See the changes in the change notes button.

One thing (among many) that annoyed me a lot in Civilization 6 is how mountain chains can be a pain in the ass for your city developement. I saw someone created some time ago a mod called "Mountain sucks less" which is a really good to go for a fix, especially without touching the precious fact that mountain can't be crossed (saw that other mod, didn't like it at all). But that was not enough to me ... well something else was missing : The foooood !

Have you ever seen Alpine cities ? I lived part of my childhood in french Alpes mountain chain, and trust me, this is not a downside for food production. In fact, food is even a so called art for most of the people living there and im sure it's the same abroad. Have you seen the crops on flank ? the cow herds & sheep herds ? cheese craftsmen ? smoked meat craftsmen ? I was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awaken by cow's bell, bread & cheese smell every morning. Mountain is a wonderful place to make stuff from animals and im on the job to fix that.

Also ... the deers. Yes not (so) related with my frist point, i know ! But let's set this other problem straight : You are cold, hungry, wandering in tundra tiles, no food since you passed that crazy ice & snow block ... then you just find some deers !!! OMG YES ! but no !!! civilization 6 tells you deers are not made with meat ... you can use theirs skin and horns to craft yes ... but eat it ? c'mon, there are plastic made bro ! <sarcasm off> As this is urgent, Im tweaking that aswell.

Let's see what this mod do in detail :

---- Mountains changes ----

Mountains will provide +1 food adjacency bonus to pastures (this adjacency setup happens more frequently than you think). Because mountains boost pastures, just like in the reality ! Don't forget the bonus stacks up with the number of adjacent mountain, for exemple a pasture circled with 3 mountains (it's rare i have to say) will be granted a total of 3 food bonus. Bonus are integrated with pasture creation (you will see the amount is not vanilla !)

If you want +1 production adjacency bonus to quarries, mines and lumber mills and even more cool little stuff, i suggest you to subscribe to "mountain suck less" mod. This mod work as a complement for it.

---- Deer ressource changes ----

Deer ressources will be granted a +1 raw bonus food for realism. Now your poor cities on tundra/snow will finally be able to eat deer meat if they find some !!! (if you find a hill + grassland + forest + deer = that one is really nice so ... champagne !!!).

---- Boosted version of this mod ----

I assure you the 2 previous changes are very balanced and won't make your game easier, it will help you and the AI's aswell ... the game will be just a way more realistic. But ! i did let lines to allow the same mountain food or production bonus adjacency applied for Farms in addition of Pastures. I warn you this is a bit OP like that imo because AI doesn't spam farms without ressources around mountain and this advantage can affect your pleasure issued from game difficulty.

So the mod is initially not set with that feature, but if you want to try it's pretty simple :

- Go to my mod file, and open RadiantMountainsAndDeers.sql (Notepad ++ is the best to open that)
- Remove the 2 lines with /* and */ (gave you a hint inside the file). Be careful, don't remove anything else.
- Save file in sql format.
- Start another game and enjoy (i think can't affect saved games).

This mod only work when a whole new game is created while activated and can't work on already existing saves. Sorry it couldn't be avoidable.

This mod is meant to be compatible with most of the existing mods (has been tested with 150+ of my mods). Though if you have a problem, you can notice me if you need help to fix it manually.

This mod is ofc compatible with "mountain suck less" and so you can be able to stack up all the bonus's. This is even advised to subscribe both of them.

You can find all my mods by searching "Radiant" in steam workshop, nexus, or civfanatics, which is a recurrent word in all my mod's tittles.

Even if they represent hundreds of working hours, I'm sharing my mods for free like most of mod creators. But deep down I'm really hoping you to do that little extra thing that would help me a lot : joining any of my pages (patreon, facebook, instagram). Just that really! Don't feel obliged to give something, with Patreon there is indeed a free option that grants you basic news/content and it will only take few seconds of your time. That being said I'm an artist irl and I sometimes struggle to put my personal projects on the saddle. By giving a little something or joining my ranks you can trigger a course of actions/reactions that might end up gathering more people around, thus helping me building the motivation and means to create more stuff to appreciate.

Hey, since you seem quite good at script editing, can you explain to me how i would on my own, make a forest adjacent bonus, where if a forest (woods) is next to another one, they both get +1food, and so on, so big woods would become more adventageous (yeah i play without lumber mills)

@Kimu - Disregard the last comment. I've just gone back into the game to check on a new mod and this mod is now listed as enabled. Anyone else reading this, then "Yay! Great news" for all the base game players :)

@Kimu - Really hope you're in a better place now and are continuing with your great mods.
I have two question. I only have the base game with updates, including Sept 2019 and since then your mod is listed as non compatible, even for the base game.
Is it, or is this mod still payable in the base game, and if so how do I re-enable it as it seems to have been disabled automatically?

@Levalinou Thanks bro, It doesn't surprise me tbh, this mod should be conflicting with the whole big chapter they added on mountains with expansion you know (Unique constraint is 2 same variables existing at the same time which should not be). I don't even know if i can make it work again, make be jump on another idea i will see. But first im working on making my promotion mod work again : )

oh no I hope you're doing ok Kimu! I seriously love the heck out of your mods. they make the game so much fresher and obviously took a ton of time to write. and they never seem to give me compatibility issues tho I haven't tested them much since GS. even if I have to turn off GS to play them again I'll do!

Came to check compatibility with GS, but just want to say: Get well soon Kimu! All the best!
