Location, Location, Location!
As a sniper it can be tempting to set up in bunkers, buildings and windows but you will find that these places are scouted out first. By minimizing enemies LOS angles, maximizing elevation and blending into your environment you'll achieve a high kill, and more importantly, high survival rate. Watch for mass enemy movement and flank from their side using less than traditional, color appropriate cover.
Getting into cover.
Use left control to get into cover and left alt to prone. The WASD keys should ALWAYS be used to peek out from cover as opposed the mouse button which brings you farther out of cover with your weapon drawn. This should only be done when you 100% have the shot. Once your position has been compromised, flank to the side and drive prone behind cover using sprint and left alt until you can assess your situation.
Spotting the enemy.
In Rising Storm it is very important to bind your spot enemy command to something easy such as a mouse thumb button, this way as a sniper from optimal positioning you can tag targets for your squad and teammates to easily spot and take out. Team points are awarded for this and the mechanic should be familiar to battlefield players.
Taking the Shot
Like battlefield, Rising Storm features bullet balistics so snipers mist take into account the distance and the movement speed of the target. Try to keep your shots to a couple hundred meters in distance. Still targets at closer distences do not require a crosshair placement above their heads but for moving targets at a distence you want to lead slightly up and in front of them according to speed and distance. The best times to shoot are when enemies are fatigues from sprinting or firing at teamates with their weapons raised. A small bit of practice will get you acclimated rather quickly.

one thing's for sure : the arisaka's got a better zoom than the springfield (although the scope is less comfortable in my opinion.. rim is bigger and the view distortion on the edge is quite large) the 0 point (up to about 100 metres ) is the second tick, mark, from the top.

If you have over 100 ping I noticed that the bullet takes time to spawn in the world, so the higher your ping the longer it takes for a bullet to hit the ground. Quite annoying when I play on 130 ping servers because you have to aim very far in front of your taarget, and hope the target runs INTO the bullet.

It seems the top most horizontal line on the scope is the 100m mark, at leat from my experience.
