Era - 1940s / 1950s - Boxing - Middleweight

A rough character in and out of the ring, Jake LaMotta was known for his incredible toughness and relentless pressure. His series of fights with Sugar Ray Robinson at Middleweight defined his career, as did his victory over Marcel Cerdan.

LaMotta's life was famously covered in the unflinching 1980 film Raging Bull, and LaMotta himself trained Robert DeNiro to take on the role.
