Horton-in-Ribblesdale Station

Description
It is my pleasure to finally be able to introduce the lovely station of Horton-in-Ribblesdale to the Transport Fever community!

Overview
Horton-in-Ribblesdale is a small station on the Settle-Carlisle line in North Yorkshire, UK. Designed by John Holloway Sanders and built in 1876 under the original name "Horton" by the Midland Railway, the line was later absorbed by the London Midland and Scottish Railway and renamed "Horton-in-Ribblesdale".
Despite winning "Best Kept Station" 17 years in a row in the 1950s and 60s, passenger service on the line ceased in 1970 and the line faced the threat of closing completely.
Thankfully, a protest group was formed by local and national rail enthusiasts that campaigned to preserve the line and in 1989, the UK government announced they would keep the line open.
Since then, the line has been renovated and now sees many special and chartered trains due to rising numbers in tourists and general ridership.

This depiction aims to recreate the station as realistically as possible, while keeping Transport Fever station parameter requirements in mind.
Therefore, while the buildings, lamps and signs very closely resemble the original, the actual platform design has been slightly modified - under artistic license.

Station Features
Aside from the usual features, such as amount of platforms, length of station, second street connection, etc., a few special features have been included.
These are:

- Personalize your station building by choosing which house or waiting room is displayed
- Through tracks are available and can add up to 12 additional tracks to the station
- Both streets, on either side, are available in cobblestone and asphalt versions, separately
- In addition, an intersection can be added to the center of the street
- All streets can be upgraded with tram tracks
- A draggable fence using the station fence is available from the street menu
- All objects used are also available as normal assets in the asset menu

Common API
Horton-in-Ribblesdale is ready for your specific track types! Simply make sure you have the Common API mod also installed and activated, along with any narrow gauge or other track mods you would like to use. As soon as this is the case, the station upgrade menu will automatically accomodate those choices. Please note, that the barrow crossing does not adjust to varying track widths - this is not a bug.

Custom Station Signs
For easy access and editing, all station signs (passenger station and asset Version), use the same separate texture that has not been compressed with DDS.
YD_HIR_TEXD.tga can be opened and edited with any graphics program that can read *.tga files and can be personalized either only in text, or completely in design.
WARNING: Don't forget to back up the original texture file, so you can easily restore the original signs if necessary!

Known issue: Texture doesn't revert back to original despite restarting the game!
Solution: Delete your texture cache here: Steam\userdata\username\446800\local

Acknowledgements
Many thanks to the incredibly supportive team at transportfever.net and especially to Yoshi, who, with Tom's stationbuilder script, was able to code and implement the station!

As I am no longer active in the modding community, I have currently have no plans. With a lot of luck, perhaps someone might convert it.

have you got any plans to release this for transport fever 2?

Cool thanks for that tip :)

Hi Sqweloookle, I'm sorry to hear about the crashes - I'm aware the current solution for the connecting roads isn't the best. Unfortunately I wasn't the one who did the coding for the roads, so I can't really help you, other than to say that in hindsight, I wouldn't have my modding partner make them that way again.
One tip/hint I can give: always try bulldozing connecting streets before upgrading - this is the most common cause for crashes (although after the last update I no longer experienced any).

Oh also I tried an road upgrade to tram and it crashed the game.

Could there be a version with just roads on the ends where the passengers walk?

No offence is intended by this, just ascertaining if it is a personal choice or is the station not capable of having medium to large roads?

Hi everybody and sorry for taking so long to respond.
Your most requested feature, longer platforms, has been implemented - up to 320m are now possible. However, due to the way the platforms are shaped, you can actually fit trains up to about ~330-340m.
Unfortunately, updates regarding the type of street or the connections are not planned - sorry.

Hope you enjoy it anway and happy holidays!

@Tactical Combat Peanut: the game upgrading fences to streets is due to the fence being classified as a street - the only way to make it draggable. Sorry about that, but it's hardcoded that the AI can upgrade streets at will, so no one will be able to fix that.
