How To Revert FTL To Old Versions
By SYSTEM GLITCH
Maybe you want to use the old fonts and old UI. Maybe your favourite mods no longer work. Whatever your issue, this is the guide for you! This guide will allow you to revert FTL back to an older version of the game.

Now expanded to include 1.6.7 along with 1.5.13

If you found this useful, give a thumbs up! Thank you!

Steps to take
Basically what you want to do is open up the Steam Console: steam://nav/console

I'm having problems with Steam formatting here, when I test the link Steam claims that the link may be malicious, but it is not; so enter
steam://nav/console
into your browser and it should open this:

Click Open Link and it will open up the console in your Steam Client.

Enter into the console:

For version 1.5.13:
download_depot 212680 212681 3032798599689269105

For version 1.6.7:
download_depot 212680 212681 928569786008768839

It will download the old depo and tell you the location it is saved to once it is complete. Back that folder up into a safe location (you can rename it).

Copy the contents of that folder directly into your FTL folder, and then launch FTL the same way you always have. Enjoy the old version of FTL!

You can find FTL's folder by right clicking FTL in your games list, select "properties", go to the "Local Files" tab, and select "Browse Local Files..."

If the game ever updates, just copy the contents of the depo download back into the FTL folder again.

This is what your FTL will look like again (1.5.13):

I'm having trouble reverting to 1.5.13. Launching through steam does nothing, while if I launch the executable directly, I get an error saying that my computer is missing SDL.dll

Which installer did you use?

Oh, there's been some progress on their end then. It used to be it required a specific version.

Multiverse mod works fine without me having to revert FTL versions. I believe the official installer or whatever takes care of that part for us.

I wasn't really paying attention, but point is, I freshly installed FTL, and then installed Multiverse and it worked without a hitch. Should work just as easy for you.

I think that particular mod works ONLY on that specific windows version, not on mac.Try running it in wine/proton steamplay.

Hey, trying to install hyperverse on a mac, but it also requires 1.6.9. And they provide no way to downgrade for mac. Anyone figure out how to downgrade to 1.6.9 on a mac?
