Download the FSAA patch from Github[github.com] (other links on Steam are all dead). If you're not familiar with Github, there's a green button on the top right from the file list that says "clone or download." Click that then "download as zip." Open it up then go to the folder called "BR2.FSAA.Patch.1.666" and copy all files into your Bloodrayne 2 directory (/common/BloodRayne 2).



Open br2fsaaConfig.exe. First tick "Enabled" under "Force Resolution" and input whatever you play at.



Next go over to the HUDs tab and change the settings for HUD Resize - Horizontal to 80%, Boss Hud Resize - Horizontal to 80%, and Boss HUD Displacement - Horizontal to 116%



Lastly, go to the Cut Scene tab. Click "Install the NEW 'cutscene.dll'" button, then select your video player (I use VLC), specify the path, test your configuration, and click "Write Your Configuration To Cutscene.ini." If you don't do that last step you'll still have broken cutscenes.



Now save your config and exit.

• Download XInput Plus from this link[727bf750-a-62cb3a1a-s-sites.googlegroups.com].
  
  Unzip it to any folder except the BloodRayne 2 one.
  
  
• Download this file[www82.zippyshare.com] and unzip it anywhere except for the BR2 folder and also the XInput folder. This is the controller configuration file created by Darth Sideous from his guide that unfortunately no longer works for whatever reason.
  
  Copy ONLY XInputPlus.ini from this zip and place it inside /common/BloodRayne 2.
  
  
• Open XInputPlus.exe from wherever you unzipped the first folder. On the top right there is a button with three lines, click this. Click "load setting from file" and select the XInputPlus.ini that you just unzipped into /common/Bloodrayne 2. Now click "select" under the Target Program field and choose br2.exe from your install folder.
  
  
  
  Click Apply at the bottom then OK twice. Close XInputPlus.

Launch BR2 from Steam as usual. You'll get this screen.



Disregard the resolution, as the FSAA patch will force it to whatever you selected there. Click "on" for Bump mapping, Dynamic shadows, and Reflections, and "High" under Texture detail. Then click OK to launch the game.

Your controller should work at the main menu. If it doesn't, you've already messed up. One possible thing to try is going to Options --> Controls --> Calibrate gamepad. If it doesn't recognize your gamepad's axes here, you definitely screwed up and should start again.



Now start playing. Once in-game (as in, you're in a level and are playing), hit Start on your controller/ESC and select Cheats the Enter Cheat. The rest is subjective, although objectively a correct opinion.

• Enter "DODGETHISMOISTPIMP" to enable easy gibs on non-boss enemies. I found this reflects the carnage and enemy health of BR1 much more closely, not to mention how fun it makes the game. It might seem far easier at first, but thanks to the game's infinite spawning bad guys it's still extremely likely you'll die...a lot.
  
  
• For sections you can't get past because of aforementioned infinite spawns combined with terrible controls, enter "UBERTAINTJOADDURFKWIS" for god mode. I found this makes the stages where you have to precisely throw people into objects somewhat tolerable. Toggle it off after you've spent half your life wrangling the toss mechanic to do what you want, or just leave it on because at this point you're probably infuriated at the game.
  
  
• For the stages you simply cannot get past thanks to the laughable game design, enter "ANOMALIESAREJUANINSULATED." Next, quit the game back to the main menu, go to Extras, then select the level just past where you were. For example, now you don't have to deal with "Club Strages," because that is a level designed by an incompetent field rat and should never have been created.
  
  

I did find that saving progress after using the level select cheat is hit-or-miss, so if you get triggered by wonky save files use at your own risk.

Because let's face it, even with all these fixes and cheats, BloodRayne 2 is still a game designed by a total idiot, with outdated mechanics even at the time of release and a disjointed narrative that doesn't even compare well to its predecessor.
