Purge's Guide to Tidehunter Offlane

Tidehunter is a very powerful teamfight hero that has a good ability to offlane(suicide lane SOLO)! This guide is not advisable for a support Tide, as the skill build is different. Anchor smash helps him last hit while harassing, and the -damage it provides stacking with stout shield means that his survivability when running away early game is very high. From there, you try to sap exp until you hit level 6, and then try to gank or participate in a teamfight!

Farm an arcane and blink dagger and you're as effecitve as you need to be! Landing a fight changing Ravage is the best feeling. Give Tide a try!

The right items and the skill build seems ok. This guide is slightly outdated since the last patch though. Anchor smash gives 60% damage reduction in 6.81, so most offlaners will skip the stout shield and be safe until a couple levels in kraken shell. Usually you then get another early point in kraken shell. Also, there is no mention of ancient stacking and farming, which is one of the main reasons he is picked now. You can use anchor smash on a stacked ancient camp and tank all of the damage now, then farm it yourself or give it to your carry. Especially good on dire offlane where the ancient camp is closer.

If you get Shiva's and Refresher you can hit them with a ravage, shiva's, refresh, ravage, shiva's. Might be handy for drawn out team fights

I think kraken shell and stout shield will stack in how they both have a chance to proc separate instances, making it a completely legitimate early game item.
