Mobile Power Pack Kit

Description
Author: Brenku [Bean]
Version 1.1
Initial: 13.1.2019
Updated: 19.1.2019

-= Purpose =-
Have you ever been in survival, to find a grid without power?
Building a huge battery, or reactor, is overkill if you just want to pull some items through the conveyors.
Or perhaps you have a small remote defense turret, which needs minimal power to function?
Or maybe it would be nice to have a simple light on a grid:
* To mark entrances to ore mines
* Throughout tunnels you build to better find your way in and out.

These blocks will address those problems and more.
Slap up a wall mounted battery block, or a 1x1 solar panel to provide small amounts of power.
You won't fill up your inventory or kill your supplies having a couple of these around.

The idea, is that you don't use this to power ships. It's meant to supply a little power, when you might really need it, and is an option over having to build or find resources for a full reactor or battery block.

This is the initial release, and was designed with my own game style of play in mind. Perhaps it can help others too though.

-= Upcoming Survival Update - Small Battery vs. This mod =-
* For starters, this mod works on both sized grids. The upcoming vanilla small battery block is only for small grids. Making these more versatile.
* Second, this mod's battery max output is 480kW. The upcoming small battery block is max output 200kW. However, I am considering reducing this output to be more realistic.

-= Rebalanced 18.1.2019 =-
I have re-balanced this a bit. I do have a method to my madness though. Read on:

Changed
• Dropped Power Cells to 2 from 5.
• Dropped Max Stored power to 108kW/h from 480kW/h
• Dropped Max Output to 432kW from 480kW.
○ Equivalent = (2x 'small grid' cells) from Vanilla Small Grid.

This gives this mod pack a competitive advantage vs. the new Small Battery Block.
• Works on both Large and Small Grids!
• Double the max output.
• Double the stored power.
• Similar resource requirements.

Justification
The new Small Battery block from KeenSWH (Survival Update),
is based on Fraction stats of the Large Grid Battery block.
The Battery Block, small grid size, has unique statistics.
Thus, I based my fraction stats on THIS block instead.
Maintaining a vanilla plausibility!

If you want to get into the math of it, you can check out my breakdown[i.imgur.com] here.

-= Blocks Introduced =-
Portable Wall Mounted Battery for Large Grids and Small
* Wall Mounted Mobile Battery
• Max Stored Power: 108kW/h
• Max Output: 432kW
• Equivalent = 2 Cells from Vanilla Small Grid Battery Block.
• Check out my breakdown[i.imgur.com] the power breakdown vs. balancing.

Portable Wall Mounted 1x1 Solar Panel for Large Grids
* Mobile 1x1 Solar Panel
- 1/8th the cost of a vanilla solar panel
- Max output: 15kW (Vanilla is Max output 120kW)

Portable Wall Mounted 1x1 Solar Panel for Small Grids
* Mobile 1x1 Solar Panel
- 1/50th the cost of a vanilla solar panel
- Max output: 600W (Vanilla is Max output 30kW)

-= Note about realistic balancing =-
Perhaps these blocks are every so slightly more expensive, as you need at least 1 component of the material.
You can't do 0.5 of a steel plate for example.
I consider this cost negligible, and worth it for the better versatility of placement.

-= Credits =-
Wall mounted battery is reused from the ' Wall Mount Battery + Support for Phoenix's Discharged PowerCells Mod ' by THUNDERCOMPUTER . Used with permission. Adjusted requirements and specs.

Solar Panel by Me.

@[SE] Bean So does this mod still work?
Delebre  [author] 29 Apr, 2021 @ 6:08am
Right! Or to get something through the connectors to get a system back online. I often shuttle around hydrogen tanks. If you just slap a connector on it, it can't do much without power. 1 of the solar panels and one of the batteries basically keep it ready 24/7.

I also like that glowstick mod which came out. Cool idea. Needs inventory stacking though!

This is great for when you oops and you just need enough power to get systems online so you can start your hydro generator to charge your batteries

It's not RIP.. I'm still here. I just haven't done development for a long time with SE.

This model could be perfect, it just miss lights to indicate the charge level. Why not use the 3 points on each side of the battery for that...

I think it's RIP, i'm using 1x1 solar panels rebuilt and vanilla small battery.
Thankyou for help with your mod.

.... RIP mod? :steamsad:

Hello Brenku, This is a great mod idea. I'd like to implement it into my survival server but I've noticed it does not have a progression system. Would it be possible for you to add it in the near future? If not, may I add it for you?

This is awesome

@Dark - Currently, I have changed it so that they do not conflict with each other, if there are changes made. :(
I will consider peeling the 1x1 solar panel off, to it's own mod. Then you could add it to the other one, if you prefer the other one to this one.
