Description
Various Video Game Weapons.
Last updated for Besiege 0.85

Currently just including:
- Poultryizer
- Portal Device
- Gravity Gun

Poultryizer
From the Warcraft franchise, seen in World of Warcraft and Hearthstone.
A gun that turns AI into chickens.

Just aim the gun at a knight, peasant or sheep and turn them into passive chickens.

Gravity Gun
From the Half Life franchise, seen in Half Life 2.
Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator (Dark Energy Field Manipulator).

Just aim the gun at any movable object and pick it up and shoot it away. When both keys are bound to the same key it switches between the two.

Portal Device
From the Portal franchise, wherein it is made by Aperture Science.
"[A] gun that makes holes. Not bullet holes, but-- well, you'll figure it out."

Just aim it at a fairly large even level surface and make your own portals. There is a hard limit of 2 portal no matter if you're a single player or more.
Check out example machine and level.


Portal Settings:
These settings are primarily there to help with very specific cases and people with really bad performance.
<Single key="portal-resolution">1</Single>
1 is full, 0.5 would be half, 0.25 would be a quarter.

<Integer key="portal-max-nesting">3</Integer>
Number of portals you can see inside portals. 3 is max, 1 is minimum.

<Boolean key="allow-camera-teleport">False</Boolean>
Allow when moving the regular camera to teleport the camera on its own. Only useful when not following a machine.

<Boolean key="accurate-fog">True</Boolean>
Make each nested portal control its own fog, can be turned off to have less fog objects in total

<Boolean key="display-mirrored-meshes">True</Boolean>
Being able to see the Machine halfway through the portal, should only be turned off in the most dire performance situations

<Boolean key="use-mirrored-bodies">False</Boolean>
Enabling this will give you far more accurate physics upon going through a portal if things are near it, but it will come at the cost of performance

<Single key="portaling-registrator-size">5</Single>
Allows you to set the size of area that figures out if things are going into portals. Usually you don't wanna touch this, but you can set it to higher values to account for machine going really fast potentially.

Portal FAQ:
Q: Mod doesn't seem to work right
A: That's not really a question, but before doing anything else follow these steps, and check if the problem is resolved every 1 or 2 steps: Make sure you're in the most recent official Besiege release -> Restart Steam -> Unsubscribe from all other mods -> Unsubscribe from this mod -> Restart Steam -> Subscribe to mod -> Verify Besiege game cache -> Restart Steam -> Update Drivers -> Reinstall Besiege.

Q: Will there be bugs?
A: Probably, and likely loads. This was a hard, hard, mod to get to work, expect bugs, maybe even crashes. I will attempt to fix crashes if people find those consistently, but I will likely ignore various bugs, because portals and physics are just a ridiculous idea in the first place.

Q: What surfaces can I place portals on?
A: Any level object and part of the environment with a big and smooth enough surface. If the surface moves either due to physics or logic the portal gets destroyed.

Q: How do I make a surface portals can't be placed on?
A: When making a level where you want surfaces that can't get portals there are several ways: 1. make the surface not big enough for the portal 2. use geometry or triggers to make the surface uneven.

Q: How many different portals can I make?
A: 2. I might consider making 2 more for co-op, but it will come with its share of problems. It's sadly not just like making more of them.

Q: What happens if I use more than 1 Portal Device?
A: You'll just have more than a single source firing portals, it won't increase the number of portals you make, and if you shoot two at the same time the second will cancel the first shot much like when firing one Portal Device quickly after it has fired.

Q: Can I teleport level objects?
A: Not currently.

Q: I get low fps from this mod what do I do?
A: Well other than just avoiding this mod you can try and go to Mods/Config/VidyaWeapons_... and reduce portal-resolution to 0.5 or 0.25.
You can change the max-nesting to lower than 3, so you see less portals looking through the portals. 1 is the minimum.


Q: How does this work with Camera blocks?
A: Not particularly well currently, much like if you were inside objects normally things would mask your camera. I suggest you use the regular camera at the start when dealing with portals.

Known Bugs:
- In the sandbox all yak skulls explode on sim start.

i had this bug so i figured i'd mention it here for anyone else who gets it, if you have a giant white box around the start point in level editor, it's this mod that causes it, it's very out of date at this point (sad, since the portal gun is cool)

Okay, I am able to shoot portals and I can see the vehicle through them, but I can't seem to drive through them. I just hit the wall.

for some reason when ever i put a portal gun on a vehicle with moving parts like suspension, piston, joint blocks, or steering parts the vehicle just fucks off into the void on start and it never works. it dosent do it for anything else in the game but the portal gun
