1H-Spears and Piercing Variants [DE]

Beskrivelse
Simple mod that adds additional one-handed spears and piercing variations for both one- and two-handed spears.
There are no changes to existing spears and the one-handed versions are adjusted for damage and range.

The mod is heavily inspired by https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1150572473 and all credit for the original idea goes to the author.

Since no changes to existing files are made the mod should be compatible with pretty much everything.
Nevertheless should problems occur, you want to suggest improvements or simply wanna give feedback feel free to contact me and I'll look into it.

Please note that there have been no changes to models and/or animations either so dual-wielding spears and spear+shield can look rather funky at times. There are no plans to change this at the time.

You can also find this mod on Nexus: https://www.nexusmods.com/divinityoriginalsin2definitiveedition/mods/120/

Wow. Using an axe I transformed my pretty good Rare-tier 2H spear into... Common-shit-tier 1H spear.
What a joke...

great mod but your mod does not add in the weapon skill from ether the spear (all in) or the off hand skill (sucker punch). It would be fantastic if you could add the sucker punch skill too all the one handed spears. if you do not want too, could you tell me where to get started modding? I have no idea what i am doing.

Is there any way you can make this work in GM mode? Like, add the spears in the Weapons tab so they can be used?

My character hits around 10 dmg each time he attacks at lvl4 which is really low. Am I doing something wrong?

Would be cool if the bonuses from the 2h spears transferred to the resulting 1h short spears after crafting. Even if unique 2h spears still can’t be used. Right now no matter what spear you use you end up with a common short spear with piercing damage and no bonuses.

So I've been enjoying your mod, for the most part. I was even amazed to hear of the option to 'convert to 1handed' via saw ( axe didn't work for me, saw did )
and they all ... all ... change to 1handed piercing. I just want a single, physical 1 handed spear. Argh!

Have I just been super unlucky to see NOTHING but piercing 1 handed spears?

Combining with an axe gave me lower quality 1h spear...

You said that combining an axe with a spear will make it into a 1 handed spear, does that work for unique spears. E.g. Withermores one? Like would cutting it in half just make it the same but with reduced stats or would it default to making it a plain old 1 handed spear? Also what's the clear tell that something is a 1 handed spear. So far I see plenty of spears in shops but the only one that I know is 1 handed is the "short spear" are there other names or easy ways to tell?

@BlackKnight they should randomly be available at merchants that sell 1h weapons, you can also cut down 2h spears with a saw

as for why not just making 2h spears 1h it's just simply balance and options
the 2h spear base damage sits a little bit lower than other 2h weapons but it is to account for the increased reach of the weapon, just changing it to 1h would make them quite a bit stronger than 1h weapons should be, at which point i might as well change their entire statline
that however could create conflicts with other mods that change weapons so there is no point imo
