The game starts off with you taking a phone call from your friend Cristoforo and after arranging to meet him at the bar, the bar owner Mario arrives at your front door. After exhausting all conversation options with Mario you notice a wound on his arm and you offer to tend to it for him.

Head into the bathroom and grab the emergency kit from the cabinet above the sink and the needle, thread and silicone gun from the tray to the right of the sink, then before leaving, interact (right click) with the bidet (the thing that looks like the toilet with a tap faucet in place of a seat and lid) and this achievement is yours.

James Murphy, Doctor.

Finish the tutorial by stitching Mario's wound.
After collecting the emergency kit, needle and thread, and interacting with the bidet, right click on the emergency kit in your inventory to unpack it, then combine the cotton with the peroxide obtained from the kit and head back into the other room.

Turn on the stove and drag the needle from your inventory onto the stove to sterilise it, then combine the sterilised needle and thread in your inventory by dragging one atop the other. Next clean up Mario's wound with the soaked cotton by dragging it onto him, then stitch the wound by using the needle and thread on him and lastly use the gauze to bandage his wound and earn this achievement.

The Game is on.

Find the first clues about the Cristoforo investigation.
Upon arrival at Santa Brigida's House after the cut scene, take the notepad and the IN NOME DE DIO book, then examine the book of Psalms, strap and blood splatter and then click on the exit to earn this achievement.

Harder path.

Solve a puzzle using the calendar at home.
*MISSABLE*
After leaving Santa Brigida's House go back to James' House, open your inventory and examine the copy of IN NOME DE DIO to discover 5 pictures of Saints being used as bookmarks. Click on the first picture/bookmark and you will exit the book and remove the pictures which will appear in your inventory as "Holy Pictures".

Use the holy pictures on the calendar on the wall, to the right of the fridge to note the date of which each of the saints is celebrated, after which this achievement will pop.

Zen Master.

Survive a conversation with Anna Marano.
Upon arrival at the Co-Operative Credit Bank of Ostia, speak with Anna Marano (sat on the chair to the left) and exhaust all conversation options with her which will lead to the customer at the desk leaving the bank, then Speak with Paola Marano (behind the desk). Once you have exhausted all conversation options with Paola, speak once again with Anna and when prompted speak with her about the book of Prayers on the table.

When Anna asks you to prove that you were once a priest, click on the Bible in your inventory (you don't have to give it to Anna just click on it), she accepts this as proof and allows you to look at the Book of Prayers.

Click on the book on the table to pick it up and click on it in your inventory to examine it. Underneath the writing on the left page is a lump, drag the scalpel from your inventory onto the lump to obtain the small medal hidden within. Examine the medal in your inventory to make a note of the inscription in your notepad and then return the book back to Anna.

Anna then persuades you (blackmails you) into speaking with her daughter, after which this achievement pops.

James the Sinner.

Get ready for hell by ruining sister Candida.
After leaving the Co-Operative Credit Bank of Ostia, head to Santa Brigida's House. Upon arrival you witness the nun having a cheeky sip of the hard stuff and hiding the empty bottle behind her. When you regain control of James, click on the empty bottle that she has hidden and then offer her the bottle of Grappa from your inventory and after the ensuing conversation this achievement is yours.

Cyberspace Surfer.

Complete successfully your first online search.
After obtaining Cristoforo's keys from Santa Brigida's House head back to James' house. Click on the laptop to interact with it and then click on the Web Search Engine icon, the search engine opens up and your notepad will appear along side with your notes of the medal inscription. Thankfully, you do not have to type everything in yourself, just click on the inscription text (Ecclesiam Sancti Leonis de Leprignano) on your notepad and then click search and this achievement is yours.

Cheap James.

Corrupt the Capena church keeper.
Upon arriving at the Capena Church a conversation ensues with the Curate, exhaust all conversation options and once drawn to a close click on the window furthest to the left and then click on the drape covering the lectern.

The Curate is not best pleased when you try to take the drape, so grease his palm by dragging the wallet from your inventory to the Curate to offer a donation (bribe), in exchange you get a Postcard and this achievement.

Take That, Dr. Jones

Solve the most cryptic puzzle left by Cristoforo.
After the Curate leaves the Capena Church again, click on the drape to take it this time without resistance and then drag it from your inventory to the candle snuffer (the pole leaning up against the pillar, underneath and to the left of the middle window).

Then drag the drape and candle snuffer combo from your inventory over the window on the far right and after the cut scene manipulate the drape with your mouse (right click to rotate) so that the bottom horizontal section of the staff aligns as a cross over the centre cross of the window frame. This will reveal a hiding place and the achievement will be yours.

Attentive Reader.

Face an adventure clichè: the diary!
After the cut scene revealing the hiding place in the Capena Church, James automatically moves towards and crouches in front of the secret hiding place... and then stands back up. Once you regain control over James, drag Crisotofo's keys over the niche (the hiding place) and you will gather a cell phone and diary curing the cut scene.

Examine the diary collected from the niche in your inventory, clicking on the edge of the right hand pages to turn the page, make sure to read (you do not have to read, just view) all pages. When trying to turn the page from December 4th 2007, you will write an entry in your notepad about a company called DreamRes.

The final page is dated December 21, 2008, once you reach this page, click off to the side of the book to exit and this achievement is yours.

Not Afraid of Pixel Hunting.

Find something that belonged to the jeweler.
After reading Antonio Marano's diary, head back to James' House and use the cell phone in your inventory with the laptop. The pin number that you are prompted for was found on the notepad when you searched the items at Santa Brigiada's House, it's 3795.

A single folder containing a single file is found, click on it and watch the cut scene and a photo is added to your inventory of the person in the video, click on it to examine it.

Click on the laptop again and open up the Web Search Engine, your notepad will appear alongside bearing the name DreamRes, click on this and then the search box to find information about the company.

Information about DreamRes in hand leave the house and head to the Piazza Farnese and click on the Jewellers (to the left of Santa Brigiada's House), then drag the picture (screenshot obtained when viewing the video on Cristoforo's cell phone) over the Jewellers and you will automatically approach the store entrance.

Click on the interphone (intercom) to the right of the door and the owner will come out to speak with you, exhaust all conversation options and the owner will leave you and return to his store, as he does he drops his cigar, pick it up and this achievement is yours.

Lights Off.

Follow the car to its destination without making mistakes.
*MISSABLE*
With the Jewellery Store owners cigar butt in hand, drag the cigar butt to the photo in your inventory to make a connection and click on the interphone once again to bring the owner back out. This time around drag the cigar butt onto the store owner which results in him opening up about the man in the photo and the location Raja is added to your map.

Head to the Raja club and a cut scene plays, at the end of which you have to play a little mini-game where you have to follow a car leaving the club, if you follow the car without making a mistake the achievement is yours. (Puzzle solution can be found in video walkthrough part 10 at the 0m22s mark).

Look, A Bush!.

It's not pixel hunting if you have a magnifier...

After completing the mini-game following the car you will find yourself hiding behind your little red car in the distance with a bodyguard standing in front of a red sports car in the forefront, which you need to examine, which isn't going to happen with the bodyguard there.

When the bodyguard has his back to you (facing towards the red sports car) hold the spacebar down, which will show a small magnifying glass on all the intractable objects in the environment, and this achievement will pop.

Mysterious Password.

...it maybe makes sense in another game?
While the bodyguard is facing away from you drag Cristoforo's cell phone from your inventory to the bush and with the bodyguard still facing away from you, then click on the trash can (the big dumpster) to move towards and hide behind it and then click on your cell phone in your inventory.

The ringing of Cristoforo's phone will draw the bodyguard away from the red sports car, allowing you to approach (don't worry he won't come back over). First, click on the car to examine it, then click on the rear license plate which is too dirty to read, so clean it by dragging your last piece of soaked cotton from your inventory to the licence plate.

Partial licence plate written down in your notepad, head to Mario's Bar. Speak with Mario and he gets in touch with his niece to help discover the car owner's details, it seems she is too busy to help and so simply hands over her login details for you to find the answer yourself.

Login details at hand, head back to your house and click on the laptop and then click on the motor vehicle department icon that has magically appeared on your desktop. A login screen will appear with your notepad beside bearing Mario's niece's login details.

Unlike when you searched the web, this time around you have to type the details in yourself, so type in her ID and password (tabbing between boxes does not work) and click the Enter button, this achievement will then pop.

Ho ho ho!

Try entering from the chimney on December 24th.
*MISSABLE*
Once logged in to the Department Motor Vehicles you are prompted to enter the car registration, enter it exactly as it shows on the notepad (VK-3C*G2) and a list of potential matches are shown. Of those listed there are two "Luxury cars" which are candidates, the one you are after is VK3C7G2, click on it to obtain details of the owner, the location of which will be added to your map.

Head over to Evola's Mansion, click on the gate on the far left, the CCTV camera on the post to the right of the gate, the damaged section of the fence (wall) to the right of the camera and the garbage bin to examine them all.

Upon examining the latter a cut scene will play out, stood upon the garbage bin use the scalpel in your inventory to cut the power to the CCTV camera and click on the damaged fence to enter the property.

Once again grab your scalpel and this time drag it over the sheet covering the car to cut off and take a section of it. Then click on the scaffolding next to the house to climb up, somehow you manage to have a little accident and to continue climbing up you need to drag Cristoforo's keys on to the scaffold, not sure exactly how or why but there you go.

Now on the roof of the house drag the sealant gun from your inventory (that you obtained at the start of the game) over the patio doors to seal them shut.

Before continuing unless you happen to be playing on the 24th December you will need to change your computers date to the 24th December (time/year is irrelevant). To do this Alt/Tab to Desktop right click on the time in your taskbar and select "Adjust Date/Time".

Disable "Set time automatticly", then click the "change" button below "Change date and time", set the date to 24th December and to be on the safe side, change the time to 1pm. With the date set, switch back to the game and click on the chimney to earn this achievement.

Once the achievement is out of the way remember to enable set time automatically, which will auto set and correct your computer time (if you are connected to the internet).

Lots of Space Here...

Bring a sexy lady back home.
Once you have set the correct date and time on your computer, drag the sheet (that you cut from the car cover) from your inventory to the chimney and a long cut scene will play out.

Cut scene over, you will find yourself in control of a female character (Silvia), in James apartment and this achievement will pop.

Audere Semper.

Elisa, we hold you in our hearts.

To earn this achievement during your initial conversation when James asks your name, lie and tell him it's Elisa Flavi and this achievement is yours.

Math Ace.

Get the calculation wrong twice.

After telling James your real name he asks you to answer to a math problem to assess your mental faculties, to earn this achievement first reply "7", then "Make Fun" and then the achievement is yours.

Thrilled Face.

Complete Shadows on the Vatican Act I.
After telling James the correct answer to his question, he will ask you further questions about how you feel, why you have a gun and why you have a picture of James and (I assume) Cristoforo. I don't think your reply to these questions matters, but for the record, I replied "I could be better", "I use it for self defence" and "I stole it" in that order.

James then goes to bed and the game skips forward 2 hours.

Back in control of Silvia, turn the lamp on (on the table by the sofa), take the pillow on the sofa, the blanket by the right of the TV and the rag (they mean mop) from the mop and bucket in the top right. Then combine the pillow with the blanket and then the pillow and then combine blanket combo with the rag (mop) in your inventory.

Drag the puppet you have just created from your inventory to the sofa, turn the lamp off and walk behind the boxes in the bottom left of the room, a cutscene will play, the game will end and this achievement is yours.

Dialogue Skipper.

Complete the adventure in less than two hours.
*MISSABLE*
To earn this achievement, simply complete Shadows on the Vatican - Act I: Greed in under 2 hours, I didn't skip any dialogue and I managed to complete the game without about 10 mins to spare.
