Description
This is an edit of rp_city8_2_hl2_e but with some fixes and slight changes. See the list below:

* Fixed two combine props clipping through the nexus roof.
* Fixed the two double doors in the alley which were linked to each other.
* Fixed the nexus interrogation, armory and medical bay doors being able to be opened by Non-Combine players.
* Fixed a large prop clipping through an apartment opposite of the Nexus.
* Fixed some weird texture misplacements around the map.
* Fixed the no-collided stoves in the apartments around the map.
* Fixed Breencast broadcasting.
* Fixed the explosion at the Breencast Panel above the RDC.
* Removed the floating prop near the fire behind the garage in front of the mall.


I have also removed a bunch of props from around the map, specifically inside apartments in order to allow server owners to decorate the map to their heart's content without map props blocking their way.

All textures, models and sounds have been packed with the map.

IMPORTANT:
Please do not attempt to decompile this map, it'll be a mess. It took me several tries to decompile the map to a semi-stable state in order to fix the decompile errors caused since the original creator of the map (Commander) did not feel like looking for the VMF. If you wish to edit this map, comment on my profile and add me and I'll hand you the VMF along with the textures and everything.

The map is made for the HL2RP gamemode. The doors are only openable if you are playing on a combine character such as CP or OTA. Although, you can use some addons to force the door to open. Some that I can recall are Alyx's ESP Swep, Sonic's Screwdriver (or whatever its called idk) and the enhanced context menu addon.

The main City 8 HL2 Roleplay map.


City 8 takes place in the Combine Metroplex that was formerly Tokyo, Japan. As with City 17, the Universal Union has installed a Citadel and surrounding walls, and the rest is all pretty much common knowledge. It was intended to show a Combine city that perhaps embraced the new way of life more so than C17, where the Tokyo style could blend in with the CCA's trademark structures.

The City 8 storyline will take place on the TnB servers starting from mid-January 2010, as we attempt to do something refreshing with HL2 RP.

All mapping, textures, concept design, sound and models by DaveBrown.
The map is open to use by anyone.

I'm confused on the part of CP or OTA thing because like, maybe its just me being stupid, but the model, or something you choose in the gamemode

Ah, that's clever.
But yeah they do get annoying sometimes. I wanted to make many edits to this map to improve it, but this version is just a fix and nothing else, hence why I didn't change anything that wasn't necessary.

I see , well im sorry I wasnt trying to offend you im just saying the map really has too many annoying ambiance sounds playing, like it gets really annoying after 10 minutes, other then that its one of the best rp maps. Anyway I figured out a solution, with soundinfo I was able to track down the ambient sounds. And basically I extracted those files from hl2, rendered them as empty soundless wav. files and uploaded them to workshop for my servers content addon with the same wav. names , this way when people join they dont hear them ( empty files are playing )

I just fixed some bugs that the map had. Everything else came with the original version.

This is a super rp map dude but why did u trash the map with ambiance sounds ?
