The Flashback

Here you will understand how to use a flashback[/h1]

The flashback is a tool which we can use in a race to rewind time to a given moment to aviod a certain incident. For all those users not wanting to use this it can be disabled in the race setups.

When?

For example tyre punctures, collisions, miscalculating corners or getting more speed around corners (going off the racing line)

How?

Press instant replay , rewind time and then...

Press X on the xbox controller

Flashback tool : Forward/Backward

Like a video we can fast forward or rewind the game to a certain moment

Why?

It allows improvements to be made, it makes us learn from mistakes and helps us understand better

Earning Your Stripes (Achievements)

Chevrons

Here you will understand how to collect chevrons in testing

What are chevrons?

Chevrons are collectable items that allow players to collect them an review their driving style depending on the race line.

How to collect?

Drive over them and they will stack at the top right

What does this do?

It allows you to review your driving, if you get many your driving line of the track is good and if not you may need more improvement it also allows you to enter the career facilities in F1 2012.

Arch-Rival (Achievement)

Arch-Rival

You must beat your rival in Season challenge. To do this you must first compete in a season challenge by setting the difficulty and your car and then you will be given the interface for the season. Before setting out to race you will be asked to assign a rival. The rival must be at an achievable aim if you wish to beat him so your choice must be correct as this choice is final. For this achievement you require to beat this rival and if not the season challenge will needed to be started again.

Here we select a rival as represented by the blue R and then he is your rival for the next 4 races. As you can also see he has his nationality, team, position, points, opinion and race victories listed to show how you will compete against him.

Green and Red

A loss results in him gaining a green spot and you gaining a red spot. Put simply the one with more green spots than the other beats their rival.

FORMULA ONE is Back!

Very simple compete in the first grand prix of the season in Australi.This will put a start to your Formula 1 career to become a champion.

The Pressure and One Shot Hero (Achievements)

What is One shot qualifying and why ?

it is a setting that can be given throughout all game modes so that qualifying is much quicker and harder to get pole position. Whereas qualifying in general takes 15 minutes this session takes only 3 minutes maximum to make sure you get the qualifying lap perfect from start to finish. As said in the achievement this is a "one shot" and you will only get one chance in this to gain pole position.

The Pressure

The pressure is an achievement that requires you to get a qualifying run on a certain track but with only 1 chance of getting pole position. This achievement is very simple as all it wants you to do is set a lap time.

One shot hero

One shot hero simply wants you to get pole in the one shot qualifying setting. Being quick will let you get both these achievements.

FORMULA ONE Pro (Acheivement)

Assists in Gaming

We all know of assists in games, such as braking assitence, automatic gears and traction control for stability however to get this acheivement you must not use these assists.

Why should we?

Althought daunting at first look this achievement is best earned by surviving on a 3 lap run of a circuit. This is only advice if you want to acheive this achievement as people are allowed to choose however they want to drive in this game.

Issues with lack of assists and how to resolve :

Spinning - Spinning your tyres maybe a big issue however going steady and remaining in high gears can resolve this issue also.

Difficulty - The AI may possibly faster than you however using easy AI can acheive this acheivement even quicker

Conclude

So assists are helpful if you choose them or not is another matter but the main point is if you want this acheivement be patient and go steady and learn without these assists.[/u]

Graduation Day,Just a Tester and Future Champion (Achievements)

Testing

First of all if your new to the driver testing welcome. You will be featured in testing the new Red Bull Formula 1 car for the 2012 season. It involves praticing in Abu Dhabi which involves long straights and hairpins. With shicanes and precision required this track gives the test driver a challenge and it possibly is the best track to test at.

Graduation Day

As you may know of univesities and graduation days this is very much similar. So back to F1 2012 In that aspect you pass your training to show you have graduated for this. You must pass all previous training tests and show you have completed them at a good level. This is very simple as its a game, if you fail many times this will not alter your final outcome.

Just a Tester

Just a tester requires you to complete the graduation day but at a level where you have done your best and performed at the maximum level. In such case there is bronze , silver and gold medals awarded for each training test. Put simply the just a tester achievement is achieved by getting gold on a test so this requires you to be fast and precise on the collection of chevrons or performing fast lap sectors. In addition the future champion acheivement requires you to get a gold in each test.

Consturctors and Drivers championship

Winning the consturctors and drivers championship is similar but very much different in the way these are won.

Lets first take a look at the constructors championship

The constructors championship is a championship for the team, it allows them to show the teams competitive skill and how many points they can claim over the year. This requires two drivers and these are normally given a position in the team. Number one driver is the driver that is more essential to the team maybe he is more experienced or has wins behind his name. The Number two driver is possibly a driver that is new to the team and still is learning in that environment. Together these two will need to be consistent and fast to gain the top points to give them a better chance of moving up the leaderboards.

Lets second take a look at the drivers championship

Similar to the constructors championship but is solely dependent on one driver. His aim is to beat everyone in the field and get the drivers championship. His consistency and skill will help win this title.

The Racing Line (Information)

The Racing Line

The racing line is the quickest route through the race track. It involves going close to curbs to get the best lines into corners or straights , it is often aided by knowledge of the track but for those new users you may require the help of the racing line.

Understanding results (Information)

Why?

Although it is very clear we need to observe very breify the results of a race to understand which things appear or dont appear.

Structure

The order from 1st to 16th in a full session will be shown identifying penalties, gap, racer, country, team and grid position

Headings

Team - Which team you race for
Grid - The place you was randomised to or was awarded from qualifying
Gap - The distence between you and the 1st car
Penalties - Excludes drive through penalties and includes collisions added onto the end of the race
Country - Which country you race for
Driver/Racer - Its you

Research and Development (Information and Achievement)

What is Research and Development (R and D)

It is the upgrading of a formula 1 process that allows new parts of the car to be tested and evaluated to see if they work or not.

Why Research and Develop?

To increase the car performance

How?

You will get offers aslong as you are the number 1 driver for the team and you have competed in a few R and D tests these can be performed at certain tracks and after completing the R and D at these tracks you will get emails followed to tell you if you want to alter the path of the R and D.

Cancelling

Cancelling R and D occurs when you have underperformed at a R and D test. The email will be given if you want to forget this years Research and Development path and continue onto next years car.

Tyres and Conditions (Information)

Welcome to tyres

Tyres play a important role in Formula 1. The Pirelli tyres for this season are Prime, Option, intermediates (Inters) and Wets. Lets go indepth with each tyre to know where and how to use these tyres.

Rule : The option and prime must be used throughout the race (this can be in whatever order the driver wants to use)

HInt : Qualifying 10th or back gives the driver a choice of what tyre to fit onto their car before the race begins. This depends on the driver if they want a fast or durable path.

Option tyres for most races :

Tips :

Only used in dry and light showers.

Represented by a yellow side (soft tyre) or red side (super soft) good for viewing other players choice of tyres.

The quicker tyre of the collection however its life is smaller than the prime.

Usually comes in either super soft or soft depending on the track.

Mainly considered for qualifying in the top 10 however others may choose otherwise.

Option tyres for Malyasia and others :

Tips :

Only used in dry and light showers

Represented by a white side (medium tyre)

The medium paced tyre is not as quick as the soft but not as slow as the hard compound (as explained later) however it is more durable than the soft and less durable than the hard. This tyre gives an balanced feel on speed and durability.

Usally comes in Medium depending on the track.

Mainly considered for qualifying in the top 10.

Prime tyre for most races :

Tips :

Can be refered to as the hard tyre.

Often refered to as the prime tyre.

Good durability but poor grip and speed.

Used mainly on high tyre wear tracks.

Intermediate tyre and wet tyre :

Unlike the option and prime this tyre does not follow the rules of the FIA. If there is rain on the track then neither option or prime need to be used. Instead the driver may use intermediate or wet depending on their view of the conditions.

Tips :

Used in wet conditions.

Inters used for damp conditions

Wets used for severe conditions

Inters the quicker of the compound when used in damp conditions

Wets considered if lack of grip is provided on the track.

Inters and Wets will damage out on a dry track

Dry

Light Rain

Will affect your braking distances a bit.

Heavy Rain

Grass

Little impact just affects tyres.

Sand

Will affect your speed and your exit into a corner or straight.

Achieving Objectives (Information)

Objectives

In Singleplayer or Multiplayer the team you chose to race for will be assigning you objectives.

Game modes?

Achieving objectives gives XP in both game modes.

Why?

This can be used as a stat to provide you with how well you have done over your F1 career on F1 2012 and to level you up.

Leveling up

Leveling up contains of 50 levels on multiplayer.

Losing XP

Unsporting behaviour resulting in black and white flags will cause a drop in your XP try to avoid this if you are wanting to reach the high ranks.

Winning XP

Achieving what the team wants you to do will cause you to win XP.
