Terran Start
The Terran start is an excellent start for newcomers since you start with

- a fully equipped corvette
- 200'000 credits

Drawback being that you are:
- starting in Terran space
- The other races either have cool relations with you or downright hate you (argon)
- Access to the commonwealth requires you to "run the gauntlet".

In this guide, I'll show you how I start my regular Terran games by getting that CLS2 fast to setup my trading empire as early as possible.
Step one: Disregard firepower, aquire speed
Note: The text under the picture is its description

Dock at the shipyard in The Moon.

Buy a Valkyrie and fit it out accordingly. Max upgrades. I'd recommend you sell some of your EMPC's if you lack funds.

We are now ready to go. The Valkyrie has a top speed of 470.7 m/s which is very nice and very much needed for the next step.
Step two: Running the gauntlet
Note: The text under the picture is its description

I start running as fast as possible to the gates of every sector we enter. Heretic's End looks under Terran control.
Circle of Labour looks like trouble, I'll just take a good detour out of the action. Remember, caution is the better part of valor.
Omicron Lyrae full of those pesky argons who itches to fire upon us. Lucklly their ship engines are akin to turtles who just takes one too many tranquilizers, while mine is the energizer bunny on crack.
Flails on my tail??? Heresy! They are a bit close for comfort, but the gate is 5 km away me at this point and they'll never catch me. All according to plan *shaky pilothands*
Since I now have eluded Argons finest, some tinbuckets in space won't give me any troubles.
Sure enough, here's the Teladi giving those uppity calculators a good licking.Argons are everywhere, but as the song says: Can't touch this!
And here's the station we want with the CLS1 and CLS2.

Not so hard, was it? This trip took me about 25-30 minutes. A nice leisurely stroll.

This is the most direct route to Priest's Piety where you'll find the CLS2.
Where to buy TS as a Terran
Note: The text under the picture is its description

I highly recommend Saturn as where you buy your TS for CLS2 pilots.

Saturn has the jumpdrive, other nice software and the baldric. All you need except CLS2 which is easily obtainible through jumping your ships to Priest's Pity.
Terran Sectors And Jumping woes
Since Terran sectors use Trans-Orbital Accelerators, jumping back to Terran Space might be a challenge.

However, you have jumpgates which can be used with a jumpdrive in these sectors:

Asteroid belt (not recommended since it's a war sector)
Neptune
Althes
Megnir
Segaris
Aldrin 2

In addition, there are jumpbeacons randomly seeded in the Terran sectors which allows you to jump to them. They function the same as a jumpgate, allowing you to lock on with your jumpdrive.

To use them, you need:
- to find em
- have high enough relations with the Terrans.

First expensive solution:
- Use Springblossoms as blockade runners. With decent shielding and speed, they'll outrun 99% of the spawned argon ships. The 1% is when they do get attacked, hopefully the shield will hold, but the RNG god in X-games never smiles on the gamer so you probably will lose a few of em in the long run.

The second expensive "solution":
is a bit drastic, medium to very expensive and will have a loooong time to pay off. I can write it up in a future update of this guide. Just use the stock trading commands to sell goods between your stations located in two sectors, these commands will use the jumpbeacons and allows smooth transfer of goods while CAG's can then do the pushing.

The simple solution. Build another protein factory in Mars :)

The thing is the bonus package have not been updated to use the jump beacons. So any cag/cls that wants to go to mars will go to asteroid belt since that's the only way to those systems.
The blacklist is for trading, not for navigation if it's the only route to it's destination.
However, I've made a few suggestions you can try if you want to do it anyways.

Bonus:
There's two solutions if you want to bridge the gap between the terran war sectors.
2 expensive. And 1 simple solution.

Quick question about CAG if I may ask, i'm playing as the Terran's this game save, i've black listed the war sectors, I have a Protein factory in Uranus I have one trader assigned to the factory so he buys energy, sells the protein. I have a jump distance of 5 but he got destroyed in astriod belt. so does the blacklist mean he can't trade there? but can go to mars via jupiter/astroid belt? or does the black list mean hes to avoid that sector no matter what?

i'll give the paranid's a go then, i've shot down so many argon's! cheers for the reply

I'd start cornering energy then ice & water if you go strictly terran trading.

But that will take a while to give you credits. A better option would be to advance a bit further into paranid space and start trading there and start trading in the soja husk. Paranids hate argons so they'll watch your back.

My terran trading empire actually kicked off when I had repaired my argon reputation, so I didnt have to worry that much about em.

For Terran start, what sectors/factories did you use to make your money? I did a few bounties and picked up/sold missiles. got 5mil, but I know that to do the Terran plot i'm gonna need some serious Cr. I've read your CLS guide, where you suggested doing Energy Cells in Orebelt. but was wondering what you did for terran start.

Cheers

Another great Guide! I would add one step though... Before running the gauntlet of the War Sectors it is worth using the Ketana to fly through [avoiding a fight with your poor sheidls and weapons] just search for the remains of previous fights - plenty of stranded missiles and occasionally a Terran TS with no pilot. [The Terran Baldric]

The best part is that those Baldrics [Terran TS] often still have a gun [same as your Ketana's guns] and or a sheild that you can keep until you replace them later with better. After collecting a few missiles you fly back to Saturn or further and sell your surplus stock. Don't forget to Barter some of those stock as that will boost your Trader reputation. This lets you get involved in better deals and can even mean you get better offers from people needing you for little jobs.

I prefer to play the Terran start and by the time you get your CLS software you will have a good amount of capital.

Very nice, I was looking for something like this. Any advice on how to use CLS2 at its best? I'm a first timer on X3 Universe :D

It took you about 30 minutes. For those of us who want to trade a little before running the gauntlet we can leave the Ketana fully uquipped and ready to jump. One way to do that is take a look in the Asteroid Belt and if there are lots of large Terran ships and no Argon you can send the Ketan in to search for salvage. A few missiles will easily pay for all your upgrades ;)
