In my opinion, the coast levels are the best in Synergy. Simply put: driving some vehicles while kicking combine bum with your friend next to you is fun!

However, let's just say that you have a crap ton of friends, but the buggy only has two seats. Because of that, you guys try to type a ton of commands in chat, but nothing comes up because the server you're playing on doesn't support the "votecar" feature.

Fortunately, there's a solution for that! Throughout the coast levels, there are some vehicles other than the buggy that you can drive, and more than two people can enter on them!

So, without further a do, let's get started!

This is the first level in the Highway 17 chapter. Basically, this is the beginning of the coast portion of the game.

However, since that you and your friends ain't a one man army, there should be a vehicle that allows more than two people to get into!

Fortunately, there are already two vehicles available at the beginning of this chapter:

They are located near this lambda cache near the tunnel.

The van is faster but it can only carry 7 people, while the truck is slower but it can carry 8 people and it is easier to aim for your buddies that are sitting in the back, tho keep in mind that they can possibly take more damage because of that!

Keep in mind that this is the only time that you'll ever get the van in the whole game! The next vehicles are just trucks, so make sure that the driver knows what they're doing if you don't want to lose this vehicle!

Yeah, apparently the number jumps from 1 to 3. Looks like the Synergy team doesn't like the number 2, just as much as Valve hates the number 3, heh.

Enough of the puns. But let's just say that another buddy of yours joined the server or you lost the truck/van during the process.

Fortunately, there's a van below the first abandoned house you find!



There's also a truck in this barn area infested with Combine Soldiers.




It's located below the third house you find in this level. Make sure to clean the area first then get into the truck by going into the building instead of the beach! Otherwise, have your shotty ready because a crap ton of antlion will come up!

This, for some reason, is my favorite coast level. Probably because Drums and Riffs/Tau 9 plays once you get to the car magnet thing.

So, here's the next truck placement:



It's located before the broken car traffic jam thing.

Remember to take down that godamn gunship and clear the path before entering the truck!

Unless you are between d2_coast_1 and dr_coast_3, there are a few things you can do:

• Ask the server admin if he/she can spawn a car.
  
• See if the server has a car votemenu.

The cool thing about these two options is that there are more car options you can choose from. For example, it's possible to spawn an airboat, a jalopy, or even a elite jeep car! However, not all servers have an votemenu or an admin playing.

So, if you lost your vehicle and none of the options above can happen, stick with the boring 2-seat jeep car. At least it has a tau cannon huh.

For example, in this picture you can see a van breeding with a scout car. Scientists in Black Mesa East have speculated that the offspring would be the Jalopy in Episode 2.
