On the ajax search results there needs to be a way to save where on the list you are since when viewing a store page and going back you have to start on page 1 again.
Advanced string search

a way to search "for these words in this exact sentence",
a way to search for all these words / +all +these +words,
a way to search for anything -without -these -words,
a way to search for this OR that / this|that,
a way to sort the results,
a way to limit the results,
a way to search for tags&categories, such as [coop]+[controller]+[online_coop].
Highlight already owned games when viewing lists
Remove 100 item cap for the specials tab on the homepage to show all items on specials
Bug - There's no way to do a filtered search to find a specific game updates. You can only choose between search or filter. Having a better way to find all the update changelogs for a game is essential. (https://steamhost.cn/news/)
Ability to order the specials by discount level or price
Ideally put Early Access Games and Software in their own tabs unselected by default. Optionally add filters that save to only show certain "genres" of games in the feed.
(Example: If I filter to not show those genres in the store feed.)
Search by year or multiplayer categories

Store - Game Page
More specific genre explanitions
(Example: First Person Shooter, Third-person shooter, Hack and Slash etc) (Tags Beta)
Add user defined keywords for those that own the game to perfect a game's genre (Tags Beta)
Restrict the developer/publisher from adding too many genres to their game (a limit). Theres a lot of games that are in a lot of genres they don't belong in.
Add user defined keywords for those that own the game to perfect a game's genre
A way for developers to add important "You have read and agree to..." boxes to ensure the user knows the requirements and system specs before commiting to purchase.
Actual number of positives vs. negitive views

Sort/Search
Add new search filters: sandbox and local multiplayer. (Tags Beta)

Ability to disable event and group notifications from coming up, this can sometimes crash games.
Correctly saved window sizes.
(Example: if you maximize the window size and restart, it incorrectly saves the window size.)[/b]
Allow the uninstalling of free weekend games that can't be accessed via library anymore.

Community - Discussions
Limit the discussion area per game to actual owners, have a sub forum or FAQ for non-owners so they can ask questions. This will stop all the trolling from non-owners on a specific game.
Fix emoticons in quoted posts to work and parse correctly.
Better search filters and accuracy
Add Steam for Linux Link
(Example: Find posts in a date range, search by tags)
BUG: After posting a new post in a thread, and exiting from it. The thread shows not read but it is just my original post.
Have a full search on a given user Post/thread history.
(Example: Right now, the "View posts" link on our profiles restricts the listing to post made on that subforum, not all the posts. It gives a biased view of anyone's post history I can be a nice guy on the general forum, but a troll and an idiot on the TF2 subforum.)

It's meant to be a collection of suggested improvements to the Client.
I did notice a bunch of recent requests to add better DPI scaling to the Overlay, and when this got replied to I thought someone was going to mention improvements in the latest Beta.

What was the point of this guide? There were no steam forums?

There is a typo in the 2018 section: "Add SSH support to all store pages"
Perhaps the author meant "Add SSL support to all store pages" though that would be inaccurate as SSL is outdated, more accurate would be "Add HTTPS support to all store pages".

And just to be clear, just saying that I think its unlikely Valve will do it as of it, the suggestion is yet there, and will be nice if they do it
