Using Cimtographer, import real roads and tracks to the game at the same scale.
Although the precision of the shape of the converted road is low, you can use it as a guide for the position, or you can correct it with Move It!
It is more convenient to use it together with OverLayer v2.

Open http://terrain.party/ with a web browser.
Since there is a frame at the beginning in Finland (Suomi), drag the frame from the zoom out to the place where you want to create the map.



After moving the frame to the desired place, save it with the Export button on the right side.



Type in the name of the land you want to save and press the OK button.
A zip file with that name is saved in your download folder.



After saving, unpack the zip file.
In the unpacked folder, there is one README text file and four Heightmap files that can be used as terrain data.
However, you only use one image file named (Merged).

In general, move the (Merged) file to the following folder. (This is not mandatory)If necessary, edit the image.

Open the unpacked terrain.party's README file.

Confirm that the following URL exists in the seventh line of the file.

The portion after "box =" is the four numbers representing the latitude and longitude of West, South, East, North. The four values are separated by commas.

Sort the four numbers in the following order.

After sorting, add that value to the end of the following URL.

Then URL will be like this
When you paste and open the URL in the web browser, The OSM file will be downloaded.

You can save the file in any folder.
Rename the downloaded file as "map.osm".
Any file name can be used. It may not have an extension.
You may attach the extension(.osm) yourself.

Create a new map in the map editor.
You can already use Cimtographer, But please import Heightmap first.
Import Heightmap.
If necessary, put water (pond, river and sea).

Cimtographer can only use 25 tiles by default.
Use 81 Tiles MOD in the map editor to unlock all tiles.
Use [ Shift ]+[ U ] shortcut key, or use [Unlock All tiles for free] button in the mod option.

Click on the road icon on the right end of the icon bar.
The Cimtographer mod configuration panel will open.

• Pedestrian Paths, Roads, Highways --- Set it to" True" or "False" as necessary.
  
• Scale、Tolerance、Curve Tolerance --- input 1.
  
• Tiles to Boundary --- 2.5 is 25 tiles. 4.5 is 81 tiles.
  - Note: Object limit
  --- Net Segments : 36352
  --- Net Nodes : 32256
  --- Net Lanes : 258048
  
• Path --- Enter full pathname. (e.g. C:\download\map.osm )
  
  After entering "Path", press [Load OSM From File] button.
  A few seconds later, The message changes from 'No osm file' to 'File loaded' .
  Then you can press [Make Roads] button.
  Work starts when you click "Make Roads" button, and it takes time for more roads to finish.
  "Making" is displayed on the panel of Mod while the road is being created, and "Done" is displayed when all roads are created.
  
  Even if "Done" is displayed, it may still be working. Wait for a while.
  
  When the road is completed, check if the map's ground and road are not misaligned.
  
  If the road is deviated, use Move It! And Anarchy to fix it.
  
  (Before importing Heightmap, you can edit the image and shift it by several pixels.)

Cimtographerを使って、現実の道路や線路を同じ縮尺でゲームにインポートする。
道路はマップの地形に沿って作られるようです。高架は実際に高架になります。
道路の太さや種類も、一応高速道路と一般道、一方通行、太い道と細い道を分けるくらいは反映しようとしているようです。
ジャンクションなどの複雑な形は、オプションで精度やカーブ精度を最高にすると多少は良くなります。

しかし変換された道路の形状の精度は低いので、正直実用的ではありません。
複雑な形の道路はまがりくねってインポートされるので、道路が多いと修正が大変です。
どうにかして位置の目安として使ったり、Move It!などで修正したりできるかもしれません。
OverLayer v2と併用すると更に便利。または、OverLayerで新規に引いたほうが速いかもしれません。

最初はフィンランド(Suomi)に枠があるので、表示倍率を縮小してからマップを作りたい場所まで枠をドラッグで移動する。



目的の場所に枠を移動できたら、右側にあるExportボタンで保存する。



この時に保存する場所の名前を聞いてくるので入力してOKボタンを押すとその名前が付いたzipファイルが保存される。



保存が終わったら、そのzipファイルを解凍する。
中にはREADMEテキストファイルが１つと、地形データとして利用できるHeightmapファイルが4つ入っているが、画像は(Merged)の名前のファイルだけを使う。

一般的には、Mergedファイルを次のフォルダに移動します。（これは必須ではない）

必要ならここでHeightmapの画像を編集する。
明るさ(高さ)の変更や、凹凸をぼかしでなだらかにする、岸壁をきれいにする等。

Terrain.PartyのREADMEファイルを開く。

ファイルの7行目に、次のようなURLがあるのを確認する。
これの box= 以降の部分は、東西南北の緯度と経度を表す4つの数値がカンマで区切られている。
その4つの数字を、次の順番に並べ替える。
並べ替えた後に、その文字列を下のURLの末尾に付け足す
すると、このようになる
WebブラウザにそのURLを貼り付けて開くと、OSMファイルのダウンロードが始まる。

ダウンロードされたファイルは「MAP」という名前なので、任意の名前に変更する。（拡張子は.osm）
ファイルはどこのフォルダに保存してもいい。

マップエディタで新規マップを作成する。
Heightmapをインポートする。
必要なら水を設置する（池、川、海）

標準ではCimtographerは25タイル内にしか道路を作れない。
81TilesMODを使って、全タイルをアンロックする。
マップエディタを開いている時に[ Shift ]+[ U ] のショートカットキーか、オプション画面の81Tilesのオプションで [Unlock All tiles for free]ボタンを押すとアンロックする。

それから、ツールバーの右側に増えた道路アイコンをクリックしてCimtographerの設定パネルを開く。



・歩道、一般道、高速道路を必要に応じてTrue(ON)かFalse(OFF)にする。
・Scale、Tolerance、Curve Toleranceは全て1にする。
・Tiles to Boundaryは4.5にするとマップ中心点から上下左右に4.5タイル分に道路を作る設定になる。（9x9=81タイル分）
しかし、都会などは道路のオブジェクト制限を超えてしまうことがあるので注意。
その場合はTiles to Boundaryを2.5（5x5=25タイル分）などに下げたり、高速道路だけを作るなどに設定を変更する事。
・Pathには、OSMファイルを保存したドライブ、フォルダも含めたフルパスで表記する。
（WindowsならダウンロードしたOSMファイルをShiftキーを押しながら右クリックしてパスとしてコピーしておき、このPath欄に貼り付けてもいい。前後のダブルクオーテーションは取ること。）

Pathの入力ができたら「Load OSM From File」ボタンを押す。
すると「Make Roads」ボタンが押せるようになる。
「Make Roads」ボタンをクリックすると作業が始まり、道路が多いほど終わるまでに時間がかかる。
道路の作成中はModのパネルに「Making」と表示され、すべての道路が作られると「Done」と表示される。

「Done」と表示されてもまだ作業中な場合があります、しばらく待ちましょう。

道路が完成したら、マップの地面と道路がずれていないかチェックする。

道路がずれている場合はMove It!とAnarchyなどを使って修正する。

※Terrain.partyとOpenStreetMapで同じ緯度経度を入力してもズレが生じる場合、
Heightmapは別の地図から入手した方がズレないかもしれない。
（例えば日本国内なら国土地理院から出力したheightmapを使う）
または、前もってHeightmapを画像編集ソフトで数ピクセルずらしておくなど。

最初にも書いたようにマップの内容によってはCimtographerよりOverLayerを使ったほうが、MoveIt!で一々修正していくよりも速いかもしれないですね。
でも一応Cimtographerの説明という事で使ってみた内容を残しておきます。

それから、このMODには作成されたマップやセーブデータをOSMファイルにエクスポートする機能もそなわっているので、そちらをなにか別のソフトにインポートしたい人には役立つと思います。
（ただ単に「地図」を作りたいだけなら、これでOSM出力するより下記のMODの方がお勧めですが）
