Initial Setup:

  • Open Music Creator 6 Touch
  • Go to Edit | Preferences | Audio | Devices

  • If you are using an audio interface select the "ASIO" driver mode if it has not already been selected.

    or

  • If you are using a generic on-board Realtek Sound Card or Generic Windows Compliant USB Microphone/Guitar Cable select the "MME (32bit)" driver mode.

Make sure that you have installed the latest drivers for your interface. You can find these downloads anywhere on the manufacturer's Technical Support, Downloads, or Knowledge Base web pages.

  • Next, set Playback Device to the main outputs of your audio interface. Typically audio interfaces will label these as “(Device Name) Main” or “Outputs 1-2”.
  • If you are using a generic on-board Realtek sound card or USB Microphone then select “Speakers”.

Devices

  • Afterwards, set Recording Device to the inputs you have your microphone or guitar cable plugged into. Typically this is labelled as “(Name of device) 1-2”. Select [Apply] once you are finished and close the Preferences window.

To Record Audio from your Audio Device:

  • Go to the "IN/OUT" section underneath the vertical fader.
  • The top drop down menu below "In/Out" is the input for the for this track.
  • Select this and set the audio track to “Input 1” or “Left (Device Name) 1-2”.

Hey Beltz4life, I might be able to help you with that. worked forever on that problem myself. Got it working last night. My steam name is Hear Me Smell. Friend me up and I'll chat with you about it. Given all the back and forth possibly involved, I don't want to do it here.

Hope to catch you.

As to the information in this posting, none of it is working for me. I can not record from my USB mic. Hoped this thread would sort it out for me, but my in/outs on the channels won't offer my mic as an option, even though I've the device as the recording one in settings. I can hear the mic coming through the speakers/headphones when I turn on "Listen to this Device" in windows audio setup, but the channel meters aren't moving an inch, and I can't record a thing through it. Any ideas? Maybe? Please??

I tried everything in every tutorial I can find and still cannot record anything from the Synth Cakewalk Sound Center. I've followed these instructions as well as others' on multiple videos and still cannot record ANYTHING that comes out of the Sound Center.
