C4 with extra wall break upgrade is an AMAZING emergency terrain deleter tool though. Make some space around the objective without wasting liters of drill fuel; quickly make yourself a bunker with enough space to run around; and, yeah, in a pinch you can delete crowds of bugs (and teammates) with it.

However some can also be cleared efficently using gunner's auto-cannons.

But its not even C4...

A real dwarf doesn't waste explosives or ammunitions...
