(And it seems to work anyway, so I suspect that the behaviour of the game is equivalent. Different calculations can give the same results.)
However I still find it strange that the points are limited to 2 during that multiple choice conversation. Oh well, if the dev really intended it to be this way then so be it!
The statement that there can be only one point per choice appears to be in contradiction with the diagram on the first sight, but the diagram still works. I think that's because I didn't put any subtractions of points in there. But that doesn't automatically make the diagram wrong, since for the reader (who doesn't know what kind of calculations the game does internally) it doesn't matter whether the points are subtracted or whether the points are added in other places as long as the point thresholds are shifted up accordingly. In both cases the result can be same. And it probably is, since I didn't find any discrepancies between the diagram and the game's behavior through extensive testing.
