"Today the country shutters in the wake of cataclysmic devastation.
Torn by war with a brutal and terrifying enemy the likes in which we have never seen.
This morning I awoke to the sound of thunderous crashes that I thought could only be an earthquake,
but as I looked outside and saw their battleships looming over the city, each one wider then Forbes field and each leaving nothing but burning disfigured wreckage in its wake.
Former friends and neighbors now lie in storm drains limbs twisted in ways i can't begin to describe
This struggle for the very survival of mankind
This struggle that has now reach across the shores of our homeland
This struggle ladies and gentlemen may now be....forever lost."

-Henry Stillman, Radio USA

On that tragic morning millions of Americans would perish at the hands of the Chimeran war machine as it relentless swarmed over the entire Nation. Fearing the likely hood of invasion the American Government had begun the evacuation of civilians to the Liberty Defense Perimeter, but the order would came too late. Tens of thousands of civilians now await fleets of VTOLs to ferry them to their promised salvation, many of these evacuation zones would become overrun leaving no one alive to save...but some did make it. The Evacuation Site E16 had been located next to a collection of large Anti Air batteries which prevented the Chimeran fleet from destroying the site like it had so many others, but this did not mean it was safe, what they could not accomplish with their ships they would with their Ground forces.

The 506th Infantry Regiment, Remnants of the 3rd Armored Division and a hodgepodge of Air assets would be task to hold Site E16, exhausted from a morning of setbacks and fierce fighting they used what little time available to dig in and prepare. They had drawn a line in the sand and no six eyed bastard was going to cross it, many of the families waiting to be airlifted were those of the men of the 506th, in accordance, most vowed to willingly lay down their lives if necessary to save their loved ones. The Skirmish raged for hours as the battlefield ebbed and flowed, Chimeran mass assault tactics were bloodily repulsed time and time again by the fanatical resistance offered by the soldiers and their tanks. Growing frustrated with the human defenders the Chimeria finally brought up their massive siege platforms in hopes of simply wiping the entire front line clean. The men of the 506th had fought in Europe, they knew how to kill anything that was delivered unto them. Regardless, causality had reach a breaking point and a Chimeran break through look inevitable. But through skillful use of the remaining tanks and close air support the Chimeran attack was repulsed once again. Shortly after a radio message was broadcasted to all units in the city "Fallback and proceed to Site E16, I repeat fallback to Site E16, we are getting you all out of there". When the defenders arrived, the acting officer at the LZ asked a 506th member "were the rest of his unit was?" he simply replied "this is it". Of the estimated 1500 men whom participated in the defense only 130 would return alive, battered, bruised and bloody, but alive.

A report taken from one of the VTOL pilots who flew the last sortie out of the city reported on the amount of destruction from the battle, he describe it as total, half a dozen Goliath siege weapons lay destroyed, at least a dozen Stalkers and God only knows how many Chimeran hybrids, even so it was a Pyrrhic victory to say the least, a small victory in a day of defeats. After arriving at the the Liberty Defense Perimeter the 506th and 3rd Armored were disbanded. After gaining the attention of SRPA director Richard Blake whom described them as "Men of the highest caliber", the majority of the survivors found their way into the Special Forces Group SRPA. These men would fight to the end, falling in the failed attack on the Chimeran tower in New York. As time went on the legendary deeds of the Regiment would be overshadowed by many of the events that transpired throughout the war. Regardless of it all they Stood Alone in the face of impossible odds, brothers to the end."
