Getting To Grips

Mô tả
This is the first level I've built in DISTANCE, and represents an attempt to learn the ins and outs of the editor and DISTANCE's systems. It shouldn't be especially challenging, although it does get harder as the track progresses. Explorers will find shortcuts that skip challenges and significantly reduce their sprint time.

Updated : 24th August 2019; adjusted medal times to be fairer for new players. Cosmetic updates (no routing affected); Added missing headlight zone to purple area, disabled main menu option due to long load time. Will add menu zone as separate workshop item.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

There's a good mix of times coming through at the moment and I imagine there'll be more when 1.0 releases. I don't want to change the medial times as that would feel like I'm taking something away from the players, but I'm certainly hearing the feedback and will be bearing it in mind for future maps.

What's interesting is that there's some clearly skilled players in the mix (at least, based on their air control and reactions - mine are rubbish!) that are missing some of the obvious shortcuts, even the ones that draw attention to themselves. (n_n);

Also i suggest cutting the gold time in half (having the other records follow)..most people can probably finish this level under 6:45 so i think making it bronze and decreasing the times for silver-diamond might make more sense. This again is why i suggested joining the discord and letting persons playtest the level to get an average time to base the medal times of off..

It took about 4/5 runs tbh (first run was a proper run of the level/the others were testing cuts). When you play distance long enough, finding cuts become pretty easy :p. Thanks for removing the killzone, makes its much easier lol.

Surprised to see someone score a diamond (02:30) already - the shortcuts you use are more fluid than the route I was aware of too, jist is the same though (except going over the killzone in the first area - I'll need to remove that, artifact from an earlier layout). How many runs did that take?

It's possible to skip the tunnel in the Red zone too. Green is good.

I'll have to do a scenic route run just to make sure people see the sights. :)

Haven't played the level as yet but I would suggest joining the Distance discord. The level creators there are always willing to help out new creators like yourself.
