Wade Barrett (NJPW DLC)

Wade Barrett, the winner of the first season of NXT, won the WWE Intercontinental Championship five times between 2010-2016, but always fell short of a world title in WWE.

Barett and his fellow NXT competitors took the wrestling world by storm with their invasion on Raw in 2010, and Barrett became involved in the WWE Title scene immediately. The Nexus, as his stable became known, feuded with John Cena for much of 2010.

Barrett split from The Nexus, only to eventually form a new stable, The Corre, which dissolved within a year.

Barrett was well liked by fans in WWE despite his villainous persona, and the charismatic Barrett evolved his gimmick into Bad News Barrett, a character who would appear and deliver bad news to others. The gimmick was ended when Barrett won the 2015 King of the Ring Tournament and became King Barrett.

Before leaving WWE in 2016, Barrett was part of the League of Nations stable that feuded with Roman Reigns.
