Preface
RSN is probably the most interesting route for walking around that we've seen so far. And that's down to a lot of the side industries and such that have been modeled that we have not had a chance to drive on, and LOTS and LOTS of little secret bits near Plettenberg-why not explore for yourself?

Some extra effort was clearly put in[live.dovetailgames.com] to make RSN interesting to walk around, as no other route has these secret bits!

BUT the collectables are particularly buggy. Multiple collectables are actually totally inaccessable, some are hidden behind walls, there are more collectables than they should be, you even don't need to find 75 collectables for the achievement...its a real mess. However, at least the achievement is possible.

Here from XBOX or PS4? As I have been told, collectables are exactly the same on PC or console, feel free to share this guide to anyone on consoles!
Tips
This guide starts in the North at Hagen, and the order of collectables presented will follow the line South toward Finnentrop. Follow the order of collectables you see here and you'll be able to get them all without needing to retrace your steps or anything.

There are collectables all over the route, not just at stations, so it may be best to just walk the distance instead of driving a train, stopping every few hundred meters for a no trespassing sign.
The Collectables
The theme of collectables this time around really focuses a lot on the fact that this line is old, and a lot of work is going on to refresh and refurbish what's already been built. Collectables focus on looking old and worn out, and its your job to clean it up. (Hence, Refurbishment Crew) We have a mix of some typical collectables, but also some new things to find and repair.

Once again, there are 4 types of collectables. This route's also at a good medium length, so it claims we have 75 total to find. In reality, there are some extra collectables, some broken ones, and other bugs, so we will actually find 76 in this guide.

Route Maps

A staple of the collectable series, route maps are back once again. As usual the map includes only the featured route. And despite the route being North-South, the map is still horizontal, making it look like an East-West route. Odd.

An uncollected map is a blank poster with "Ruhr Sieg Nord" written in the header. Collecting it will place a map on the poster.
Uncollected
Collected
There are 10 maps in total (for once, the game and the actual number of collectables agree), which are placed exclusively at stations.

Broken Lights

An interesting new collectable, and it fits the refurbishment theme well. These collectables are fluorescent lights that have been damaged and, if its night time, will flicker on and off. It's worthwhile repair work!

An uncollected light will have cracked glass and may flicker at night. Collecting the light will repair it, removing the cracks, and removing the flickering when its night. (NOTE: To collect the light, walk underneath it. Most will be above your head, but you don't need to touch the light itself.)
Uncollected
Collected
The game claims there are 10 broken lights in total, but we will only be able to get 8 broken lights. All the lights are located on some wall of a trackside structure.

Hammers

Another new collectable, the hammer, referred to in the files as a spike maul, is a typical example of the kind of hammer that would be used to drive railroad spikes into ties, and would be important for repair work.

An uncollected hammer will just be laying on the ground. Collecting it will make it vanish.
Uncollected
Collected
The game claims there are 15 hammers in total, but this guide will cover how to find 16 hammers, which are usually located on the ground close to sidings. These are probably hardest to find due to their low profile.

No Trespassing Signs

Another classic of collectables, no trespassing signs have returned, this time in the circular German style that looks like a man holding out his hand as if to say "stop!"

An uncollected no trespassing sign is a blank white circle placed on a metal stick. Collecting it will place the no trespassing graphic on the sign.
Uncollected
Collected
The game claims there are 40 no trespassing signs in total, but there are apparently multiple extra signs, so this guide will cover 42 no trespassing signs. These are the most of any collectable on the route, and they can be found just about everywhere.
#1 Hagen
We begin at Hagen Hbf, the north end of the route, where we will move through Hagen Yard onto the mainline. As the single biggest location on the route, there is plenty to collect here.

We have 10 collectables to find around Hagen, 2 route maps, 2 broken lights, 2 hammers, and 4 no trespassing signs.

#2 Boele
Getting out of Hagen, Boele is literally just around the corner. And as a medium sized yard, we have another set of collectables to grab.

Around here there are 5 collectables. 1 broken light, 1 hammer, and 3 no trespassing signs.

#3 Herbeck Cement Works
The Cement Works are an interesting location. It's a significant industry that we can't use at all right now due to the lack of any diesel locomotive, and the lack of any rolling stock for cement. Maybe someday we'll have a suitable switcher and train cars for industries like this.

The collectables around here are basically just mainline collectables, so there are only 3 remotely close to here. 1 hammer and 2 no trespassing signs.

#4 Hohenlimburg
We've already got a bunch of collectables, yet only now do we encounter the next station; Hohenlimburg.

Considering the station and the Oege Steel Works, we have a lot to find in this area. 7 collectables total, 1 route map, 2 hammers, and 4 no trespassing signs.

There is also a broken light in this area, however, it is incorrectly placed and cannot be collected. It is not required for the achievement.
#5 Letmathe
Latmathe is not a far jaunt from Hohenlimburg, and there are just a few more collectables to find around there.

We have 6 more collectables. 1 route map, 1 broken light, 1 hammer, and 3 no trespassing signs.

#6 Mainline via Altena
After Plettenberg, there's quite a ways to go until the next big stop, and Altena is the only thing in between, so its basically just a whole bunch of mainline.

Along this strech, we have 8 collectables. 1 route map, 2 hammers, and 6 no trespassing signs.

There is a no trespassing sign on one of the tunnels in this area that is visible, but cannot be collected as it is behind an invisible wall. It is not required for the achievement.
#7 Elverlingsen Power Station
The power station is another big deal industry that would be really cool to use, but that we currently lack both the train cars and locomotive for. But that doesn't mean it lacks attention to detail!

In this general area, there are 5 collectables. 1 broken light, 2 hammers, and 2 no trespassing signs.

#8 Werdohl
And the next big stop is Werdohl. Lots to find here, so lets get at it.

There are 11 collectables in the Werdohl area. That's 2 route maps, 1 broken light, 1 hammer, and 7 no trespassing signs.

#9 Plettenberg
Plettenberg may actually be the most interesting place on the route to walk around. Its chocked full of all these little 'holes in the wall' that you can walk through to access cute little secret areas, showing off the real dedication to scenery this route has. (I guess the scenery people had extra time and chose the south end to spice up)
Plus, you have the Recylcing Center and Brockhaus Stahl industries here; extra facilities mean extra collectables!

As such, there is a lot to collect in and around Plettenberg, a whole 12 of em. 2 route maps, 1 broken light, 2 hammers, and 7 no trespassing signs.

#10 Finnentrop
Finnentrop may be the second biggest station, and even have a sizeable yard for the ThyssenKrupp Steel company, but it's actually quite small on the collectables. Most of these here are from the mainline.

We have just 8 collectables in this area. 1 route map, 1 broken light, 2 hammers, 4 no trespassing signs.

Conclusion
What a confusing situation! We can still find 75 collectables. There are two that are totally broken, and two extra ones (but there are probably even more extra ones, from what I hear). At least it cancels out! While I would not say the RSN collectables are the most interesting, RSN has a bunch of other exploration opportunities. Look for open gates on the side of the track and you might find something interesting!

Oh yeah, if an update comes soon, I bet ya these collectables will be a topic of fixin'. I will keep an eye out and update the guide to respect any fixes that may be created.

The light at Hohenlimburg that the guide says is incorrectly placed, is actually reachable. You just need to climb up on a wooden pallet by the door to get to it. Screenshots [forums.dovetailgames.com]

Route maps: 10/10
Broken lights: 8/10
Hammer: 16/15
Trespassing: 41/40

You are right. This is, by far, the longest route that I did walking that does not feel like eternity. Very unlike Sand patch grade. For you, I give an award.

Impossible to collect the forbidden passage at km 32 in the direction Platenberg-Hagen at the exit of the tunnel indicated hidden in the wall but nothing is unlocked (in TSW2) I am at 40/41 signs

Well, with the help of your guide, and stopping a freight service every couple of KM I managed to get 16 hammers and 43 signs. Plus sitting in the second man seat at Finnentrop took me nicely out of bounds when the train left at the end of the service!! Pity about the lights though.. :-) The ability to go wandering around is a really nice touch...

Due to the Autumn update, the one no trespassing sign near Altena that was impossible to reach has been moved to a decent place. It has been added to the guide, so now you can find 42 no trespassing signs using the guide.
