"I've noticed this "little phenomenon" arising around mid November 2018 where two of my recently uploaded L4D2 addons received 5 dislikes in a span of an hour. I didn't pay too much attention to this as I figure that maybe people just didn't like my addons that much. However, as time progresses this "phenomenon" seems to be getting worst. Since around Christmas until now, my last 3 L4D2 addons had been severely dislike bombed with bots hitting an average of around 20% dislike ratio. As I investigated further, I've also noticed that other authors[i.imgur.com] are also experiencing the same situation with their addons. Heck, even the RNG queen modder Ellie[i.imgur.com], also made a comment addressing this issue.

This is where I realised that some d*ckhead "author" in the community is blatently abusing the Steam rating system by downvoting other modder's addons that hit the front page, whilst simultanously upvoting their addons up. This is pretty evident when you noticed what's been trending on the front page as of late. Not only is this the most lowest and scumbag strategy to gain some views and subscriptions with little to no effort, but it is also extremely demoralising to beginner and veteran authors that actually spent time and effort into their addons.

I have no hard evidence to prove which particular a**hole is behind these bots but I do have a suspect in sight, since what I've stated above are all based off my own little investigation. If you're also an author that's following my works, please don't feel demoralised by this phenomenon and keep doing what you loved. If you're an user who's following other modders, please at least leave a comment and like to help support and appreciate their work.
