Final Boss Fight Detailed Guide

This is a detailed guide to defeating the final boss in Machina of The Planet Tree. Due to the lack of guides and my endless desire to procrastinate, I only decided to make a guide at the very end game. In fact, I am making this guide while playing so there may be some unlisted information. This is my first time making a guide so feel free to use this guide and copy it to a more detailed walkthrough if it exists in the future, and please do credit and inform me :)

Party Loadout
Cram: Cronos Gear, an upgrade from Broken Unit 4, it has higher stats in everything compared to Detonator Unit. And it increases Max cost by 3 so that’s a great bonus.

Retla: Skanda’s Swords, for more Agility compared to Assassin Blades. And it increases Max cost by 4(One up from Assassin Blades). I’m not using Twin Fencer (from Broken Twin Swords 4) because I’m having issues with collecting Fenrir Fangs.

Esty: Arched Roah, an upgrade from Broken Orb 4, it has higher stats in everything compared to Demon’s Jewel. And it increases Max cost by 4!!!!!

Be sure to purchase the Unlimiter from the General Store (one for each character) and equip them into their accessory slot for an additional 2 max cost!

My party is at Level 75 from all the grindings I made thus far. If you have any trouble collecting loot, do check out this post of where you can find loot.

Boss Attacks
There may be some unlisted attacks as I am playing while making this guide.

Gerthiem:
- All his attacks would heal himself 50k HP
- Normal Attack would deal 3k dmg
- Trihalf would deal about 2.5k-3.5k dmg to your party and also heal himself the amount of dmg he dealt to your party (life steal)
- Curse Spell would deal 1.5k dmg and reduce Agility of party members

Unawakened Apocalypse:
- All his attacks will heal himself 70k HP
- Ether Flash would deal about 1-2k dmg to all party members and may inflict debuffs such as burn, stun or paralysis.
- Femto Core would deal about 4.5-5K dmg to one party member

Apocalypse share the same attacks as in its Unawakened State with the Green and Purple having an extra move.

Green Apocalypse:
- Life Storm would deal about 3.5k dmg and heal himself the amount of dmg he dealt to your party (life steal)
Purple Apocalypse:
- In the purple state, he will heal himself 105k instead of the normal 70k at the end of his turn.
- Absolute Defense would deal 2.5k dmg to one party member
- Network Linkage will heal himself an additional 105k. Yes thats 210k healed at the end of his turn. I hate him.
Battle Strategy - Part 1
In this attempt I tried to aim Gerthiem first since he has more resist and any AoE dmg would be transferred to Unawakened Apocalypse anyway. It’s good to have evasion on and I will activate Defender Shift prior to any Attack to ensure party survivability. Another method of consideration which I used is to not spend all your Cost on attacks just to chain for bigger damage. The boss fight focuses more on duration and survivability rather than killing fast. So don’t be afraid to break your combo chain just to pull some Assist moves as shown in my gameplay below.

Just when you thought it is over…

Here comes Apocalypse.

He would change attributes from time to time, ranging between Red, Green and Purple. You would find yourself struggling over Green and Purple due to minor weakness changes. However, patience and small damage numbers would reward you when he changes back to Red and you can deal your usual combo. Yes the combo from the first fight still works!

great guide! perhaps you should add the skill multiplier too instead of writing it as "weak" and "resist" because it helps a lot.

as for the apocalypse, i didn't encounter the purple version (perhaps because i defeated the boss too fast), but when the boss turns to green, you can deal a lot of damage with cram's gatling raid
(to stack up the combo count) + gravity noire combo. just add the overdrive version on it whenever you want; i usually use it when the TP bar is reaching 100. fyi, i dealt 1 mil+ damage in a single turn from it.

i'm too lazy to find the combo for retla because kagura dance of night, the only dark skill element that she has, only has 2x multiplier, but as for esty, you can spam mutiny dirge on the boss (perhaps you can combo it with rondo light and shadow to stack the combo count or something) because the multiplier increases to 4x when the boss turns green. i personally only use her for healing tho so i didn't really think that much about it.
