Save your Ammo and Gun for Oh ♥♥♥♥ momemts as well as Specials(Burning ones etc...)
I mean yah, shoot, dont worry about getting hit... until the NOISE RADIUS of 50M
starts attracting more hostiles.

Hostiles can walk through doors.... They will Crawl after you. The philosphy I embrace whole heartedly here is Go for the head while They are standing, and when they hit the ground.
Make sure they are dead before you take your eyes off 'em, also aim a little up and to the right, trust me, you'll get that pearly white smile in no time.

Yellow Boarders... A.K.A. Loot that ♥♥♥♥♥. Seriously, take everything, you can scrap it for easy / early cash, or try and sell it for decent cash. All done at the trader in the police station "yay autosave"

Quests and Skills - Talk to people, they will tell you to do ♥♥♥♥ for a few peanuts.

Abandon some logic on this one, early game setup seems like it will be key.

Sprinting - No.
You move faster walking than the enemie scraggling towards you. You quickly doing a 180, ( remember I said hit S after a swing ) and continuing to walk in that direction is a sure fire way to out run anything that you will come across at this point in the game.

Where as Looter, Sneaking , Dodging. Yes.

The extra loot, More PEANUTS
Sneaking into a room ( hold ctrl be default ), I've crawled over enmies that were laying in ambush, without them realizing it and also the surprise damage is quite useful when you 4 heads and not 0, like you where hoping for in that broom closet.
Dodging is a great for those Popular moments of "That was a mistake" among new players, so hold space bar to quickly but a few paces between you and whatever has decided it wants to tickle your organs with its Tongue Today...... Internal Organs........becasue the external ones would actually be quite .......Moving along then.
