The Basics
So, first thing you need to know is the basics of the game. All you need yo do in the game is click the light switch. When you do, you turn the lights off and on.

Sometimes, when you turn the lights on, an object will appear on the screen. That object can be moved around the room. The amount of clicks needed for an object to appear grows exponentially.
Once you summoned all available objects, they will start coloring themselves one by one in the same fashion in which they appear.

Finally, when you gather a certain amount of clicks (i.e. you summoned every object and colored it), you beat the level, unlocking the next one and the achievement.

If you exit the game before completing the current level, you'll loose all your progress in that level.
The autoclicker
Since no sane person in the entire universe could complete this game without the aid of an autoclicker of some sort, I strongly recommend using one. Doesn't this ruin the point of beating the game? No. There is no point in beating the game. Unless you want the achievements or something.

I used Murgee Auto Clicker, but I guess you can use any kind of similar software. This one is found here: http://www.murgee.com/auto-clicker/

Using this program, you can change the time between clicks (I used 1 milisecond, I don't know if you can use less), and configure a key to activate the clicking.
So, you enter the game, choose a level, put the mouse over the switch and just press the key you assigned for the autoclicker.
The game doesn't process the clicks at the same speed as the clicks if they are to fast, but that's not a problem.

You can't do anything else while the program is left to auto-click, so you can go do something out of the computer while the game progresses.
Beating the game

Normal mode

amout of clicks: 10212
estimated time: 5 min

!Nightmare! mode

amout of clicks: 22450
estimated time: 10 min

!!Hell!! mode

amout of clicks: 49148
estimated time: 25 min

!!!Inferno!!! mode

amout of clicks: 107175
estimated time: 60 min
In this mode the clicks actually go down with time, but it's like 1 click per second so it's no problem
I accumulated over 188000 clicks, now what?
Congratulations! You just beat the game. Those rumors about winning games or discounts for other games by completing the game are BS (Exept that one that says that when you complete the game all your dreams come true). What have you won? Did you achieve anything in reality? Did you learn something by doing this? No, but now you have 4 more steam achievements unlocked in your account. Whohoooo!

you dont get the achievement if you use an autoclicker

I actually had the patience go click manually 10000 on the first level, thought I beat the level and quit to come back later and lost all my progress. So now I'm gonna do it again, and yes, I'm still insane enough to not use an autoclicker during the whole thing. Wish me luck.

pretty disappointing guide tbh. I was hoping it would have help on where to fit everything in the scene and the lore behind each item, but instead it just shows how to cheat

The fun fact that this game is a commentary about pointless repetative actions in games for which you obtain some useless stuff like achievements. And here you are, doing repetative stuff to obtain achievements not learning anything.

Did you notice the popular discussion post around that time where people claimed to get keys for GISH, and early access to Edmund's up and coming title? It was so hilariously untrue that it hurt.

Also I'm the sad fool who actually did the final level without an auto-clicker. The trick to doing it required taking breaks by putting the computer into sleep mode as quick as possible, since it pauses the decreasing click count during that time.

Great guide though!

Thank Christ on Heavens it is possible to adjust of clicks with Cheat Engine. Not much clicking needed after that. Use "Unknown initial value" followed by, after each click, "Increased value". Soon enough you'll find the click count address. Scroll the list once it gets short. You can even search "Exact value" coz current number is stored as plain text. If a nub like me could figure it out so shall you (just follow built-in CE tutorial for a bit if you never used it).
I set mine above values mentioned in the guide and after that each second click (light ON) a circle was added/painted. This way only ~150 clicks were needed to complete each stage.

Murgee Auto Clicker went full paywall about a year ago. Nasty surprise for when I played Cookie Clicker (no comment). I use "OP Auto Clicker 2.1" since. Same thing but less features. Watch out for fake .exe viruses. Surprisingly, there aren't many good & free auto-clickers that I could find.

To youre reading this good job:
If you mean "How do I unlock A.V.G.M.?", it's very simple: just beat Coil. It mostly just consists of moving your mouse around until stuff happens. Trust me, it won't take long.
