S-51 - Budget Grade

In 1931 the soviets were intending to fit something with a large caliber howitzer for use against structures, but was setback until 1943, when the project was resumed at Bolshevik. The KV-1s was chosen as the base for the modification. The turret was removed and was replaced with the 203mm M1941 (B-4) howitzer that was usually found mounted on a small tracked towable platform. The weapon weighed slightly more than the original turret thus not impacting the suspension that much.

Unlike previous designs the S-51 lacked a full enclosure around its gun, but kept a gun shield to protect the crew from shrapnel and small arms gun fire. The 203mm howitzer had a muzzle velocity of 607 meter per second, could fire a 100 kg shell a maximum of 18.25 kilometres, and required a 10 man crew to operate the vehicle.

The vehicle weighed 50-51 tons and was submitted to testing in February of 1944 but was never selected for mass production even though it successfully passed trials. Smaller Spgs based on vehicles like SU-76 were instead preferred mounting them with a 122mm howitzer that could be more easily transported, and costed less to manufacture.

In place of today's intended upload... (Due to mechanical issues...) We have the Budget Grade S-51 which is part of the same budget tank set that the previous Maus upload belongs to. Thus this tank is 167 parts, and is balanced for combat against the other budget tanks / multiverse compatibility with multiple machines at play. This tank unlike the other budget tanks has a low in comparison cannon power of x4... But allows it to arc HE shots over buildings and hills to hit enemy tanks. It also comes with a sky camera to allow cross map shots however may be difficult to use.

Its mobility and traverse speeds are meant to mimic the S-51 in world of tanks~
