Hitboxes - Fishbunjin (0.8.6) (Out of Date)
By Doodley
All of Fishbunjin's hitboxes in gifs at about 15% speed. Current version as of writing: 0.8.6. Fish's hitboxes were universally updated to now include his arms, making most hitboxes out of date. Will update eventually. Download all the gifs here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=19jSoUFDOJFKbWDSI2I5TCXrC6DeJZjn8

Explanation
Hitboxes are the underlying data that control when a character is hit/grabbed/invincible, etc. in almost all fighting games. Below are the hitboxes for Fishbunjin in gif form so they're easy to view, share and reference. All gifs are about 15% speed. The gifs start the frame before the attack begins, and end a frame after the attack ends.

Hitbox Types

  • Yellow: Hurtbox. When a red hitbox comes into contact with a yellow hurtbox, you or your opponent(s) receive damage. Hurtboxes are always active unless the character is in another "state such as the ones above, even when a attack's hitbox is active.
  • Red: Hitbox. Vice versa. Most hitboxes only appear for a few frames compared to hurtboxes, called "active" frames. Hurtboxes are still active, and an attacking character can still be attacked even through the hitbox.
  • Blue: Invincibility. Dodging, teching, ledge climbing, etc. They replace hurtboxes and are active from frame 1, but not near the last few frames, leaving characters vulnerable for a moment. Shields are colored the same thing.
  • Purple: Grab. Ignores shields and activates an animation and grabbed state if it comes in contact with a hurtbox. All characters have a grab.
  • Green: Super Armor. Does not flinch when attacked, but still takes damage.

Notes
All gifs were collected by me. No credit is needed, but appreciated.

All gifs can be sped up without any file size issues. A website like this one https://ezgif.com/speed/ can speed up the gif fine so you can view it at 100% speed. (300% is close to in-game.)

I plan on including frame data for each attack once the frame data collection is complete -- for now I'm just offering the gifs for every attack.

alright cool bro, great work despite being outdated as it was relevant before the patch

RIP this guide. I'll remake eventually (probably close to release) but put up a notice for now.

you may need to remake the guide, fish'S hitbox got arms added and he doesnt get any hyper armor from downstrong if he goes in the abyss

I was wondering what the orange hitbox was, thanks. I figured it was armor but I couldn't find any moves that wouldn't flinch during idle.

fishbunjin also has his own state of hurtbox when idling, simply moving around that is orange, which means he doesnt flinch from ittle dew's bomb contact and jenny fox's side special.
