Introduction
The point of this guide is to not only convince players that it is worth their time to investigate other worlds, but also to teach them how to handle any problems they encounter relating to these other worlds.
What You Can Find in Other Worlds
Other worlds are significantly different from Ardania. All of them are significantly smaller, and are the exact same size. Their size does not appear to be affected by the map size chosen when setting up the game. Unlike in Ardania, there are no neutral cities in otherworlds. Certain resources are also much more common, and other worlds have some unique resources not found in Ardania. Computer players completely ignore other worlds, except for occasionally sending a scout in. The monsters that spawn here are also significantly stronger than those found in Ardania.

Resources
There are a couple of important resources to look for in other worlds which can be incredibly useful but also incredibly hard to find in Ardania. Be on the lookout for
  • Gems
  • Adamantium
  • Nevril
  • Holy Grounds
  • Dragon Eggs
  • Golden Dragon Eggs
Gems, adamantium, and nevril can all give powerful perks to your units that will make them far more durable. Holy grounds allow you to build temples, and are far more common in other worlds than in Ardania. Dragon Eggs and Golden Dragon Eggs cannot be found in Ardania. Dragon eggs can be used to train Red Dragons, or can be used for powerful race specific buildings that produce heaps of gold, food, or mana. There should be exactly one resource of Golden Dragon Eggs per world, and it can be used to produce Golden Dragons which are the strongest unit players can recruit in a city.

Enemies
The most powerful enemies in the game appear only in other worlds, but many creatures found in Ardania can also be found here. Undead monsters, werewolves, imps, demons, and wolves are all very common. if the world you happen to find contains a body of water, you can expect any of the sea monsters found in Ardania to appear there.

Elementals and dragons are also extremely common here. Players can expect to encounter numerous earth, fire, and greater fire elementals, making death magic a poor choice for invading these realms. Dragons and Shadows of Vendral will spawn from dragon nests, and cannot be attacked by non-flying melee units. Ranged units with spirit or elemental magic are the best units for dealing with these threats.

Supreme units can occasionally spawn as late-game quests in Ardania, but are much more common in other worlds. All supreme units are immune to banes, have high health and/or resistances, and high attack. These are the real threats, and each type will require unique tactics to defeat.
Portals
Portals are your main way in and out of other worlds. Each portal leads to its own unique world, so it can be a good idea to keep track of which portal leads to which world. Each portal will be guarded by an Earth Elemental on each side.

It's not usually a good idea to go through as soon as you find a portal. It's quite possible that if you don't properly prepare then everything you send through will be destroyed before it can get back out. Additionally, sending units into other worlds can cause monsters form thsoe realms to come back through into Ardania. This is because there is an Earth Elemental guarding the portal in the other world. This elemental will not move unles a Great Mage sends a unit in for him to attack. As long as he doesn't move then nothing will be able to use the portal from inside that world. On rare occasions computer players will send scouts into portals, and if they did you may not see anything come back out of the portal for a long time. It's a good idea to station a few ranged units outside portals that are in or near your territory so that you will be prepared when something does eventually come out.
Taking over the World
At first it won't be safe for you to send settlers in to make a new city. Before you can start creating cities outside of Ardania, you need to clear the world you are in of any monsters. Clearing the world is a process that will take considerable time and resources, but will ensure that any cities you found will never be attacked by dragons or other powerful creatures.

Scouting
The very first unit you should send into a realm is some form of scout unit. Send either a low cost high visibility unit, or a summoned unit like serpents or imps. Most of the time there will only be a few units each a couple spaces away from the portal, but on occasion realms will be filled with units. Your scout may appear 3 hexes away from the portal because that was the closest unoccupied space. It's important to know what exactly you'll be getting into. Once your scout is inside the other world, you may want to summon additional units like serpents to do a bit more exploring.

This is an example of when scouting is extremely important. Charging straight in with an army would end in disaster.

Take note of the terrain of the world, and open the worlds menu on the top right of your screen to see the name of the world. Each world will fall into a type or category, and certain types of worlds seem to be more dangerous than others. From my experience, it seems that Desert and Lush worlds are contain the least supreme enemies, and are therefore the easiest to clear. A full list of knwon worlds and their types can be found here[warlockmota.wikia.com].

The last thing to take note of while scouting is the specific types of enemies you see. From the enemies you see you can tell what types of monster lairs are near the portal, which can help you better prepare for initailly getting your army through. For example, if you see Fire or Earth Elementals that means an elemental portal is nearby, whereas seeing any type of wolves or werewolves would mean a hermit house was close. Watch out for supreme units. Most sit on top of unique lairs that take an extremely long time to spawn additional units.

Invading
The hardest part of taking over another world is getting your units safely through the portal. If there's just one or two units near the portal on the other side, you can send your whole army through and obliterate them, but as I mentioned above that's not always the case. If the area around the portal is overrun with units then you need to find a way to clear them out before you can send your entire army through safely. There are several ways to go about clearing the horde of enemies. You could play it safe and send ranged units with invisibility to kill all the enmies off, or you could charge in with durable tanks and support them with healing spells. The Fire and Vampiric weapon blessings are extremely helpful because they allow your units to not only heal themselves but do significantly more damage.

Once your army has made it through the portal, your next step is to pick a direction and start moving. Whenever you encounter enemies, try to attract them to your army and let them have the first attack. By letting the monsters advance on you, you allow them to move within range of your mages and archers so you can easily unleash a volley of attacks on them. Additionally, by letting the monsters attack you, you reduce the risk of unseen enemies beyond your sight range moving in at the same time. For this reason, its a good idea to lead your army with either expendable units or stronger melee units that can withstand the damage. Take your time and move slowly to avoid being overwhelmed by enemies.

It is extremely important that you loot every single monster lair. If even one lair is left in the world then the enemies that spawn from it will threaten the cities you found in the future. It is much easier to clear everything in one trip than to have to come back later to fight enemies again. Once all the enemies are dead and everything has been looted, enemies will no longer spawn in this world. The only exception is that events which spawn monster lairs in Ardania can also spawn those monsters in other worlds. You should leave one or two strong units behind in the world for when this eventually happens.
Additional Information
This section covers some short topics not mentioned in other sections of the guide.

Dremer Anchors
If you're playing Armageddon mode, Dremer anchors can and likely will spawn inside of other worlds. They will always spawn with a supreme unit on them such as a DIamond Elemental or Mad Peasants. Fortunately, the Dremer do not invade other worlds or affect the terrain there outside of occasionally spawning anchors.

Super Spells
There are 4 incredibly powerful spells in the game that cannot be researched. These spells can only be obtained by looting the lairs of supreme monsters in other worlds. The spells are still extremely rare, and you may need to clear multiple worlds to even get 1 of the spells. Casting any of these will require hundreds of mana, but will achieve incredible results.
  • Care of the Ancients-Heal 50 elemental magic. Affects target plus 2 rings of tiles around it. Probably the least useful super spell because of how expensive it is and how rarely you need such massive healing.
  • Mind of the Ancients-Casting speed +150%. High mana upkeep but stronger than Agile and Experienced Mind combined. In my opinion this is the best super spell.
  • Dragonfire Storm-80 Elemental damage. Affects the target and the tiles around it. Will create burned land(-20% food output) unless it makes raw magic land instead. Basically a much stronger firestorm and incredibly useful.
  • Pat of the Ancients-90 elemental damage. Affects target and 2 rings of tiles around it. Just like dragonfire, this will create burned land if it doesn't produce raw magic lands. This spell is incredibly powerful, but usually Dragonfire Storm is more than enough power.

Elder Witch
When looting supreme unit lairs, there is a chance to recruit the Elder Witch lord. As far as I know, this is the only Legendary hero that can be recruited this way. Despite not appearing to be all that great at level 1, she can unlock a variety of abilities, has high base damage, and has a range of 3 that makes her extremely powerful. Like all other lords, you cannot recruit her if you already have 4 lords recruited or waiting to be hired.

Get Your Own Supreme Unit
While steam user ( قهوة).*** already made a guide for this that you can see here, I felt his guide was unnecessarily long, so I will explain it here.

Most supreme units are wild monsters that you cannot normally acquire, however there is one way to obtain them. The Arethi Elves' Spirit of Death unit can be recruited in an Elvish city that has a temple to Krypta. The Spirit's ability Splinter of Death turns any unit killed by this ability into a summon you can control. If the summoned unit is killed before 3 turns pass and it dissapears, you can ressurect it as an undead unit using Elemental Resurrection and it will permentantly be yours. Using this strategy any unit in the game can become yours. You can even steal lords from other mages this way.

The best thing to do is use other units and spells to lower the supreme units health to nearly 0 and then have your Spirit of Death move in (best done with Meta-Teleportation) and hit them with the Splinter of Death ability. Now you need to find a way to kill it fast. Generally charging your supreme unit into other supreme units works well, but you may need to also damage your own unit using area spells like firestorm, thunderstorm, or dragonfire storm. Some units, like cave bears or diamond elementals, and nearly impossible to kill fast enough for this to work.

( قهوة).[ mentions in his/her guide that to kill the supreme unit you can teleport it near water and move it onto a transport ship so a sea monster can kill it. While this is technically the easiest way to kill your new unit, there are some problems with this. First, when you go to ressurect your supreme unit it will show up as a transport ship, not as a NIghtware Wolves or whatever it was. All your other units that died on transport ships will also show up so you'll have to guess which one it is, so you may need to cast your resurrection several times before getting the right unit. Second, any perks the unit acquired from leveling up will be gone when the unit is resurrected but it will retain it's level. This means you can end up with a unit thats exactly as strong as a level 1 unit, but needs 200 exp to level up. With all that said, this may be your only way of killing diamond elementals because of their outstanding resistances.

***The user's name is actually ( قهوة).[ but I had to cut off the bracket at the end for the links to work properly.

Computer Players
Computer controlled Great Mages will rarely if ever go into portals. Interestingly, it appears that all non-player controlled units will always go through a portal if they walk into it. If a computer player happens to send a unit into the portal, they will msot likely attempt to explore the realm and then leave. Computer players will not settle cities in other worlds, even if they are given the chance to do so.

A particularly annoying behaviour of computer players is their tendency to block portals. If they observe that you have cities in another realm, they may intentionally send a unit through a portal just so the unit can sit on top of thew portal and block it. This means any units you recruit in that other world will be trapped there unless you either declare war on the mage blocking you or have the Meta-Teleportation spell. This is especially annoying because other worlds typically have multiple holy grounds, so it is quite easy to recruit temple units there only to have them trapped. To avoid this, have you unit stand guard on the portal at all times. When you need to use the portal, move the unit off of it and then back onto the portal at the end of the turn so the computer has no chance to block you.

I have seen the computer block a portal using regular units and one time using a settler, so at this point I think this behaviour is possibly the result of computer player's not knowing how to handle portals and/or other worlds. Whatever the cause is, this seems to be a rare behaviour and will likely not be a problem to most players.
Conclusion
Other worlds are incredibly powerful resources, however they are very dangerous and in no way necessary to win the game. For this reason, many players completely ignore them like the computer players do. In the end, it is your decision whether or not you should go into portals to seek the resources they offer. The potential resources and spells can give you a massive advantage, but the time and effort needed to acquire them may be better spent elsewhere.

Thank you for reading this guide, and I hope you atleast learned something about other worlds in this game. If you have anything to add, please feel free to leave a comment below. Unless something important comes up or is mentioned in the comments, this guide probably won't be updated, especially since I am done with Warlock for the time being.

the only problem is that the other great mage are so much weaker then the other worlds its not even funny, so by the time you even stand a chance of clearing out the other worlds you are already more then capable of just stomping the other great mages

I like to defeat or at least agro and move the Earth elemental that is guarding a portal near an enemy cluster of cities. This will "uncork" the portal and all of the nasties can spill out into their base keeping them busy and resource poor while I'm off conquering the rest of Ardania's easier beasts, LOL. By the time I'm ready to push into their base, they are hammered or even trapped with many of the great mage's cities actually owned by the monsters now, and now I'm powered up as well as out side the portal, you can focus fire on one "boss" unit at a time without squeezing through the portal to be spread out to the nearest hex in other lands.

Computer players will most definitely build cities in other worlds. The problem for them is they are not good at clearing the other worlds of monsters. But if you do it for them, or if several computer players enter the same world at more-or-less the same time and begin to clear it, then computer settlers will follow.
