TF2 Items and Ragdolls in Garry's Mod And Using Them In Posing
By Baron and 1 collaborators
I realise that there is a guide already on how to spawn items, but this is a simplified version, and uses a different method to the other guide. Images by Me.

Getting Started - Addons
So you want to spawn in some neat TF2 Hats/Miscs/Weapons etcetera? Well (Hopefully) this guide should help you out a bit. Firstly if you want to put these items on your ragdolls then you will need some addons, the most important addons would be the Bone Merger & Easy Bodygroup tool, however, TF2 Crit glow, TF2 Paint, Stand Pose Tool Gun, Animated Prop tool & the TF2 Robot Eye glow would also be recommended.

You do not have to download all of these, only the ones that are absolutely recommended

Boneless Addon Hexed. This is recommended as the original overrides the Medigun so it does not have an Australium Bodygroup, you can still download the original as it is quicker than finding the addon in the spawnlist menu.

Standing Pose Tool/Reference Pose tool. This puts the character in a standing position which looks better than grabbing a ragdoll, flailing it around and throwing your laptop/PC across the country.

This shall have an upcoming section on use later. This is a very time consuming but very high quality tool that allows you to create some of the highest quality scenes avaliable.
Bodygrouping and Items - A Quick Test
If you are already a pro bodygrouper and whatnot and you're a bit "Yeh okay stfu skrub" feel free to skip this section

Firstly start up a game & pick your TF2 ragdoll in the spawn menu, I chose an Engineer for this part.
Secondly stand your ragdoll up using stand pose, if you didn't download it thats fine, leave it on the ground for now. Next get out your Easy Bodygroup Tool and shoot Engie with it and hold Q to go back into the spawn menu, on the right it should say something like this:
Skin:
Hat:
Right Arm:

Skins on the engineer are as follows: RED, BLU, RED UBER, BLU UBER, RED Zombie, BLU Zombie RED UBER Zombie & BLU UBER Zombie. We will come back to the zombies later.

Hat is quite simple, it removes the engineer's hardhat, while Right Arm replaces the glove with the gunslinger, or removes the glove completely for the Short Curcuit.

Right now we want to get rid of his hardhat, so move the hat slider to 1 to take it off, next underneath spawnlists there is a search bar, type in:
Fwk_Engineer_Cranial

After searching this item your game's framerate may drop dramatically, this is usually normal and is only temporary. When the framerate returns to it's normal rate you can search for the item again, and it should appear, spawn it.
If you choose to do so, you may paint the headgear. The TF2 Paint Tool has 4 sub categories, Normal Paints, 'Newer' Paints, Team Colours and other paints such as lime green or pink.
Pink is used here to be seen clearer from just the thumbnail image.
Shoot the Headset and it should turn your selected colour then select Bone Merger (Near the top). Click on the engineer when you have the bonemerger out and then click on the now coloured Headset and right click, if done correctly then the Headset should be attached to your engineer. Now try this again with these items should you choose to have some extra training.
Engineer_Chaps
Engineer_Cowboy_Hat.
The engineer should look like this.

Spawning Weapons and Animated Props
*Note this will only apply to you if you have the animated prop addon/or if you don't care/just hate me in general.*
Firstly you will need to spawn an animated prop, right click a ragdoll then left click somewhere else. You should then get a ragdoll in a stand pose (or as it is correctly known as the REFERENCE POSE), then you can right click your animated ragdoll and open the menu to get a selection of different animations, for this we will use the animation Stand_Primary
Now to choose our shotgun, I'll let you decide
W_Shotgun (Regular Shotgun)
W_frontierjustice (Frontier Justice)
Tele_shotgun (Rescue Ranger)
C_DRG_POMSON (Pomson 6000)
Spawning items not listed in this guide
Please see my other guide for an ENORMOUS list of all of the cosmetics, weapons, attachments, projectiles etcetera.

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=395367659

It includes festives, australium weapons and loads more!
Zombies
Using the Easy Bodygroup tool you can find the zombie skins, you will notice that some of the parts are missing

Type Zombie in the search bar (or if you are looking for a certain class type *Class*_Zombie) and spawn the zombie you want:

Then use the bone merge tool to click on the zombie ragdoll and then on the green hoop on the zombie parts near the feet of the zombie.

Screenshot Samples
All Screenshots shown are mine. No screenshots are used by other players. All content here belongs to me and was made by me in Garry's Mod using the tools mentioned in the beginning and other content on the Garry's Mod Workshop.

Skeletons
Typing SKELETON into the search bar will bring up the Scream Fortress 2013 Skeletons and the Skeleton King. However spawning these ragdolls can sometimes instantly crash and close down the game (implying that sometimes they do not). The only way I can fully recommend and safely spawn them in without losing any progress is by using the Animated Prop Tool. At the top of the Animated Tool Options (Where you select animations) it should have the file name of the last used prop that was animated. Delete that and input the following. MODELS/BOTS/SKELETON_SNIPER/SKELETON_SNIPER.MDL
MODELS/BOTS/SKELETON_SNIPER_BOSS/SKELETON_SNIPER_BOSS.MDL
That should spawn a Skeleton. Bone merging some items like the Chronomancer to the skeleton will cause the item to Bend and distort across the map, for this reason you should be cautious as to what you bone merge to the skeleton.

Thank you for taking the time to read my guide if you have any problems or questions feel free to leave a message and I'll be sure to help as well as I can. I would also like to add that instructions to use the Animator Tool (Or Animated Prop Tool) lists (some) instructions when selected, thus why it is not listed on here.

It should also be noted that the guide was written and edited over the course of around a year to two years. This means there are varying degrees of how well written the guide is. Some sections may be clearer than others, in that case, it should be your decision to leave a message if you do not understand something written in the guide. I don't accept random friend requests as this would not be practical. It also must be noted that because the guide is no longer as popular as it used to be during it's 6,000 to 7,000 views, the comments have slowly died down so don't expect an immediate response.

Keep up the good work everyone

There's a little game controller button at the bottom right corner of the screen. If you click on it you should see a bunch of Source games, which you may or may not be able to add, depending on which you installed.

I'd recommend the Advanced Bone Tool more than the Joint Tool, to be honest.
