Villers Bocage (WIP)

Description
The battle of Villers Bocage took place on June 13th, 1944 - just a week after D-Day.

After failing to capture the city of Caen on D-Day, the Allies needed to take it before the new front created by the invasion became stagnant. The town of Villers Bocage is located on the left flank of the German position around Caen, and if captured would allow the Allies to break though and encircle the city.

A British armoured column made up of the famous Desert Rats soon captured the town with no resistance. However, soon afterwards, the high hedgerows and the legendary German tank commander Michael Wittman made the battle one of the worst single actions for any British armoured unit in the European war.

This is my first map and has some issues, feedback would be much appreciated and I will be updating the map as often as I can.

Hi A.Max, currently the map is compiled without HDR which could explain the weird lighting. I am also aware of the issues concerning bots and will try to iron these problems out over time but thanks for the feedback!

Is it only me, or the map lacks shadows, bots and general lighting a.k.a. looks all weird?

Hey there Conka there are some very very nice little effects you have managed to get in, from a fully rotating windmill to a burnt out Electric cable that shorts out randomly and a very nice burst watermain effect. It does have some performance issues which sadly are not easy to identify but as a first attempt i have to say its just fantastic. We have played it several times now and as a map it flows very well. If I had to offer a couple of observations I would say that the 1st Axis spawn is a little far away from the 1st defense spot (a) but thats just my opinion and the main church in the centre of the mapseems to have a texture glitch as ytou approach it from certain angles the stonework disappears but once again that could have been my pc Perhaps if the texture issue is map related that may account for the framedrop.... However the progression through the map is great though. look forward to testing again. Thank you for making such an entertaining map

Thanks, Conka. We played the map in "Offensive" mode, which is multiplayer and everyone really enjoyed it. The map needs optimised to help everyone with their framerates whilst playing it.
