Description
This mod teases out the code from Nider001's "Vanilla Balance Overhaul" mod, giving us just its awesome, non-turn ending HunkerDown ability. It can be used without cover, stops fire burning, conveys +30 to defense, and +50 to dodge.

WHY MAKE IT?
Another must-have mod for me, because once I had played Nider001's mod with its non-turn ending HunkerDown, I could never go back! Vanilla WOTC's HunkerDown is boring and I hardly ever used it, choosing to Overwatch or run to full cover instead. This mod makes hunkering down a much more viable option. It also frees you to choose other mods, like DerBK's "A Better ADVENT" mod!

COMPATIBIILITY
Should be fine unless another mod changes the HunkerDown ability. Works with ABA snd TLP!

Prince_of_arfon LWOTC hunker down doesn't put out fires in the first place, they removed that feature unfortunately.

I'm using it with LWOTC, and Quick Hunker isn't stopping on-fire soldiers from burning. The Mod Launcher doesn't show any conflicts between Quick Hunker and any of my other mods, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Any ideas?

What can be done is that you can make Deep Cover as an exception because this ability requires you to do nothing for a soldier. Allowing movement for custom classes that require movement during enemy's turn

I also have Deep Cover ability(auto Hunk Down if doing nothing) for that Stormrider. Using Stormrider's Overwatch and nothing else will trigger Deep Cover. With Quick Hunker's setting mobility to 0, Intercept will conflict it

Hey, so I used a custom class called Stormrider.
And that class has an ability called Intercept, an Overwatch skill using melee attack by running towards the enemy and back to starting position.

This conflicts your Quick Hunker that change the description that it limits movement.

Is there a config file that I can change to unrestrict movement on hunker down?

Yep. You gotta hunker before you shoot or overwatch though.

So, in vanilla, you can't shoot and then hunker down, but you can single move and hunker near cover. This allows double move and hunker even without cover. But can you move, fire a weapon normally and still hunker?

It doesn't give QuickHunker to tthe aliens, but yes it is! Your squad gets the QuickHunker, while the aliens get the normal Hunker.

Animation bug appears when used in conjunction with Kregano's Suppression Weapons. Using Quick Hunker and then suppression seems to cause it.

Not really a problem considering the two really shouldn't be used together for balancing reasons, so I try to avoid using it in conjunction anyway. Just a heads up!
