Introduction
Game Version 0.5.3

This Tutorial is about importing Custom Music and how to trigger it in the Map Editor using the Event-System.

At the moment only Background Music is supported. That means music will automatically be played in a Loop. More complex audio functions to be added in the future.

You will find more resources about the Event-Editor at the bottom of this page
Audio Format and Conversion
First thing you need to know

Custom Music files must be in OGG-Fileformat.

Converter
You can basically use any proper Audio-Editor to convert your music to OGG-fileformat.
Here are some free sources you can use

Desktop App
- Audacity - https://www.audacityteam.org/
available for Windows, Mac, GNU/Linux

Online Converter
- Audio Converter https://online-audio-converter.com/
- Convertio https://convertio.co/mp3-ogg/

File Directory - Preparing to import
Put your Ogg-Musicfile into this Directory
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\GolfIt\Saved\Importer

You can even create a fancy Subdirectory for Music
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\GolfIt\Saved\Importer\Music

Now make sure to turn Music ON in the Options-Menu

Importing to Game
In the Main Menu click on

> Editor > Importer > Audio

You should see this

.
On the next screen click
> Import All

.

Add Music to Map
Open the Editor, create a new map or open any of your existing maps.

Hit ESC on your keyboard to open the Save menu
click on
> Add Music/Sounds to map

choose your files and click
> Add selected to Music

.

At this point you can set your Music to be played throughout the map.
Under Custom Music select the music you just added.

.

If you want to trigger many different audio files on your map follow the next steps

Event Editor - Trigger Audio
Open the Asset menu and place an Event object
> TAB > Gameplay > Event

.

Here is a simple example lane with an Event object

.
In our example Music gets triggered when the Ball touches the blue cube in the middle (Begin Overlap).

Right-Click on the Event object.
On the top left side (Begin Overlap) click on
> WORLD
open the World dropdown menu and choose
> Music > and click the "+" icon to add it to the list

.

Click on Music from the list and choose your imported Music

.
Close this window and test it out now. Enjoy your Music.

You can do much more complex stuff with it.

My audio clip shows within the importer but I'm not sure if it's actually importing as it doesn't show in within the event customisation

イベントのBegin Overlapに音楽を追加しましたが音楽が鳴りません。どうすれば良いでしょうか?(I added music to Begin Overlap of the event, but the music doesn't play. What should i do?)

@ekomanic > Thanks for the answer, it works when i upload it for friends only. Probably not in the Editor, but we can handle that.

@Lady Shalltear > I don't think music works for others while in Editor mode. Save your map, upload "friends only" and test it there.
