can be done by stepping into traps, dying to mobs, or dealing self-damage via bombs or potions.

Dungeoneering
Make it through the Dungeons.
Survive both floors of the 1st area, the Dungeon, and descend into The Well to unlock this achievement. Enemies faced throughout the level: Bats, Slimes, Small Spiders, Druids, Mages, Thieves.

Spelunking
Make it through the Caves.
Survive both floors of the 2nd area, the Caves, and descend into The Lost City to unlock this achievement. Enemies faced throughout the level: Bats, Eyes, Spiders, Zombies, Goblins, Goblin Warriors.

Washed Away
Make it through the Sewers.
Survive both floors of the 3rd area, the Sewers, and descend into The Breach to unlock this achievement. Enemies faced throughout the level: Vampire Bats, Eyes, Worms, Goblins, Goblin Warriors.

Archeology
Make it through the Ruins.
Survive both floors of the 4th and final area, the Ruins, and descend into Yithidia to unlock this achievement. Enemies faced throughout the level: Animated Skulls, Skeletons, Skeleton Mages, Skeleton Minions.

Run!
Grab the orb.
Interact with The Yithidian Orb to unlock this achievement. This refers to the Orb in the final Yithidia stage, not the one that triggers the scripted death in the Tutorial. In order to gain access to the Orb, players must teleport to the boss room in Yithidia via the altar, then defeat the Lich in the center of the room. A staircase to the Orb will then be revealed; one inventory slot must be kept free to pick up and carry the Orb.

There and Back Again
Escaped with the Orb.
Ascend to the first floor of the Dungeon with the Orb, exit to Camp, read the parting dialogue, and watch the end credits to earn this achievement. After grabbing the Orb in Yithidia, the screen will shake and flash purple as lightning strikes around the player, dealing Burning damage if touched. Players will have to maneuver the level carefully as they make their way back in reverse order carrying the Orb. Skeletons, ghostly apparitions of felled enemies, and the Lich itself will guard the exit to each floor.
Misc Achievements

Treasure Hunter
Find 300 gold in one run.
Money in Delver can spawn as natural dungeon loot, as mob loot, or as drops from crates, barrels, and pots. Players start a new save with 40 gold (assuming no gold is picked up in Camp or the tutorial), which does not count towards this achievement. They must then find 300 additional gold in any single run. Here is a loot table of monetary drops and their value:
  • Golden Candlestick - 5 gold
  • Emerald - 25 gold
  • Coins - 1-50 gold
  • Ruby - 75 gold
  • Diamond - 250 gold

Reaper
Kill 150 monsters in one run.
In a full run, players will encounter 250-350 mobs in total. If each stage of each area is explored fully, and each mob is killed, along with all possible spawners triggered (i.e. cocoons in The Pit and Caves, containers for Slimes and Small Spiders), the player should receive this achievement by the 2nd Sewers stage.

Clumsy
Trip 10 traps in one run.
The player must step on a trapped pressure plate on 10 different occasions in a single run. The same trap can be used after it is re-armed; it is thus recommended to explore the entire level and stock up on healing items before the attempt.

The easiest trap to use for this is likely an explosive trap (-4HP and occasional Burning damage). Stepping through traps that trigger automatically, such as spike or crush traps, does not count towards this achievement.

Thick Skinned
Take 400 damage in one run.
Suffer and (preferably) heal 400 points of damage in a single run. A point of damage is counted once it is deducted from your HP bar. It is possible to inflict damage upon yourself in the following ways:
  • Getting hit by a mob.
  • Stepping on a trap.
  • Falling into lava or pit.
  • Self-damage from wands and explosives.
  • Drinking a poison potion.

Unwell
Become poisoned 10 times in a run.
Gain the 'Poisoned' status effect on 10 different occasions in a single run. It is possible to gain the status effect in the following ways:
  • Sustaining damage from Zombies, Worms, and Spiders.
  • Stepping on a poison trap.
  • Drinking a poison potion.

Gourmand
Chow down on 40 things in one run.
Consume any 40 food items in one run. The item does not actually need to restore HP to count towards the achievement. Note that drinking Cola, despite technically being a food item, does not count towards this achievement (it is considered a potion); kill all mobs and loot all containers to increase odds to find these items.
  • Bread
  • Apple
  • Cheese
  • Meat
  • Steak
  • Ale

Alchemist
Use 15 potions in one run.
Consume any 15 potions during one run. Since players always start a run with a potion, they must find and consume 14 more. The potions do not need to have a positive effect. Both discovered and mystery ('???'), as well as duplicate potions count. Potions are found throughout the dungeon, inside containers, and drop as mob loot.

Well Read
Use 10 scrolls in one run.
Use any 10 scrolls during one run. The effect does not need to apply fully. Duplicate scrolls can be used. To speed this process up, scrolls can be purchased from the Wizard before delving into the Dungeon, as well as the Hooded Figure in The Breach. Scrolls are found throughout the dungeon, inside containers, and drop as mob loot.

Magician
Zap wands 300 times in one run.
Use a total of 300 wand charges during one run. Charge amount depends on wand type, as well as the level of Magic the player possesses. The wands with the largest amount of charge are Missile Wands; it is thus recommended to save those while leveling up Magic each opportunity the player gets.

At Magic Lvl. 7 (or around the Sewers stage) players will be able to zap:
- Missile Wands - 54-64 times.
- Ice Wands - 27 times.
- Fire Wands - 9-19 times.
- Paralyze Wands - 9 times.

Worn armor can further increase Magic levels, assuming the right article of clothing is found. These wands can then be spent all at once to gain this achievement.

WTF
Identify 5 items in a run.
Weapons, armor and potions can often have an undiscovered effect; this will be shown as a '???' tooltip below the item in the inventory. Consuming an unknown potion and seeing a "This must be..." popup counts toward the achievement, as well as using a Scroll of Identify while items with a '???' tooltip are present in the player's inventory. The scroll does not work on currently equipped armor, off-hand items, and accessories.

Wall Hunter
Find 5 secret areas in one run.
Areas that are found with a "A secret has been revealed!" popup count towards this achievement. Hidden paths behind walls, and crevices with loot in them, do not necessarily count towards this achievement unless said popup is displayed.

Three of the four intermission areas between the stages of the dungeon - The Well, the Lost City, and the Breach - have a "secret" to "discover", meaning the player is only required to discover two "real" secrets during one playthrough.
  • The Well - Head north, over the bridge, and into the abandoned mineshaft; destroy the blocked off sections until you reach The Pit. Inside The Pit, descend into the spider nest and find the key hidden behind the pillar. Interacting with said key triggers the popup.
  • The Lost City - Head west, destroy the blocked off sections until you find a staircase going up into a small library with paintings on the wall. Approaching the table triggers the popup.
  • The Breach - Reaching this secret requires a Scroll of Levitation; on the way down towards the exit, levitate above the small 2-tile lava pool next to the ladder.
NPC Achievements

Storyteller
Listened to the wise.
Interact with the Old Man at Camp after a run on 5 different occasions. Each time a minor piece of the story will be revealed. On the 4th time the Old Man will speak about the lost city of Vyr, so the player can tell they're on the right track. On the 5th he will concede that they must escape, at which point the achievement will unlock.

Mages Guild
Bought something from the Wizard.
Buy any one item from the Wizard at Camp after they're finished talking.
The cheapest possible scroll costs 90 coins.

Joff's Supplies
Bought something from Joff.
Buy any one item from Joff at Camp after he's finished talking.
The cheapest possible item is a bundle of arrows for 5 gold.
Note that the NPC at The Well looks like Joff, but is actually Joff's brother, and buying from him does not trigger the achievement.

Skills in a Jar
Buy a magical elixer from Joff.
Buy the Strange Elixer from Joff; it is the last item in his catalogue, and costs 250 gold. Drinking the elixer immediately allows the player to level up, and unlocks this achievement.

Belt it On
Buy a Belt Slot.
Buy a Belt Slot upgrade from the Hooded Figure in The Well for the first time. This upgrade can be rarely found in breakable containers, and counts toward the achievement. This upgrade can also be spawned with the Debug menu to unlock this, however in the game the upgrade will be temporary.

Bring it All
Buy a Backpack Slot.
Buy a Backpack Slot upgrade from the Hooded Figure in The Well for the first time. This upgrade can be rarely found in breakable containers, and counts toward the achievement. This upgrade can also be spawned with the Debug menu to unlock this, however in the game the upgrade will be temporary.

Suspenders Required
Max out on Belt Slots.
Increase the Belt Slot amount from 5 to 9; this is not the "max" amount possible as implied by the description, however the achievement unlocks after the 9th slot is purchased from the Hooded Figure in The Well (an additional slot can still be purchased afterwards to a total of 10).

Lift With Your Back
Max out on Backpack Slots.
Increase the Backpack Slot amount from 18 to 36 by continuously purchasing Backpack Slot upgrades from the Hooded Figure in The Well. This is likely the hardest achievement to obtain as it requires serious grinding for money on the player's part.

Backpack drops are rare, but obtainable. They will disappear after your death or completion. It is not permanent like the upgrade purchased through the vendor.

Regardless, I haven't witnessed it in adding to the 'Lift With Your Back' achievement as I have had 30 slots with that drop (29 slots + 1 backpack drop) and without that drop after upgrading (30 slots + 1 backpack drop).

Unless the developer expanded it from 30 to 36 then this achievement is officially bugged. It was already a challenge in securing gold with how scarce it appears (thanks RNG) and the low quantity it yields per drop.

@Zapstur I was the one who added that part in. Very rarely, you can find singular backpack/pocket upgrades in the form of in-world loot that raise their respective cap for that run only. They should count towards these achievements.

Backpack upgrades... From DROPS? Never heard of that. I will have to do research later to see if that is vanilla, or if it is a modded thing. When I initially wrote the guide, the only way to get backpack upgrades was from buying them from the first merchant inside the dungeon. Also, the maximums were 10 belt slots and 30 backpack slots. I'll do some testing later and get back to you on that.

im looking for any real info at this point im not restarting the 3 times over again not knowing when it suppose to unlock some ppl have made it as far as 36 and still no achievement...the upgrade are costing as much 5200g which take almost 3 full runs to even afford...gonna have to go to desprite measures

maybe picking up backpack upgrades from drops might be the issue but no one seems to know

The achievement may be bugged. The maximum backpack size hasn't increased since this guide was written, and that is the number of slots I had when it unlocked. The only other possibility is a little misunderstanding as to what counts as a backpack slot. To keep things simple, everything below the hot bar (the belt) is what counts as backpack slots, just make sure to not count the belt, since that is for a separate achievement.

@Zapstur If you are able to, send me a friend request so you can then select me as a Contributor on the list. I will then be able to edit the guide as if it were my own and no further input from you is needed! The option should look like this. [i.imgur.com]

Thanks, and have a great day!

Seems like a good idea, but it will have to wait until I have time to work with you on it. Not sure what happened to your request, I never received one. Gonna have to look into that as well.

@Zapstur I have sent you a friend request in hopes of being able to contribute to this guide, as I have more information to share on some of these achievements. It seems my request was denied and I am not able to send another one; I'd love to help!

I have written and contributed to other achievement guides in the past, you can find some of them on my profile. Please do reconsider :)
