Nexus Mod Manager Basics
The Basics of MOD MANAGER

This section will be about HOW to get Nexus Mod Manager to work correctly if your using a load of mods at the same time and hope to get them all working together and correctly.

A few people have asked me about all the 800+ mods i have got running and figured i would make a guide about it to help people get the best out of there skyrim as i think some people dont understand really how managing mods are ment to work or just how easy it really is.

First of all register an account at the nexus forums and download mod manager and install it. This is all free so dont pick any payment options (thats only if you want quicker downloads i think) and once mod manager is installed and set up then your ready to go.

The main tip i can give for people downloading over 200+ mods is to organise and test each mod first before downloading like 10 at a time and preying for the best. I have found only a few animation mods work at a time and more than 7 seems to cause the crapped out rainbow effect (anyone who has played fallout 3 on an xbox360 will know what im on about with that crash) i have also found its best to download 1 mod , then load up the game, test it all works, quit, install a new mod and repeat onwards basically.

Now some people out there will not use NMM............now if you DONT and your game BREAKS and will just CTD everytime then this is your OWN fault. The main reason you should ALWAYS use nexus mod manager is because you can install mods safely + arrange the load order much easier + disable mods which are causing issues and re-organise the load orders so they should work better. Downloading and using Mod manager is FREE and its very simple and easy to use and makes installing mods much safer

Before you download anything download the NMM program and install it. Download mods using the mod manager and install them using the mod manager. If a CTD event happens then you can find the problem much easier with mod manager and fix the problem

When downloading a file go onto the NEXUS website, find the mod you want, click DOWNLOAD WITH NMM, the program should open if (once you allow it as your pc will ask permission) and the file should begin downloading. Once its completed click on MODs in the mod manager folder and you should see cut off sections such as

Weapons (folder)
textures (folder)
visuals (folder)
etc etc etc

If its an armor mod then click on the ARMORS folder and then you should see the file, double click to install it and once it says installed then it should be all done.

Remember to check your load orders if you have any issues
SKSE - The EASY WAY - Enhance Your Skyrim Gaming
Installing SKSE the simple way - get the best outa your game

Ok this is going to be made VERY easy and VERY simply because ive seen way to many guides being explained by people who must think others are just asking for trouble and making things super over complicated.

I will explain how to install SKSE easily and without any fuss or problems but first im going to explain WHY you need this mod installed.

Firstly your going to need this because if your using mods at all then this will the following other mods helps fix all the games (well 95% or so) CTD problems. Once SKSE is installed you will need RaceMenuFix and SafetyLoad mod and the odd others here and there. This along with SKSE will basically fix a lot of the games CTD problems that the game seems to suffer.

Another reason why you need this is because its a script editor, now i know this wont make a lot of sense so in English it means this - with this mod installed you can install around 900 hair mods + ECE + dozens of outfits + open cities and in English it means because you have SKSE installed and these mods that it SHOULD = to this - Your outside and open the console command and type showracemenu. Now without SKSE and racemenu+safetyload your game WILL crash if you have loads of hair mods and face mods installed. However with SKSE and these others it means you game will NOT crash and showracemenu and the hairs etc will show instantly.

Here is were to get SKSE from

http://skse.silverlock.org/

follow the link and download the zip file version.

Now before you do ANYTHING else watch the video thats shown on the SKSE page and follow EXACTLY what he does. Doing this is the easy way to install SKSE as all your really doing (in short) is moving 5 files to the skyrim folder + adding the rest via mod manager and then opening up skyrim via a different shortcut and thats it.

Trust me you DO need SKSE for skyrim as it really stops all the annoying issues with CTD or opening race menu, speaking of which once SKSE is installed you will need SafetyLoad and RaceMenu. You can get both these mods here

Picking an ENB - Various choices - Part 1
This section of the guide will focus on what type of ENB you might want to select. For those who do not understand an ENB basically enhances the games graphics more. It adds more shadow effects and sharpens the images more and adds more color into the world.

This however does come at a price, your FPS will suffer depending on what type of pc/rig that you are running but its mainly down to what graphics card your working with.

-The Basics -

Ok so in short IF your planning on installing an ENB you basically have to follow these simple steps

1) No matter what ENB you will be using your doing to need the DLL file. Usually all the ENB pages on the nexus website have links to exactly WHICH DLL file you will need for that specific mod.

2) Your RAM and Graphics card. Lets be honest if your graphics card isnt that great are your stupid enough to try and run a game like skyrim on a pc then your just asking for trouble installing an ENB such as RealVision or Sharpshooters. You will need a more lower usage ENB but thats even IF your computer can handle it - in short dont try and force a square block through a circle hole

3) Make SURE you put the data files in the SKYRIM folder and NOT THE DATA FOLDER. Seems a lot of people do this and cannot understand why there game suddenly stops working.
In short when you go to the website to get the ENB required it will give you the DLL file and you will then need to get the ENB files themselves, usually once the zipped folder is open these will all have ENB at the end (like .exe but instead it will be .ENB) so basically all you have to do then is drag the DLL file in the skyrim folder with the ENB files. An easy way to do this is CUT the dll file and copy it into the same folder with the enb files. That way if your swapping enb's around you can just grab everything at once and move the files together.

- The Main ENB's used -

These are the main ENBs that most people use. Some effect performance while others do not, its a case of mid to high depending on your card and also what other set-up mods your using such as Climates of Tamrial etc

PROJECT ENB

This is one of the most comman ENBs used and it about MID in range of what takes perfomance wise. It adds more color into the world and gives things a much more rounder 3D feel to them. The best way to think of it is to take skyrim on Ultra settings and then add a little more with sprinkles.

You can get Project ENB here

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/20781/?

Now PROJECT ENB is rather good for 2 reasons
1) The DLL file doesnt take up a lot of performance to run unlike a lot of other DLL files.
2) If your running skyrim on Ultra then this wont effect perfomance or loss in FPS by much at all yet still gives you this beautiful result

Another great feature about project enb is that you get DOF (Depth of Field) thrown in which means you dont have to mess around installing that on its own and it seriously adds to the game.

CINEMASCOPE

This is another fantastic enb to use especially for people with mid range/low gaming rigs. The amazing thing about cinemascope is that it has pretty much near zero effect on FPS. The DLL file hardly effects the game nor does the enb itself yet still adds this wonderfull effect.

You can get CinemaScope here
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15425/?

If you dont like the film grain or the movie boarders at the top and bottom of the screen you can remove these very easily by just adding a file from the enb folder you get with the download.

Now CinemaScope isnt as good as the other enbs as it wont make the game look seriously different like what RealVison or Sharpshooters can do but it does help add to the game. The only serious downfall i can find with CinemaScope is that it doesnt come with DOF

Picking an ENB - Various Choices - Part 2
RealVison ENB

This enb is meant to be the one a lot of people swear by is the best, for me however i found it to be too dark and gloomy and too much of a pain in the ass to install for what results i ended up with. The main problem you get with RealVison is that the page shows these videos of the game looking almost like real life BUT in order to do this you need a very high powered graphics card THEN you need to install a ton of other mods as well, then you also need to install the DATA files into the game which is only really 100% safe if your using mod manager to do this.

In short to get whats on the tin you need to go through a lot of hoops and im not 100% sure the results are really worth it considering what other enbs are on offer. I have seen various people using RealVision and they dont look like whats on the videos being shown on the pages description.

You can get RealVison here
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30936/?

The main problem i have with RealVision is that during the install you are told to mess with Fgamma in the .ini files and in english this means it makes the game world darker. While i understand caves ect are MEANT to be dark i dont want to play a game were its SO dark i cannot see in front of me. Even using a touch gave me little to no light in most areas and even when i was indoors near a fire i didnt get much light.

I found outside to be dark and gloomy most of the time as well even after i put Fgamma back to 1.000 from 2.400 like what the description tells you to set it as. If your like me and you love taking screenshots then its abit crap when your character has little to no light on them. It took me AGES to just even get this image

With RealVision i think thats exactly what its aiming for - trying to be realistic - but in doing so can be a little TO realistic. Caves and inside areas are too dark, touches dont give off much light, if your in a town at night you wont see anything unless your near a fire, the weather seems very gloomy which seems to fit considering skyrim is meant to be cold and hard.

If your using 'Realistic Needs' mod and various others which effect your body temp and eating and sleeping etc then this enb is perfect for you as im pretty sure it was meant to be used with those in mind to add to the whole real life effect

SHARPSHOOTERS

This enb can be installed pretty much the same way as project enb and cinemascope, just get the enb files and the DLL file and move to the skyrim folder and hey presto all set.

The fantastic thing about Sharpshooters is that its a mix of RealVison and Project together (in my opinion) and i feel this is the best ENB to aim for. It adds more sharpness to the world and more detail to objects and characters. A clear difference is by looking at these 2 images

The one of the characters on the bridge near the water is using sharpshooters and adds more detail to pretty much everything. Look at Sara for example (the girl with her feet in the water) on the image were shes on the chair and then look at were shes on the bridge. Her face has more detail added to it using Sharpshooters compared to Project enb.

The game world looks slightly darker than compared to project ENB but the benefits of the sharpness and beauty the mod gives really makes skyrim seem that much more beautiful. The one thing i didnt like was just like how RealVision does, this does as well with interiors. Inside areas are dark but thankfully not as dark as with RealVision. The same seems to apply with outside as now i cannot see as well in the dark as what i could using project enb or others.

RealVision and Sharpshooters come with DOF with them which is an added bonus. Sharpshooters just HAS it working right away but with RealVision you need to mess with it on the settings during game and i dont think it works as well as the others DOF

IF you are planning on running either sharpshooters/realvision or project enb i would only recommend doing so if your graphics card is something like a GTX 550TI 2GB version. I tried using Project ENB on my old GTX460 728mb and it ran ok if i was on my own or just had one,two followers using outfits that didnt take up a lot of fps but i did get a lot of crashes and slow downs. In short if you are planning on using an enb remember your gona need a decent card to run them for the results its wanting to show.

Since updating my graphics card to a GTX660 OC i now use Sharpshooters and it basically changes the way lighting works (makes it much more realistic) and the way shadows and various other effects make for a seriously beautiful game. I also recommend sharpshooters as it seems to give me (personally) the best from the other ENBs available but without all the issues the others give (I found realvision ruined my gaming experience if im honest) and i have since been able to get beautiful shots such as these below. I would recommend using sharpshooters if you have a decent high end card. If your using a mid range i would recommend Project ENB.

UFO and AFT - The best of both mods for Followers
UFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul - LORE FRIENDLY

This mod basically adds more options to the followers you have in your game. With this mod installed you can tell them to do things such as make the NPC follower use Dual weapons and basically a TON more options

Heres the mod
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/14037/?

NOW the REAL secert to the UFO mod is getting it to work with
AMAZING FOLLOWER TWEAKS - LORE FRIENDLY

this is another mod which changes the actions of the NPC followers and in fact makes them MUCH better. This mod allows them to have there OWN horses + relax when your not doing anything + do a pose for you + dance for you and loads LOADS more

Heres the mod
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15524/?

NOW the trick is getting BOTH mods to work together without clashes or issues. The first thing you need to do is download BOTH via nexus mod manager but dont activate them at the start. If you have a follower with you then dismiss them and wait till they have returned home. YOU MUST DO THIS BEFORE ACTIVATING EITHER MOD!!! the main reason for this is because if you do not and then you load up the game with the followers stil with you then the files clash and your followers will leave your service and cannot be re-hired OR in worst case situation - vanish completely.

Now exit skyrim after saving and making sure all your followers have returned to there original places and activate the following mods in this order

UFO
AMAZING FOLLOWER TWEAKS

load them up in THAT order via mod manager and the x2 SHOULD work together without any issues or clashes.

Once the mods are installed your followers SHOULD be able to do things such as build camp fires + Shower+ bath+ repair there own weapons (if near a blacksmith) learn new tricks and various ton and TONS of new options

If this HASNT worked then load up UFO on its OWN first. Then once that has been activated and you have loaded up skyrim to see its working THEN activate AFT but wait for the messages in the top corner to tell you they have been activated. once these messages show up in the corner when you have turned AFT on then it should be ok to talk to your followers and ask them to rejoin you.

You SHOULD get the first option called MANAGE with AFT. select that and you should not have a problem using UFO and AFT together
Hairstyles of Skyrim - Lore and Unlore mix
Various Hair mods of Skyrim

This is a link to the various hairstyle mods out there for Skyrim. Currently i have SG hairstyle pack + Appachi+Oblivion hair packs. Now OBVIOUSLY if im going to be having around 700+ hair styles your GOING to need SKSE and RaceMenuFix as mentioned above or else your game WILL freeze or CTD when you try to change hairstyles in racemenu.

Here is the link for the Oblivion hairs
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18110/?

The appachi hair styles mod that can be found here
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10168/?

SG hairstyles mod is a little more difficult... you could only get this on LoversLab and since then the creator of the pack has made it so users cannot directly download it anymore from there. However i found this very easily to download as you can just type into google search -SG Hair Pack Download- and you should get a link on the first page. Once thats installed you get great hair options such as below. You can get it directly from here

https://mega.co.nz/#!wsoySTCL!Ot0Snh01FEPaVsMxuU3rlifx_91Gq9wvlWvLqPshnGY

Remember when installing loads of mods together you should be testing each mod at a time and sorting the load order to make sure there all working perfectly together. Download appachi + oblivions then SG but obviously make sure you already have SKSE installed along with Racemenu fix and safetyload or else your games just going to freeze if you use ShowRaceMenu to change your hair styles too often.

So when you have those your character can have different hairstyles like these

ECE - more options for character appearance
Make your character 40% more awsome (As Rainbow Dash would say)

Ok you can either use RACEMENU or ECE but between the two of these mods i recommend you use ECE as MORE different mods work better with this than RaceMenu.

In short ECE in an Enhanced menu for when your in showracemenu. It lets you have more slider options and more features such as being able to change eye shape+jaw shape+neck and cheek details and a dozen more features. It makes it so you can fiddle with your characters appearance till they look amazing. Either have a super awsome looking Khajitt or a super fem fatel or a deadly war hardened warrior, the choice is yours with ECE.

It IS a tad difficult at first but you can also add CME files into your own documents so you can have different looking characters load up at any time you want (IE no more playing a seperate game to look completely different) so i can play half my game as a male character and change to a female looking character within less than 10 seconds but simply selecting the load character feature in ECE. You can make a character and then SAVE there appearance in the ECE menu and then create a whole new character and save them and load up your previous one and play the game as them and when you feel like changing character - ECE menu to swap appearance.

You can get ECE here

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12951/?

Once installed (and SKSE and the others mentioned previously) you can get much more fantastic looking characters than what the crappy vanilla game just offers.

Heres an example

Now with ECE installed you can ALSO create many new characters and save them all together in 1 game which means no more starting from the beginning again if you want to make a new looking character. ECE has the option to create a character and then once done you SHOULD be given the option to save that characters apperance at the end in FILE 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 NEXT etc etc. Basically you can save around 26 custom made characters in 1 game which means plenty of choice for gaming.

To start with create your character and then once done it will give you the option to save that character at the end. Save it as 'File 1' or any file you want that character to be saved under. Then to create a new character open racemenu again and either create a new character from begining OR take your existing character and then change them around. Once this has been done and they look more different when your finished it will AGAIN offer you the chance to save that character. Save this character as FILE 2 and now you SHOULD have x2 different looking characters. During any play you wana change characters open racemenu and click on LOAD SAVE (as shown) and it will give you presets 1-4 and NEXT - click on NEXT and you will see files 1-8 and NEXT. You original created character will be file 1 while your more recent will be file 2. Do this as many times as needed for as many new characters that you create.

The first image here is the Menu you should get when your going to SAVE a character at the end. The 2nd image is the option you SHOULD get when you going to LOAD up a character you have saved

MFG - Face Expressions - Give your Character some life
Happy,Sad, Angry - The works please

This is a section on basically adding expressions to your character because in the vanilla game your character seems lifeless and doesnt seem to show much emotion during the entire game.

Now firstly im going to mention member Kazannh who has a guide for the OLD version of MFG which can be found here

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=187155077#161544

This is the older version of how this used to work were to do the expressions you would need to use the command console to get the expression you wanted.

The LATEST version of ECE has this built in however so it makes the above obsolite unless your using the old version (I had heard the older version had some more features but im not sure if this is true or not as i never used the older version) but the latest ECE has MFG built in.

In English it mean when you open ShowRaceMenu you will be given some new sliders near the end which have a bar of different expressions -
Sad -100 0 100+
Happy -100 0 100+
Anger -100 0 100+

EXAMPLE :-

ME 2 100 = Happy 100% smile
ME 3 100 = Nervious 100% eye brows raised and sad face
ME 6 100 = Angry 100% angry look

If you were to pick ME 2 50 then you would have a happy expression but only a 50% smile. The same effect/definition works for Modifiers like eye movement such as MM 9 100 = Eyes move to the left 100%. If you were to put MM 9 30 that would = that the eyes moved 30% to the left. MP is what you would use for movements such as opening the mouth IE MP 0 50 = opening mouth slightly at 50% and so fourth.

and various others but it essentially means that once you have racemenufix (mentioned previously) and the other mods also mentioned it means you can open ShowRaceMenu at any time and using the sliders change your characters face expressions

Mentioned before but you get the latest ECE from here
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12951/?

Halo's Pose Collection - Strike a Pose
Firstly this is another pose collection but this time its by Halo who has given us over 400 Pose options. Firstly you can get the mod here

http://mod.dysintropi.me/mods/skyrim/

Once downloaded install it via nexus mod manager. Open FNIS and click UPDATE and then close the program. Once up and loaded into skyrim you will find some pose rings labelled as Halo Pose 1 2 3 4 5 and EX pose 1 2 3 4 and other various named pose icons.

Basically theres TONS of poses in this mod. Annoying however is the fact there is NO GUIDE for the poses. The poses are just labelled 1 - 400+ and do not have an explaination with them. There are some guides on the nexus website but these are outdated and wrong now as halo changed the file orders of the poses and added/replaced certain poses for different or slightly changes ones, in short the guides on the nexus wont be correct.

As you can see via some of the shots you can get some real cool screenshots thanks to the awsome poses given to us thanks to halo

We have various poses from sitting down to laying down to kneeling to combat poses and a crapload more than you can shake a stick at. Personally i have gone through the poses and have just written down the number of the pose i like and put them to one side. Until or UNLESS someone does an up-to-date guide on the poses on offer i think this is probably the best option for a lot of people. You can get some good shots if you get the right combos

There seems to be poses for any option you can think of, theres tons of sitting down poses and loads of action shot poses and battle poses.

IF your having issues installing the mod i would advise you follow the youtube guide to installing Halos pose mod

I did find the real ODD pose which i didnt quite understand...like theres some real wierd poses in there.... but 99% of the poses are just pure fantastic. i advise ANYONE especially anyone who takes tons of screenshots to give this mod a try
Pretty Motion Package FNIS - New pose animations - none lore friendly
To start with this is a TWO part mod which will require you to download a few seperate files.
This mod will essentially add some rings into your bag of goodies which you should add as Favs (Do this because to get the poses to work this will be quicker) these will let you select from a range of poses that the character should be able to do.
Once you have selected a pose you then need to select the PICK ring which will let you actually DO the pose itself. However to do this we first need to download this mod

FNIS - Fores New Idles
This is a file which you can download and install via mod manager. Once it is installed you will need to go to your C/Program Files/steam etc etc and basically get to Skyrims DATA folder and you should find the FNIS program.

The FNIS file can be found here on the nexus
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11811/?

Now before you do ANYTHING to FNIS you need to download the mod pose file which can be found here

PRETTY motion Package

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/28978/?

Download this file and install it Via mod manager. Once you have installed this i also suggest you ALSO install the creators other animation files such as the following

Pretty combat - Sit - Idles
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15703/?
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11954/?
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/16248/?

Basically download the files your going to be using that will change how the character will either hold a sword/sit or whatever because its best not to mess around with the FNIS program to much.

I myself downloaded these files and then installed them via mod manager. The combat+Idles+Sit mod files will ask you to select to pose you wish to use once installed. Pick what your after and then go back to the FNIS file in the steam Data folder.

Now that your back on the FNIS program double click on the file and let it set itself up. Once the menu has opened up just click on UPDATE and then CLOSE THE PROGRAM.

Load up your skyrim and you SHOULD be given the rings automatically in your holding. Add the rings to favs and choose an animation with the PICK ring and then use the ACT ring to actually do the pose itself. The character should go into the pose you have ask but not be able to move aside from being stuck in the pose you just put them in. To stop this simply JUMP and the pose will stop.

You should be able to end up pulling poses rather easily thanks to these mods

Now these mods are FAR from perfect as i have found a few slight bugs that i have yet to figure a work around for. The main problem i have found is the WEAPONS pose option - You can pick a weapon pose and the character will do it (but without a weapon in there hands unless you DRAW your sword/mace etc) and if they dont have a weapon then you can just JUMP and everythings ok again. HOWEVER if you do DRAW your weapon and do a weapons pose and use TFC in the console command menu (Because obviously your ARE going to do this to get poses) once you jump it seems you cannot put your weapon away......or run either.....but oddly you can seem to do anything else. I tried reloading a save BEFORE i did this but again my character could not run and draw there weapon. I found i had to exit my game and reload it up in order to fix the issue. Im not 100% sure why it does this and have yet to figure a solution to it, just remember if your going for a weapons pose that if you do get this bug then exit the game and reload

I have recently found out WHY this issue happens - If your going to do a weapons pose then do the following
1) select your weapon
2) draw your weapon
3) pick the weapon pose you want
4) select the action to do the pose
5) once your done just JUMP and then put your weapon away

I have found that if you change your weapon while in the pose then you cannot un-draw it and your forced to exit the game and reload. I have also found if you try messing about with the weapon (IE changing it or the outfit your wearing while IN the actual pose) will also cause the game to glitch and force you to exit and reload.

If your going for weapon poses then pick exactly what weapon+outfit you want. Select the pose and draw your weapon and do the pose and then once done - JUMP and put your weapon away if your going to change it for a different one.

Weather Effects - Enhance your experience
CLIMATES OF TAMRIEL - COT

This is a serious must for most gamers as it enhances the weather of skyrim greatly. New weather effects are added into the game and a better light for the sun is used. Various other weather effects such as the lighting (along with an ENB of course) changes during the day from various brightness to darkness, the snow and rain and other weather effects are also changed.

The mod can be gotten from the Nexus here

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/17802/?

I dont want to ruin to much by giving too much away so im just going say - download this mod and experience it for yourself - trust me once you have used this mod it really improves the games weather greatly and makes for a much better gaming experience.

WET AND COLD

This mod is a serious MUST for all skyrim players. The mod is called WET AND COLD and adds a huge amount of detail into skyrims weather and effects of.

Firstly the mod can be found here on the nexus website

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27563/?

You can also get it off the steam workshop here

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=129117101&searchtext=

This mod can be used as stand-alone OR if you install SKSE it will effect the weather even more so than just the stand-alone version. Currently i am just using the stand alone version and the effects are clearly obvious because the game just became a whole lot more beautiful.

Firstly as a stand-alone (No SKSE installed) it adds a ton of extra features to skyrims weather and effects around it. Some of these add more to skyrims current weather while others change things completely such as the following

1) Steam - if your in a warm springs area and remove your clothes (example you put on a bikini or just go in your pants) and then come out of the water you will see steam rise from off the body.

2) Rain blind - If its raining and you look up in 1st person mode you can become temp blinded for a few seconds because rain gets in your eyes. You will also hear the rain dripping from roof sections if hiding in a shelter.

3) Cold breathing - If you go to a snowy section in skyrim then you will see your character breath much heavier due to the cold weather and you will see them breath out cold air from there mouths.

4) Strong winds and blizzards - If your out and get trapped in a blizzard or strong winds then your character is slowed down and you also see frost setting settling on your characters armour/clothes.

It adds a lot of smaller effects to the game but with SKSE installed it adds much much to the game and i have found it adds more than it says with just the stand-alone install. I have found it now rains much more in places in skyrim and the people seem more effected by the weather.

Either way what only makes skyrim much more realistic and more beautiful can only be a good thing.

Weapons Of Choice - Various new Mod weapons
NEW CROSS BOWS

Sick of the fact there seems to be about one choice of crossbow for the game? well this mod fixes that and gives us the option to make more different looking crossbows at any forge ranging from Glass to Ebony and more. Really this SHOULD have been added into skyrim with dawnguard in the first place but does not matter thanks to this amazing mod.

As you can see in the screenshots it adds more crossbows into the world of skyrim giving you a much better choice of handheld weapons. The new crossbows do not seem to act different to the original so i assume these are just new meshes over the original weapon.

Either way take a look at the new weapons for skyrim

You can see some have a lot of detail added to the crossbows while other such as the GLASS crossbow appear to be a mix and mash of other weapons such as the One Hand Axe merged with some other parts.

You can get the crossbow mod from the nexus website here

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23876/?tab=2&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D23876&pUp=1

JAYSUS SWORDS AND WEAPONS

This mod adds 50+ something new weapons into the world of skyrim that can either be found on bad guys OR mainly crafted at smithing places.

I have found the odd bandit with one of these jaysus swords but you can mainly get them from crafting at a blacksmiths. You should look under STEEL and there should be the new weapons there such as the sword of debella or the dragon scale bone greatsword.

The mods here

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1002/?

Theres some real damn AMAZING weapons that can be found on this mod and they look and feel as if they do belong in the vanilla game and are very lore friendly. There not overpowered and also can be enchanted which is a nice extra added touch

STAR WARS MAGICKA SABERS

This mod will add new weapons into the lands of skyrim called Magicka sabers. These are star wars style swords that are made using soul gems and wood for the hilts.

They come as Greatswords - which dont really work because once you put your weapon away it rests on your back which just looks odd considering it it ment to be a lightsaber. The other is the standard sword which works well as a light saber and YES they come with the light saber SOUND effects. Using these swords along with powers such as Spark really can bring a Sith into the lands of skyrim.

There are some actual Star Wars HILT replacers which make it so you have the actual lightsabers used in the films....however no matter what i try i cannot seem to get these to work. Im not sure if im doing something wrong but i have tried to install the Star Wars Hilt Replacers via mod manager and that didnt work and i have also tried it manually and that too didnt work - Unless anyone has a solution for that one then im kinda stumped

The Lightsabers do look fantastic as show

You can get the Lightsabers from the nexus website located here

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3174/?tab=1&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D3174%26preview%3D&pUp=1

The star wars hilt replacer file is also there - again i have had no luck getting this to work on my end unless anyone has a solution to it

TERA WEAPONS AND ARMORS

Another mod -(well 2 actually) that i wanted to show was the amazing Tera weapons and armours mods. These will add outfits/weapons from the world of Tera into skyrim. Personally i dont care for Tera but i do like the weapons and outfits added into the game and you can get some real looks results

Now these mods come in 2 parts.
The first is the weapons which can be found here
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27463/?

Now as for the outfits - for me i used the UNP body style which is here
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25846/?

Once installed these can be found via going to whiterun. The outfits can be crafted at ANY blacksmiths but some require you to have smithing perks.
The weapons can be found in the yarls court in whiterun in the main hall in a tiny barrel near the door or you can make them at a forge
Followers and Companions
Inigo - smart Blue cat follower

This mod adds a new follower to the world of skyrim known as Inigo. He is a khajit cat follower but is more than just another cat in the world of skyrim. Inigo is blue to begin with (Smart Blue Cat) and is unlike most other followers your going to meet.

The maker of this follower gave Inigo dozens of voice comments on random things in the world of skyrim and loads of backstory for you AND Inigo. I dont want to ruin to much but i get the impression that Inigo+Your back story are ment to be a take off on how Fallout vegas starts (When you meet him in jail he says he shot you on a job you two were doing together and now you cannot remember) which seems awfully familiar.

Inigo is a seriously clever follower and comments on your actions around him. He mentions that he doesnt like getting his fur wet or that he likes the snow and he also interacts with people+animals around him.

I dont want to ruin to much of Inigo, i want the player to install him and see just how great a character he really is. You can download the mod here

Does Inigo work with UFO and AFT?
The simple answer to this is YES. He works perfectly well with both of these installed together or just the one installed. With UFO and AFT remember to have them at the very bottom of the load order and have Inigos esm file above UFO and AFT. I have found he works perfectly well with both installed and he even comes with his own horse thanks to the mods.....and YES he comments on having a horse as well! as said before, a very clever follower.

If you want Inigo to be a very deadly cat then give him a daedric crossbow and sit back and watch how dangerious he can be with it. I gave Inigo several archery rings and now he appears to be able to shoot people in the eyes with his crossbow.

If your after the mod which makes it so followers can do stealth kills then that can be found here on the steam workshop

VILJA IN SKYRIM - Lore Friendly

This has to be one of the best companion/follower mods out there that you can get. This mod was made by the maker of Vilja in Oblivion. Anyone who played Oblivion and who had Vilja will instantly know who she was. This time around is Vilja's great great grand-daughter who has come to skyrim who tags along with you on your adventures.

Vilja is fully voiced and i dont just mean copy+paste her voice and comments from Oblivion. This time around she has a whole new load of things to say. Vilja also interacts with other characters such as Mjoll and Lydia and others. Characters talk with Vilja in conversation as well such as Lydia talking to vilja about going treasure hunting on there own and and if either know of any diet potions. Vilja also has her own horse called Bruce which she can ride and she also has several other abilities such as she can read a book for you / play a song / dance on the tables in a bar / make a potion / keep you healed in battle and tons of other things.

The mod itself can be found here on the nexus website

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26393/?

The maker of Vilja took some SERIOUS time to make her and shes amazingly well created. The only downside i would say is that Vilja can talk TOO much sometimes, even if you ask her to be quiet she still talks too much at times.

SKYRIM BEAUTIFUL FOLLOWERS

The mod can be located here on the nexus
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/37861/?

i find this mod is 50/50 on lore and unlore friendly but personally thanks to this mod i use Lydia now. Yes i am shallow and yes appearance does mean a lot to me but just LOOK at lydia and janessa now. They both look 100x times better now

The mod is all ready sealed which means you WONT need any other mods with this one. Just download the whole package and it should work straight away. Alea and serana are there own seperate files as 1) Needs dawnguard and 2) Alea needs a ceratin quest doing first before the mod will activate properly. So leave those till last

SERANA - A MUCH NEEDED IMPROVMENT

This is a face mod for serana to basically improve how she looks rather than leaving her with the appearance of a turd-sandwich which Bethesda seemed to think was ok.

This mod greatly improves Seranas looks and also the mod gives you the choice of several appearances and styles for hair and other features.

You can get the mod on the nexus website here

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52907/?

Greatly improves Serana. Now all we need is a mod for her to say stuff once Dawnguard has been finished considering she just suddenly goes mega quiet once the DLC is finished with

Various Mounts/Rides
BLAZE - The Horse of Fire

This mod will add a quest to the game which will add a horse called blaze who is made of fire. He will add to the game in a lore friendly way but also looks very cool in a non - lore friendly way

You can get this mod here
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25097/?

He is titled - Blaze Of Eventide by Alek - and is basically a horse made of pure fire. Now the great thing about Blaze is that he is not like other horses because for starters you use a SUMMON spell to bring him to you and you also have a quest to actually gain him. You hunt down a mage and basically take the book which teaches you how to summon blaze. You can also command blaze to attack various creatures and if he dies he explodes into a huge fire ball killing anything near it. If blaze does die then you can simply summon him back to life and obviously since he is made of fire - he will consume any fire attacks and regain his own health

ARMORED SABRE CAT - WOLF MOUNT

This mod adds a saber cat / wolf both wearing armour which can be summoned via a flute.

You can get the mod here

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8978/?tab=1&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D8978%26preview%3D&pUp=1

what this mod does is that it adds a FLUTE in the whiterun stables. Using this flute summons an armored sabre cat/wolf that you can ride and that will also attack your enemies. In short think of HE-MANS mounted sabre cat and you get the general idea of whats going on.

Heres an image of both the saber cat and the wolf

The saber cat looks good but to me but (personally) i dont think that the large armoured wolf fits in very well. The odd socks on the four legs just look....out of place and are more than likely a texture issue/problem

KillCam Control - 100% chance for kill moves
KILLMOVE CONTROL - Lore Friendly

This mod will add a BOOK to your invenitory that will ALLOW you to control
1) How often kill cam happens
2) How often a Decap happens
3) It removes the LAST person alive option so that the killcam only happens once

The mod can be found here
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13446/?

A great mod if you want the killcam to happen every time you kill someone as its always cool to see a fatality kill move happen

Dragon Age Mods for Skyrim
Now everyone like Dragon Age (Well DA1 at least) so it only seems fitting to add some Dragon Age style mods into the world of skyrim....which oddly seem to work beautifully and seem to be very lore friendly working

The first Dragon Age mod im going to link is
DA2 Mage Hawke Armor

You can get this off the STEAM WORKSHOP - go onto search and just type Hawk and it should be on the first page. The armor can only be made at the Sky Fordge under Elven armors. Its female only at present so it wont work for guys. As you can see from the screenshot my female character Erin looks pretty good in this outfit

You can find this on the steam workshop HERE

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=116602191

The next is Morrigans Robes from Dragon Age 1

You can get this from LoversLab.com
I wont add the direct link to the page as some people get a little prissy about LoversLab for some strange reason. I think its the hardcore Lore only idiots who think the game should only be played with lore friendly stuff (Because on LB there are LOADS of un-lore friendly stuff) as basically these people seem to have a go at anyone who plays differently.

You can get Morrigans outfit from loverslab rather easily - Just look for XiNAVRO's Conversions and you will find this master mod maker has some INCREDIBLE outfits for skyrim

Another Great Dragon Age mod is - Weapons Of Dragon Age
This mod essentially adds weapons from the Dragon Age saga into the world of skyrim. Weapons ranging from the StarFang/Murder Knife/merics blade and loads more

This mod can be found here on the nexus website

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19263/?

Download with the nexus mod manager to avoid any conflictions with any other weapons mods. You can also get them on steams workshop now here

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=78112039&searchtext=dragon+age

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=84190367&searchtext=dragon+age

Another outfit is Dragon Age 2 Bethany Robes
These are again from loverslab and are again made by the amazing XiNAVRO CONVERSIONS.
Simply download off the loverslab website (just google Xinavro and loverslab and it should be the 1st option) now your going to need to download it manually. Then once its done install it with nexus mod manager. The outfit can be crafted in any blacksmiths under OTHER

Gothic / Vampire Outfits - Lore and Unlore friendly
Mixed Gothic/Vampire outfits

This is a selection of gothic/vampire outfit mods that can be added to skyrim. Either be a vampire queen or just a gothic style girl wielding a huge schye.

UNDERWORLD PVC

This outfit is essentially the outfit that is worn by Selene in The movie Underworld. Its a fantastic mod but personally i didnt like the boots and am using some PVC ones created by another user on the steam workshop (just search for fetish wardrobe) and as you can see in the images the outfit looks seriously sexy

You can get this mod from the nexus website here

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48077/?

It is a UNP version but i belive there are other body versions available

GOTHIC LOLITA

The mod can be found here

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17727/?

You get 2 outfits - 1 black and 1 white

As you can see these look pretty good but do seem a little non-lore like

The scyhe is from Jackga is anyone is curious.

BLAIRS VAMPIRE GEAR

The mod can be found here
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/35088/?

This is a set of clothes that your going to need to track down - unless you cannot be bothered, in which case just use console commands and type -Help Blairs-

As you can see it look rather good and seems lore friendly and fits into the whole Dawnguard piece rather well

LEATHER BEAR SKIRT

This is by JackGa and can be found on the steam workshop OR via downloading JackGa shop. It comes in various pieces and parts so can be mixed and matched with other pieces of clothing.
I personally feel this could be one of there best works.

You can get the outfit HERE from modtype here

http://modtype.doorblog.jp/archives/29654442.html

i THINK theres a version on LoversLab but i have not been able to find this on there yet as i would love a 7Base version of this outfit myself

LUSTLORD VAMPIRE - DAWNGUARD IS REQUIRED FOR THIS

Im not sure personally WHY dawnguard is required for this mod because i cannot find were any of this outfit fits into dawngaurd on its own (meshes i mean) it seems like a brand new armor made from scratch so why the maker seems to make it so you NEED to have dawngaurd installed seems odd.

You can get this mod here
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25852/?

This basically makes your female character into a vampire queen and looks fantastic. You can see when you look close up that a lot of detail/time/effort went into making this outfit

EMMAH DRESS

you can get the mod here

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/30171/?tab=2&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D30171&pUp=1

This is a shorter version of the outfit by Hentai and comes in either original black or the new blue texture. The outfit is a shorter dress and doesnt have the necklace part.

The boots in the screenshot are from DOA Tina's outfit along with the leg warmers. The necklace used is that you get with the DLC dawnguard

RAYNE OUTFIT
This outfit is called Rayne Outfit - It can be made ONLY at the skyforge in whiterun. It comes as main + boots and arms and as you can see it looks very vampire/gothic looking.

You can get the mod itself here

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/24957/?

Its mainly made for the CBBE body but i use UNP and didnt seem to have a problem. I THINK the outfit adjusts the body itself so that when you wear the outfit the body shifts to CBBE.

Either way be ready as the outfit seems to use a lot of polygons

TRIBUNAL ROBES

For both males and females this outfit looks great but also comes with some cool masks for your characters to wear. Khajit masks and Lizard Masks also available.....sadly no Ork as the creator didnt seem to ever get round to finishing that mask at the present time

You can get the mod from the nexus here

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/20077/?
Valkyrie/Knight armour - lore and unlore friendly
Here is a selection of Valkyrie/Holy Knight style armours.
Some are from various other series such as Fate Stay Night while others are from games such as Valkyrie Profile 2 and some are just Brand new outfits.

Silver Knight
Yet another fantastic piece by JackGa. An angel/valkyre style outfit that looks amazing and comes with the most beautiful WINGS mod i have ever seen. You can get this amazing piece on the modtype website here

http://modtype.doorblog.jp/archives/41484794.html

And heres just how fantastic the outfit looks and my follower Iltya

A lot of time and effort went into this outfit and just by looking you can see all the fine detail

Thunder

Lightnings armour from Final Fantasy 13 can be gotten directly from here

{LINK REMOVED}

Its on modtypes website but your going to have to look thourght a huge catalog of mods for it (really wish there was a damn SEARCH button) as its one of the far back mods in the list on the website

Again lots of details and very awsome looking converted armor

Freya's raiment
The armour looks FANTASTIC and has obviously had a lot of time and effort put into the creation of this kit. The textures look really beauiful and theres so much detail even in the smaller pieces of the armour.

You can get the Armour from the steam workshop here

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=138394532

FATE STAY NIGHT SABER ARMOR

This is sabers armor from the fate stay night series.
You can get this the workshop located here

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=12236&searchtext=saber

If your also JUST after sabers swords then you can get them from the nexus website located here
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3542/?

Honestly i think the weapons look more beautiful than any of the vanilla weapons in the vanilla game. The again i think the Vanilla game looks like an N64 game in comparisson to the game super high-end modded

Angelic Iron Armour

This mod is another fantastic piece from JackGa (The helmet is from another mod) and comes in three parts. A beautiful piece but i feel the textures are not as high-res as some of the creators previous ports/armors

You can get the outfit from modtype

http://modtype.doorblog.jp/archives/30153196.html

Different color versions available

LEERE Armour

This set comes as UNP and CBBE (seperate files obviously) and is for female characters only. Try putting it on a male character and see the wierd results (I tried it on an Aragonian) but basically this is female friendly only. Comes as main body+legs+arms+helmet and looks really great. I guess this could pass as lore friendly because it looks like something you might get from the dark brotherhood or perhaps the dawnguard or the vampire cults?

Theres an AMAZING retexture of this which turns it into Royal Coloring - IE red and gold and if your playing a blood covered vampire race it looks really good.

You can get the outfit from the nexus website here
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11756/?

you can also get the retexture ROYAL edition here
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19788/?tab=3&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodimages%2F%3Fid%3D19788%26user%3D2&pUp=1

Valle Armour

Not sure were this armour comes from personally but just had to mention it as it does look amazing. Looks very Valkryie Profile 2 style and with the right helmet on and weapon looks even more better. You can get the outfit here

http://modtype.doorblog.jp/archives/26569385.html

Heres how good it can look with the right extra gear

CATS (and other pets) of Skyrim
Pets of Skyrim - Lore Friendly

Ever wondered were all the cats and dogs were in skyrim? I think normally theres 1 dog in a village and that seems to be about it. We have the Khajits but why no normal pet cats wondering about?

This mod however changes all that and adds new+more dogs and cats into the world of skyrim.
You can get the mod from the nexus website here

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17424/?

You will now find more cats and dogs roaming around towns and villages and bars.

As shown here the cats walk around and make there own noises and lay down and rest and get comfy. Dogs wonder around town and bark and do general dog things.

A small touch but vastly adds to the game
Animated Enchantments - Sword/Axes of FIRE, FROST,LIGHTENING and more
This mod adds new FIRE/FROST/LIGHTENING and other effects to the weapons of skyrim via enchantments. This mod allows you to now actually have a sword OF FIRE or other effects.

You can get these from Whiterun and once in your goody bag you can enchant almost any weapon to have these amazing effects.

You can get the mod from the nexus website here

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/41875/?

As you can see in the images you can now actually go around waving swords of proper fire and frost and lightening. An AWSOME effect making your weapons look really amazing when compared to the crappy vanilla enchantments options.

Easy to get a hold of and easy to use, just enchant your weapons as normal but use the oblivion enchantments (from this mod) as you can see the effects are really worth it.
Fire and Ice Overhaul - lore friendly
Burn and Freeze

This is a FANTASTIC mod which finally makes the fire effects actually look decent and like real fire than compared to how they look in the broing vanilla game. The ice feature also gets a frozen ice crystal overhaul appearance.

The mod can be found here
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/43241/?

As you can see once the fire starts its just like a real fire and catches on buring anything in its path. Set a small fire in a house and watch the whole place go up in flames

Maybe you should add some great mods like Equipping Overhaul or the bigger ones like Frostfall and Skyre, but I think they could be more complicated, so I'll just say great guide
