Other guides dont have Screenshots which made vaults difficult to find.

Things to Remember

To open a data vault, get out of you ship and use your repair laser on the red panels to turn them green. Keeps doing this until you can shoot the data leak (Noisey Thing) with your laser.

When scanning for Vaults the results will appear as Purple.
The scan range is severly reduced for Purple Anomalies
Try to use Gates and Resource fields as points of reference, stations are built dynamically and could be in different positions, or may not even exist.
Space Rifts also appear as Purple blips, careful not to fly through them unprepared and end up deep in Xenon Space
When you get close, vaults will appear as a Small blue Tag on your radar
In the screen shots below, the location is at the white square, if its too small to see, click on the image to make it larger.
If you claim a sector, any data vaults in the system will appear on the map as green, (Thanks Stryderunknown)

Locations

1 Antigone Memorial
This one is out of the way a bit, Its just below the warf, but look at the resource field patterns if your warf is in a different area. Its at the bottom left. There is also rift near that green nav beacon on the left.

2 Hatikvahs Choice III
At there top of this sector there is a Gas Field, it right next to this.

3 Trinity Sanctum VII
At the top left of the sector in the Asteroid/Gas Field, there is also a Rift nearby

4 Pious Mists XI
The asteroid field is an upside down Y, the vault is in the bottom right.

5 Ianamus Zura VII
In the bottom right asteroid field.

6 Scale Plate Green VII
Incredibly Difficult, exactly 400km from closest gate, out in the middle of nowhere with no points of reference, make sure you dont accidentally fly too high or too low to find it, and you need to fly through a fleet of xenon, dont attempt this one unless you hate yourself.
The art of Ecky Thump may prove useful here.

7 Black Hole Sun IV
In the Centre is a resource field with both Minerals and Gas, Almost directly south is the Vault

8 Cardinals Redress
37km North of the inactive jump gate, a little lower than directly west from the gate to lasting vengence

9 Silent Witness XI
This one is off to the right in the middle of No-where

10 Heretics End
There are 2 inactive jump gates in this system, if you go to the left most one and then travel east 85km you should find the vault

11 The Reach
This one is a bit harder to find, the asteroid field here is a large circle, in the lower part of this circle is where the vault is, fortunatly, there is a rift within scanning distance which can make it easier.

12 Grand Exchange I
Just below the South east gate in the Purple Gas Field

13 Nopileos Fortune VI
This one is far down to the right near the station, the "?" you can see in the picture is a lock box

14 Matrix #9
Above the gate there is an inactive gate, then only a short fly west for this vault

15 Lasting Vengeance
This might be a bit hard to find if you stations are in different positions since there are no other points of reference, the vault is 308km from the gate.

16 Second Contact II Flash Point
Near the nothern gate, pay attention to the resource area patterns and this one will be easy.

17 Atiyas Misfortune III
Head straight West from the jump gate to find this one

18 Hewa's Twin I
This one is easy to find, its in the Gas filed below the Trading station and Defence platform.

19 Profit Centre Alpha
This one is easy since it is within scanning distance of the inactive jump gate in the north.

20 Silent Witness XII
ENE From the Kha'ak Stations on the left

21 Holy Vision
Just above the Jumpgate leading to the Xenon Sectors

22 Trinity Sanctum III
This one is very close to the Highway that juts out to the side, Just above the Mineral/Gas Fields

23 Second Contact XI
188km Directly North of the gate

24 Memory of Profit X
South of the gate, a little to the right, small system so it should be easy to find.

25 Silent Witness I
This one is Just north of the lower Jumpgate, its very close and should be easy to find.

26 Pious Mists IV
This one is in the middle of the Purple resource field that runs through the Sector

27 Eighteen Billion
This sector has a C shaped Resouce field, the Data vaulkt is in the Lower left side of it.

28 Morning Star III
This is a small sector, this one should be easy to find with scanning.

Thanks for the guide, the achievement only needs 28/29 to unlock, and the 29th is in the Void to the south of the southern gate, not far away from the gate

So. Apparently if you have DLCs, there are 29 vaults, 29th is in the void to the south, but. That vault unlocks same timeline entry as one of the other vaults, and if it is already unlocked, timeline won't change. Meaning you can unlock entire timeline and still will be missing one of the vaults, and you won't know which.

You can stumble upon the "void" vault during "geometric owl" mission, and in my case apparently it unlocked same entry as Second Contact XI vault. That whole mission was one huge waste of time.

This guide would have been 1000% better if you had simply screen shotted every sector zoomed out enough so the entire sector was in view. Then we would know where to look for the vaults based purely on the screen shot.

Second Contact XI data vault was a bugged, but I just quick save then reload then worked fine.

I was kinda hoping that at the end of all this work just like all the other long lead ups and labor intensive processes such as the Xenon Super Gate Hub unlock, netted you some unique reward or unlock....a Modular "roomed" salvaged ship of boron design would have been epic. you unlock and all the arrays triangulate to something big... like a large hangar with a unfinished prototype of boron origin..such as a old prototype Boron Ray, as you recover the ship it has plans to build a command module, generator room, engine room, as well as a chain lighting generator and so forth that you have to assemble in the hangar. Bosa Ta asks if there's any data modules on the ship with information on were his people went. :P

Second Contact XI data vault is bugged for me; scanned the data signal, says I got an entry but nothing showed up in the timeline.

Can confirm the Void data vault 'objective fulfillment' is broken. Not completing.

Can confirm Sabaithal's directions on where to find the new Vault #29 in The Void. It is about 100km south of Frontier Edge gate and 42km UPWARDS from the galactic plane.

@kelmenwong Station locations are random, make sure you go off the gates.
Also cant remember how long the range is on the scanner but there is a limit.
Maybe try going closer if your far away.

Data Vault 29 is located in the void, approx 100m south of the frontier edge jumpgate, and above you. Way above you. Still shows long range scanner echo when pinged. Though oddly, is not completing the "historical logs" quest when unlocked and scanner.
