Working turrets (intelligentia mod)
By The Milkman
This guide outlines how to create a working turret from the intelligentia mod. to create the actuall mechanism that allows the turret to move then watch the video in the link to the mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1413205977

Creating the turret
to create a turret watch this video
turret types:
There are three main types of turret that I can teach you how to create. These are:
- Long range artillery
- Short range, fast firing machine-gun
- Mid-range, mid-accuracy gun
They all require a slightly different mechanism but the principles are all the same.
Long range turret
Long Range artilery:
what you want to do first after you have created your turret is to start again. i know this might be a pain but it is neccassary for accuracy purposes.

recreate your turret using the slow, advanced AI.

After finishing your turret, remove the switch and and add a 1000 block range proximity detector. connect the AI to this and then your turret will automatically activate when a player/imitator is in range.

After that you need to create an extra electric engine. then create a logic gate that powers it. create a switch and connect it to the logic gate. now attach the proximity trigger to the logic Gate (ensure that it remains on the [AND] setting. you now have everything ready for the firing mechanism.
if building this on a vehicle then find a 3x3x3 space, if not then create a 3x3x3 space. in the center block on the floor, place a bearing.

place a small pipe on the bearing so it faces straight up. place a small pipe corner on this and then place another so that it creates a curve that faces straight down.

it does not matter in which direction you do this. after creating the pipe mechanism, you need to add sensors to each side. remember not to place them in the corners of your 3x3 space. because this is a long range turret, only one sensor is needed. place it adjacent to the bearing/pipe on the floor.

IMPORTANT: it is very important that the sensor faces up.
Set the sensor to have a one block range and then attach it to your spud gun/turret gun
once all this is done then connect the engine (the one with the logic gate attached to it) to the bearing. DONE your turret is now complete. to alter the fire rate just increase/decrease the engine power.
Machine gun
To create the machine gun, follow the same instructions as the artillery gun but do the following:
- replace the 1000 block proximity detector with a 100 block proximity detector.
- replace the Slow AI with fast AI of your choice
- place 3 extra sensors adjacent to the bearing so they cover the floor [excluding the corners] and disconnect the spud gun

- place a logic gate and set it to [OR], then connect all the sensors to it. then connect the logic gate to the spud gun.
Mid range turret
To create the mid range turret, follow the guide for the artillery but do the following:
- replace the 1000 block proximity detector with a 250 block proximity detector
- add an extra sensor opposite to the existing one so there is a sensor on both sides of the bearing/pipe. disconnect the spud gun from the sensors

- place a logic gate and set it to [OR]. then connect both sensors to it and connect it to the spud gun.

@The Wither Lord
AI? if not so it cannot really count because search "turret" on the workshop and there are a least a hundred submissions

you read the instructions
the pictures are just for reference so you know what it is meant to look like at that stage in the construction
